  1. @mamaoftrois while you're able to contact HAL or FE, I would call FE - they have direct access to your flight details while HAL does not (they'll have to reach out to FE). Good luck- please update us.
  2. Not familiar with port process in Amsterdam, but all the HAL ports I've embarked post-Covid have not enforced the check in times. If it were my trip, I'd ask hotel for a late checkout and call HAL to see about getting an earlier check in. Then I'd hang a bit in hotel lobby after checking out (likely more comfortable than terminal) then head over to the terminal and drop my bags w/Porter then go find a local place for lunch. If they let you on early, great; if not, you had lunch w/o schlepping your luggage and had minimal wait at the port. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
  3. @LAFFNVEGAS I might need new glasses, otherwise you gonna get tired w/all that Time Traveling, lol!! 🫣 lunch looks great!! Safe travels to both you @luvteaching
  4. Oh, I left this out - fellow CC member I met on a cruise in Feb sent me a little pick me up 😊 She knows I've got cruises in jeopardy because of the shoulder... The CC community is the best!
  5. And OP hasn't mentioned anything since first post, so maybe we're all discussing something for nothing, lol...
  6. That's an option, but why should OP use OBC to pay for something they orinally had?
  7. And notice only the first 6 lines reference HIA; tips (which you're receiving pre-paid) on line 7 do NOT reference HIA - they are added as a different promotion which HAL bundled w/HIA for the early booking bonus.
  8. I like skyscrapers. Funny guy that Milton Berle was. @ottahand7 the Monarch picture is beautiful - I hope you don't mind I saved it. @HAL4NOW Turnaround Day may be my favorite day - it does feel different; I smile seeing the luggage in the hall the night before knowing mine will not be there. @Quartzsite Cruiser the Mask Carvers and Cab Driver stories remind me of a shakedown we saw a few years ago in Belize. DS & I were looking at some beaded Christmas ornaments, listening to a young lady proudly describe how she made them when a man walked over to the only other person in the shop - a man who worked there. He very loudly and firmly demanded the worker man give him his money; he wasn't pleased when told the amount he was given was all there was. It had been raining 🌧 off & on all day and was still very cloudy, so likely they had not made many sales. With All Aboard in less than an hour, probably not much more to come. He said there better be more when he returned then left taking with him all the money the man showed him. The young lady told us the worker man was her father and the other man provided "protection" for him & her family. She said many times they had no money after working all day because the man thought it wasn't enough and wanted more. She said on busier days they will divide out hiding part of what they bring in so if he grabs the pouch himself he won't get it all and they'll have something for themselves, but due to the poor weather today, there wasn't really anything to divide. He got away with everything they had. It was heartbreaking. It was 79 when I checked at 5:40 this morning, no desire to know how far it's climbed - forecast is triple digits w/no rain. Ugh Mechanic called - a/c was a simple fix (yay!), but dashboard gauges continue to freeze, so 🤷 🤔 Mini Max the cat seems to have decided Athena the dog is the best pillow in the house; if he's happy and dog doesn't mind, who am I to say he's not right? Ah, to have such simple problems... I see the surgeon 1st Tues in Oct and will continue pushing through PT hoping he's pleased w/the progress. Oh, Baby Murphy 🙏 Safe travels to all who are away from home. Prayers and well wishes to all on the Care List. Happy Birthday 🎂 🥳 to those born in Sept.
  9. Being refundable helps, for sure. Always scary being inside final payment, much less "way past final payment." I'm not prone to ulcers, but definitely on edge during those times. Which for me is currently 3 cruises - yikes!! It's a wonder I get any sleep 💤 😴 😒 Please update us - we're rooting for you!! Remember when you call - people can hear the smile in your voice 🤭
  10. I have not. The couple times I've reset my password, it has worked straightaway. That is through the website on Chrome, not on the app or Navigator App. Recently, like the last couple weeks, I've had it just loop back to the log in screen when I use my email address, which is what I've used for years. But if I enter my Mariner number it logs in just fine. Just to clarify, not given me a log in failed or bad password notice, just keeps looping back to the log in screen. So something wonky is going on re log ins.
  11. Breakfast looked good 🤭 Wishing you a smooth embarkation and wonderful trip. Side note - we do not feel comfortable walking in Seattle, unfortunately.
  12. We are deck 7 Terrazzo cabin B2B Sept 16 - 29. Will we be neighbors?
  13. Yes it is divided as @Elaine5715 said; however, pre-cruise anyone in the cabin can spend it. So, be careful when purchasing in advance. A notice that you have OBC will pop up as you pay along with a confirmation that you want to use it. If you don't want to use OBC, just decline and use a CC. During that process, it doesn't break it out to show how much is coming from each pax - it just pulls it off the total. No worries about that when using onboard, amounts are separate.
  14. Gave up the powdered stuff; wanting French Vanilla (which is easy) and Italian Sweet Cream (harder to find). I find the liquid is richer helps the "common" Lido coffee go down easier, lol, so I spend less on "foofy" coffee.
  15. @tmarquez I have booked a couple of those - no tricks and never had them canceled at port due to overbooking. I have upgraded all of them as I didn't want to be inside. The cost to upgrade has been very reasonable but will depend on the itinerary, so it varies by offer. You should be able to see the upgrade cost when you get to the cabin selection point. You'll also know your cabin when you upgrade as you select it. Just call in if you aren't seeing your free offer at the start. They'll also help you do the entire booking if you don't want to try it on your own. You can call the number listed on the offer or the regular Carnival number. Congrats - safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
  16. @dmcfad2 @CarolRoy Correct that transferring non-refundable monies paid is contrary to policy; however, I have done it. I've also had the request denied. It's not something that you can do yourself online - you have to call in. You may have to escalate to a supervisor, so just know going into the call that you may be speaking to more than 1 person. Have an itinerary selected, better is to have it on courtesy hold so that the one you want to move to has a booking number. Odds are better if the new one is not at/near capacity. Your request when you call is to have what you've paid moved to booking xxx (the one on courtesy hold). When it's transferred, it will likely show as non-refundable but some have reported they've seen it as refundable on the new booking. Remember, grace and patience will serve you well. 🤫 Do not wait too long - sooner is better. Good luck - please update us as to the outcome.
  17. You absolutely can self disembark; they call it "walk off." You'll need to select that when you get your disembarkation form & will still get a disembarkation packet - very important to read it. You'll likely be in the 1st group; the time will depend on several things, including how quickly the ship gets clearance. You could be off by 730ish. Boarding pass can be printed from the "docs" section, just be sure it's the one with barcode in lower left corner, the ones w/o barcode are not the "official " one. Or you can use the electronic one from the Navigator App w/o printing it.
  18. Have never had an issue smelling food when we've had a cabin above MDR. But we have very frequently smelled food at the aft elevators.
  19. I have a strong preference for true aft balconies (wake view) on AK itineraries. Yes, it can get cold out there, but a blanket helps 😃 and the rewards of whales and other wildlife are definitely worth it.
  20. Never had any issues w/AK Air - seats comfortable, crew friendly and on time service. Have not paid for first class, but have enjoyed the free upgrades.
  21. We never pay for water - we ask for an extra ice bucket & request service 2x/day. We use the melted ice and water to fill our water bottles. End result is great tasting super cold water for no additional charge.
  22. Here's hoping disembarkation is uneventful and the cruise memorable. Safe travels.
  23. It's been immediate for me, as recently as last month. Did you get the cancelation confirmation?
