  1. On this one, I would simply chose by price. The ships are similar enough. The Legend has more "free" lunch options than the Radiance OTS, but the Radiance is likely a little more elegant than the Legend. Carnival has more comedy than RC. Both will have production shows, trivia, music, etc. Either way, we love cruising out of Tampa and sailing under the Sunshine Skyway. It occurs about two hours after you leave the port.
  2. You will enjoy the setup of the casino on the Mardi Gras. Most of the MG casino is non-smoking, including the host stand and the cage. The smokers are in a smaller room, which is adjacent to the casino bar. Because of the setup, there is much less smoke in the main casino. And due to the close proximity, both smokers and non can hear the names being drawn to participate in casino games. I find this a huge improvement over the older ships.
  3. If I am understanding this correctly, you are asking if the conversion van will fit in the garage. However, you also have a handicapped tag or sticker. If all of that is right, I think you could park (maybe free) at the port in the surface lot. If not, there are a number of offsite parking places near Port Canaveral. We have used two of them and were quite happy with the service.
  4. Thanks for doing this. l am enjoying it. We disembarked once in Long Beach and I loved that port. It is so different than the ones we have in Florida.
  5. if you only cruise once a year, I guess I could see that. But the advantages of having a passport greatly outweighs the cost of passport to me.
  6. We are booked at the Premier Inn North Terminal. Hope it’s ok. Only one night so I will risk it. Lol
  7. Simplest way would be a Carnival gift card. Then you can make your reservation on board at a time convenient for you. That said, the few times I had wanted to change a paid reservation, there was never an issue except maybe eating 30 minutes before or after your preferred time.
  8. While I agree each cruise is different, to me, the most troubling part of the videos of the Venezia fight in the nightclub was the ineffective response of security. Guess Carnival is going to have to give security tasers or mace.
  9. I would guess by the final payment date.
  10. Are there really any formal nights now? I thought they had been replaced with elegant evenings, where guests are encouraged to dress up but won’t be denied seating in the dining room if they show up in shorts or jeans.
  11. Good point. Our last repositioning cruise was Tampa to Long Beach. So only had to fly one way. I love these types of cruises as they are usually longer and you get to some ports that are not often visited on our home ported cruises. We are doing the Tampa to Baltimore cruise next April, and will finally get to visit Barbados (fingers crossed).
  12. Thanks for bringing us along. We loved the Horizon and you are in for a great time with the dolphins at Ocean World.
  13. Thank you for the review. We love the Miracle, purple grapes and all.
  14. Less than a suite would have cost me. Sometimes you just get 🍀
  15. Just for reference, I did a three night cruise on the Carnival Liberty last week and racked up 14,000. That got me an offer of a free Suite and Drinks on Us Everywhere for two.
  16. To the OP, I have been on some rowdy cruises, and my top advice is to stay out of the nightclub. You have many people who are DRUNK, and this is where the fights usually break out. And don't engage the rowdy cruisers. Just move on. Cruise ships are very large and there is more than enough room for everyone. As to the lines, yes, they will be long. The way I deal with it is to go on off times, and if the line is too long, go somewhere else. When we recently returned from port in Nassau at 4:00 or so, Guy's Burgers was packed so we headed over to the buffet and found perfectly fine food there. In our experience, the staff ratios are getting much better. Last year on the Carnival Liberty, our cabin steward told us he had 32 rooms! This year, our steward seemed less stressed. The ships I have been on recently are Carnival ships, and most sail out of Florida. It could be it is worse on this ship because it is new to the Carnival line. But Carnival better beef up its security on this ship. Who wants to cruise when you have to wait to debark so the police can arrest the offenders? And yes, there is video. Several were posted on other sites yesterday or today, but most have been taken down. You can now view one of the videos on this very thread. With video evidence, I don't think this is hearsay or the usual Carnival bashing. Rather, this ship has some problems. Since the transatlantic, I haven't really heard anything good at the Venezia. Fingers crossed Carnival gets the problems with Venezia corrected before you board. If it's not too late, you could consider cancelling.
  17. Thanks for the update. Glad it all worked out.
  18. Since the end of the Public Health Emergency, Carnival has been much less inclined to allow transfers after the final payment date. The previous poster gave you good advice, but I think the answer is probably going to be no. Good luck and let us know how it turns out. But my general advice would be to tell your potential new employer you can't start until X date, unless they approve you for vacation for the week of Y. If they aren't willing to work with you on that, then I don't think working for them is going to be great.
  19. Happy to do it. If anyone has any questions about the Liberty, I will try to answer. And the renovated Nassau cruise port is super nice.
  20. Call Carnival and get on the waistline list. And see if the cancelled cruisers can be added to the other cabins. Then stalk the Carnival website everyday. Good luck!
