  1. its a weird looking concrete ramp thing i n the front there Shanghai?
  2. Well if it is not in Victoria and Parkes is actually in NSW - shall I amend my guess to Parkes, NSW?
  3. Memorial Hill, Parkes, Victoria? PS little hack Kristelle uses - pick photos on your computer that you could use for this game, copy and paste into new folder - as you use one, put into sub folder of 'used already' photos follow me for more handy tips 😄
  4. I don't like jumping to conclusions about people based on what they wear. Many people have mentioned on here and in my real life observations, that they wear to dinner what they plan to wear during the day the next day.. I often did this myself too - so really it was the same outfit for day and evening - just a different day.
  5. I enjoyed the cable car there too.
  6. Egypt? But that seems too obvious so probably not. ETA Oops you said after more than the country - I read it as I am more after the country.
  7. So I guess Devon was named after the place whoever started making it in Victoria came from. I know in SA it is called Fritz because that was the first name of the original maker here. Not the wurst name 🤪
  8. Yes, Battersea Park children's zoo.
  9. Yes somewhere in London. But where exactly?
  10. Ooh a topic I know something about, having worked in a clinic doing yellow fever vaccines. Yellow fever vaccine is a live vaccine - not recomended for pregnant women or immunocompronised people. Also women breastfeeding infants under 9 months. And infants under 9 months And people over 60 - proceed with caution. The time now is also not 10 years, it is life long - ie the certificate lasts for your lifetime and you do not need to get booster doses. There are a few exceptions to this but most people will not need boosters. The link cruiser3775 gave is the up to date info for all vaccines - the online Australian Immunisation handbook is the ' bible' of vaccination info.
  11. Here is picture of front entrance to the place; see if that helps.
  12. Not in Florida. Not anywhere in America
  13. well yes ldubs - diverting into the tangent of the title wording probably isnt a good idea and yes absolutely to some people a cruise can be superior - but that is just another way of saying it is their personal preference. which is what I said too - just gave some reasoning of mine, for me.
  14. Actually, no. That's why I took this photo when I was in (not telling where) because it amused me so much that I had travelled that far just t o see kangaroos that I can see all the time on outskirts of my own home town.
  15. Nothing is neccesarily superior - it is not a competition, in which, as K32682 said, your starting premise is that cruising is the best answer 'Why do you like cruising' might be a better starter that the automatic assumption in 'why is cruising best' I dont like big crowds and that goes for on a ship as well as in a port, I dont like waiting in long queues,I dont want sea days. I'm not into big entertainment type shows, I dont like formal occasions - so I like river cruising rather than ocean cruising But that doesnt make river cruising 'best' - it just makes it my preference It also isnt my only preference or even my personal best - I also like small group land tours and on our own land tours. Yes it totally just depends what someone enjoys - and they can equally enjoy more than one thing
  16. I only travel on longer trips with my own husband - I don't think it would work for us travelling with other people for longer - as in friends from home. I travel on small group tours with people I dont know, but that is different. Short trips, not cruise, I have occasionally done with friends or family - couple of days. They have been good. I wouldn't do 15 days. If you do, I think you all need to be on same page beforehand of how much you expect to do together or apart
  17. Nobody is playing any more? do you want another picture?
  18. this is a bit like the ' what is your favourite colour' question - ie everybody's best is different and there is no definitive answer. I'm not a big ocean cruiser - but I really loved the 14 night Europe river cruise we did and booked to do a Mekong river one in January. But it wont be my one and only vacation style - going on short land holiday in Australia in October and then maybe another small group land tour year after. Ive really enjoyed them too.
  19. that's an interesting experiment to run on yourself. so if you can manage on 5 pairs for such a long trip, you know that would be enough for any shorter trips - and not need to take the other 3 'spare pairs' 5 is not excessive - so one on your feet for travelling there, 1 is probably flip flops that take virtually no space or weight - leaves only 3 actual pairs of shoes in a suitcase.
