  1. Cashing out the extra OBC to pay cash is an option - they'll provide envelopes if you ask. I have read of people saying they put the additional tips on the adjustment form, but I have not personally done it, so cannot confirm it would work.
  2. Have you already submitted your membership info and received confirmation? If so, you should ask for it; worse case you're told no. If you haven't submitted yet, then no, you won't receive since your current booming was made before you submitted.
  3. Oh certainly no rain or snow today - 81 at 6am, high of 108 today and tomorrow, cold front Sat dropping to 99... The quote is interesting, drink sounds good, I'll pass on the food, never been to the port but would like to go. Therapist really working my shoulder, adds another exercise each visit. Next week, she's going to put together a plan for me to follow while I'm on the ship for 2 weeks. I think having the hydro pool and saunas to use will help. Then I see the surgeon when I return; hoping he finds my progress acceptable. Prayers and hugs to all... Extra of both for Baby Murphy and her family. Geez, the weatherman just said 109 today and tomorrow - I know it's only 1 more degree than what my phone showed, but it's1 degree in the wrong direction. And the air quality is horrendous.
  4. 😁 I will continue to try on the cruise that I've been chasing for months, right up until late Nov when it leaves 🥴 my cabin mate for that cruise sent me a screenshot about HiIA being available, but of course we got the usual "sorry..." answer when we called.
  5. Hm, so drinks, specialty dining, excursions, spa treatments, shop purchases which easily leave thousands of dollars on the ship at the end of a cruise equate to freeloading? Your math and dictionary are different than mine.
  6. I know; It's so sad. The poor wildlife, That is such an amazing area to see.
  7. Not necessarily - I suspect the fact that tipping is very much a North American "thing" is a contributing factor given passengers are international. There are likely passengers from areas that don't agree with the practice of tipping and have them removed that would not sail if they couldn't remove them. Build tips in as part of the base fare and they can't be removed.
  8. @koolforkatz this is exactly my experience on upgrading drink package: only on 1st day AND before you use it all. See a Bartender only (not Steward, not Guest Services). Unless you must have the wine ypu mentioned, paying the price difference usually is better financially. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
  9. Worth the walk; true for AK itineraries, too. LOVE aft wrap!!
  10. Outlook not good for those PC itineraries. Great suggestion to join the Roll Call to see the conversations. It's a hard time for PC, but once Mother Nature rights the conditions there, you should have a nice selection of itineraries again if you're willing to wait.
  11. Explorations Cafe (technically not Crow's Nest, but people do call it that) has full selection of coffee, including specialty coffee, it has a very modest selection of complimentary baked snacks. The Grand Dutch Cafe on K'Dam, N Statendam & Rotterdam has a full selection of coffee, Dutch beers, a bar and soup, sandwiches, baked goods. Specialty coffee & alcohol is extra, but the food is free. GDC is very similar to the International Cafe on Princess. I LOVE the little fruit tarts on Princess, but I'm obsessed w/GDC.
  12. AARP OBC is not combinable w/casino rate and you may not be able to add HIA.
  13. The blue skies are absolutely gorgeous!! Looks like the weather is cooperating. Of course, AK is beautiful no matter the weather, but stunningly blue skies doesn't hurt. The Dutch Pea Soup in Crow's Nest when visiting Glacier Bay is nice. Thanks for posting and letting us tag along.
  14. Native of Grand Turks. I'm glad you're thinking it through and leaning toward keeping the cruise. I know you'll enjoy it, whatever you decide, and make wonderful memories with your mom.
  15. Correct on pricing - 13 days and less, CO is $25pp/day; 14 days and more CO is $15pp/day.
  16. Can you offer insight for 16 day cruise? Mostly sea days, round trip San Diego.
  17. On HAL, you will have an option of doing land first or cruise first. If you want additional time on the land portion, you can arrive or or stay longer. But to book an actual "Land Cruise" package, you cannot book all the land separately - that would entail you booking 2 vacations with one being a cruise. We did cruise first, land after. Prices will only be known once the cruises are published. AK is fabulous - enjoy!!
  18. Absolutely!! Even if you have a private balcony to enjoy viewing, a peek from an open bow is fabulous!
  19. This was our experience in Feb on NS. Since we didn't see them in May on Eurodam, I thought maybe it was a test. Grade: fail
  20. Haven't ordered lunch yet and it's already time for dinner?! I will be very full, someone will have to roll me out of here... Lunch: Beefsteak tomatoes, Pinnacle Burger no bun, sorbet & brownie (too good to pass on, but I always eat just 1 bite, DH takes the rest) Dinner: No idea - I'm full from lunch!! But I will have a Lemon Drop, please, and I'll be splitting the Rib Eye w/DH, lol. Dutch Pea Soup in Crow's Nest during Glacier Bay day Eurodam in May.
  21. Our Dec 21 cruise also changed from Lahaina to Kahului
