  1. I recommend allowing them to do it if that's what they want and you find something else to do during that time. Personally, I would feel uncomfortable going if I wasn't eating and taking part in the meal. Probably not in the MDR if I wasn't particularly hungry, but the Steakhouse is different as it specifically is a specialty restaurant and has a cover charge. Regardless if you'll be eating or not I'm sure.
  2. It should be under the Booking & Order Details tab, not the My Planner tab. That's where I've always found it anyway and select "Check In" once it becomes available.
  3. A very strange question. If the dish isn't being prepared that night and there's a whole menu of other things actually being prepared for that day, why on earth would they specially make something else just for you? Seems a bit entitled if you ask me. Simply wait and order it the next day! And if you missed out from a previous, it's life. You order off the menu you get! Can't help but thinking of the line "make it make sense!"
  4. I can say that on the Panorama which is the same class and which I sailed on last September it is free for lunch. And yes the lasagna included on the menu was sooo good, quite possibly the best I've ever had! Yummy!
  5. Just got off the Celebration and it was Deck 3 mid and forward on port days. Also got to catch the Jubilee in port with us one of the days and it was the same!
  6. I don't notice it. As an IT person myself It could be a plethora of causes whatever the issue and may not even be their website but your own device or connection that is the problem. There's so many variables involved it's not as simple as "their system" even if that's how the common folk may see it. My humble opinion is it's something on your end if it's occurring on multiple websites and happening routinely or regularly. Not all websites are handled by the same tech, equipment, network infrastructure, etc. Each cruise line would configure, manage, and administer their own (or outsourced to another company to do for them), so the fact it's occurring across different sites for you suggests an issue on your side perhaps with your own Internet connection at the time you experience it. Of course, connections are dynamic and constantly changing depending on resource usage and availability.
  7. Hmmmm interesting. At least you got to go somewhere! Some people are left on an actual, literal cruise to nowhere due to inclement weather that doesn't allow them to get off on any port. I guess we should just take what you can get because it can always be worse! And things could have gone wrong, which in your case they didn't.
  8. Doesn't sound appealing in the slightest. Cruising is what it is because it's a luxury, a vacation, something to be enjoyed on occasion. Not something you spend months on months doing, with it seemingly never ending (for 6+ months). That just sounds like hell to me peraonally, being stuck on a vessel in the middle of nowhere for months on end with thousands of random people who will run you over the soonest chance they get, and no where to get away or off unless you want to swim with the fish as shark bait! Cool for those who are into that I guess. I'll just stick with my few cruises every year where I can have a nice break from the motion and the endless people/crowds/lines/etc. after a few days! It's always more than enough for me.
  9. Then don't buy it. Don't get the complaints, it's a gift shop on a cruise ship of all places. Smh.
  10. I got one today too for one that was a balcony but at the very front of the ship which I'm not a fan of. And for over $300! No thank you.
  11. Usually 24-48 hrs of debarkation for me. But within 72 hours or 1 week is what they say I think. Something like that.
  12. Yes, I've ordered Cuban coffees and other espresso drinks there. They're delicious! Havana Bar is open to all. And specialty coffee is included with Cheers!
  13. Ooh. Even worse in that case. I could have sworn I read there was some regulation about it there and that's why they had to do this in certain places.
  14. It's just only been rolled out to the remaining ships in the past few days, per that article.
  15. Truly some of the dumbest laws/rules on the books. Especially coming from such states like Texas that love to claim they have so much "freedom". 🤣 What an oxymoron.
  16. It's actually proven very successful, and is in fact helping to reduce crowds and wait times on debarkation day. It is rolled out fleetwide now. By all accounts, it is more convenient and efficient than the traditional method. Available via the Carnival Hub app, Digital Debark enables passengers to schedule their debarkation time, reducing crowds and wait times on the final morning of the cruise. It also provides passengers with more control over when they choose to leave the ship. https://www.cruisehive.com/carnival-cruise-line-completes-roll-out-of-digital-debark/127194
  17. 2024 bookings are at record levels, and you're surprised sailings are sold-out for a month that's only a few days away? Excursions should still show up, but again, with record bookings and spend, it would not surprise me at all to see most excursions sold-out as well. That does not mean nothing might become available though. People can cancel, either sailings or excursions, and one become available.
  18. I guess it pays to read what you sign huh.. Who would have thought!
  19. Humanity being in the pits as usual. Imagine complaining and whining about a 4 hour bus ride when most people have to fly and/or drive (longer than 4 hours!!) to their cruises anyway, and right after a disaster just happened where an entire community and local economy has been affected, impacting thousands if not millions along with some families losing their loved ones. People need to get out of their own heads for once and remind themselves the world doesn't revolve around them and their entitlement.
  20. There is just no way an Excel class is going to NOLA anytime soon. Sorry, but a Vista class would go there before an Excel. Size isn't even an issue, it's the port and pax who would need to fill the ship that is the issue. No way they would jump all the way to their largest when they can test out a Vista class one first to see if it's feasible and worthwhile for them. If NOLA was that undeserved Carnival would have already done something about it before going straight to an Excel class. NOLA pax aren't coming with the revenue they could be seeing by making Mardi Gras a shorter 3-4/5-6 day itinerary going to Celebration Key while the new Excel class takes over for it in Port Canaveral on its current itinerary and Excel #5 could go to Miami. Wouldn't surprise me to see 2x Excel in Miami, with Celebration moving to shorter itineraries. And maybe some seasonal routes from other cities with Mardi Gras.
  21. As someone else already said, the answer is yes. It's standard for your luggage to be left out beside your cabin door propped up against the wall on embarkation day when having a porter bring them on for you. They are able to manage and get by that way or it wouldn't be allowed I'd think, but I do try to lean it up as close to the wall as possible to allow as much space as can be for stewards and their carts. Also, typically the night before debarkation, if you choose to have your luggage taken off the ship for you, they also have you leave it out in the hall beside your cabin door for them to retrieve that night in preparation for debarkation the next morning.
