  1. Can anyone share what areas they do not allow you to photograph during the non-Latitudes, fee-based longer BTS tour? For instance, are you allowed to take photos in the engine room or bridge areas? Thanks in advance!
  2. Can anyone elaborate on where else the photo ops are limited on the paid BTS? Specifically, were you able to take photos in the engine room and bridge?
  3. Shameless and disgusting... I think you're right about them needing to call security. That behavior is just unacceptable... what a nerve?!
  4. To be fair, some of what people described in this thread have been pretty egregious... like the the group breaking through a locked entry to get a better view of the lighthouse show on the Divina, all the extra non-YC people in line at the Seafood Extravaganza on the Seascape and the group of 8 non-YCers screaming, swearing at YC guests through the glass door on the Meraviglia. Fortunately, incidents this bad seem to be quite rare... and even though they don't quite measure up to the Visigoths sacking Rome (or do they, haha), I can see how YC guests would find them disturbing and upsetting. Fingers crossed that we all continue to have mostly peaceful YC cruises going forward and that MSC finds a way to control any problems (big and small) the few times things go off the rails with interlopers.
  5. I was just curious what their recent experience was. We tend to cruise with MSC every 2 or 3 years and I think I may have seen it happen once on the YC pool deck. People have gotten pretty shameless these days. 🙃
  6. During your 14 days, did you observe any intrusions by interlopers into areas of the Yacht Club?
  7. Yesterday, we booked our third(& fourth) MSC cruise(s) for Thanksgiving 2024 (two 7-day b2bs). Every few years, we do a Caribbean getaway around T-Day and MSC fits the bill price-wise compared to NCL. We've been in the Yacht Club each time because the pricing was good and NCL was just so expensive for their Haven cabins on the same itineraries in the Caribbean. MSC is quite different from NCL but we've enjoyed it very much each time... keeping in mind that we're not big on needing entertainment and what MSC had to offer was more than adequate for us. Checking in at the Yacht Club tent makes boarding so very easy and stressless... our experience here has been better than the Haven check ins so far. Also, having breakfast and lunch options available up on the YC pool deck is a major asset... not sure if they have that on the Meraviglia YC pool deck, but we've had that on the Seaside, Seashore and it will also be there on our upcoming Seascape cruises. We did the status match about 6 years ago (when MSC was more generous) and got matched to their Diamond tier right off the bat (we're NCL Platinum). They've since chintzed out on that aspect as they realized the error of their ways but it's not really a big deal because you don't really get all that much all things considered as other have mentioned. I hope you love your upgrade... It's a great chance to experience the YC life and nothing is stopping you from experiencing the rest of the ship as much or as little as you like. Congrats and ENJOY!!! PS And may the good weather Gods be with you! ðŸĪž PPS Will be very interested in hearing your impressions on your return!
  8. And thanks to the OP, TrumpyNor and EVERYONE else who wrote about their recommendations regarding what to do (and what NOT to do) in these ports. I will be saving this thread for future guidance...and rereading just for fun/laughs!
  9. Deja vu! The same thing happened to me flying home from Iceland a number of years ago. The views of Greenland (especially the glaciers approaching the sea) were spectacular and I was just too awestruck to sleep or close the window shade! Sadly, the airport chaos at your departure was also deja vu, sigh. There was a shoulder to shoulder stampede to get on the plane. Can we expect any further comments about your trip? Did I miss the part about the "souvenir not taken"? My apologies if so.
  10. I may be in the same position in a little over two months... my husband is very tall and had two knee replacements last year... I was able to get him into a business class seat to Europe so he wouldn't be crippled by the time we got there. They were only offering one seat at the lowest price I had seen all year. Since then the prices have gone up, up and up. I already warned him I would be sitting in steerage if prices don't come down in the next month. We too can deal with some alone time if need be!
  11. Yikes... I suppose that's slightly better than if you had been in a library or a church. 😂. Sorry to create a ruckus! ðŸĪŠ
  12. I'll be on a cruise in Nov that goes from Rome to Lisbon (both EU ports with a lot of other EU ports in between) BUT it also stops at Gibraltar (non-EU British territory). I would assume the stop at Gibraltar would make this cruise a NON-intra EU sailing. How would this impact the Spanish VAT implementation on this cruise?
  13. I figured as much and was hoping that was the reason for any delays. More important for you to savor and digest every last moment...
  14. You're such a tease! ðŸĪĢ I'm sure I'm not the only one on tenterhooks awaiting the answers to these fascinating questions. What tantalizing revelations are we in for? PS I will be so sorry when this trip is over... it's been a wonderful read and has me hankering to go to all the places you've been and eat tons of cake... and I hardly ever eat cake/dessert so that's saying a whole lot.
  15. I believe the highlighted yellow section in the quote is incorrect. Per NCL's web site, none of the Prima or Viva Haven Owners Suites with Large Balcony has a hot tub. 12322 and 12926 do not have BATH tubs like the other Haven Owners Suite with Large Balconies do.
  16. Nice try NCL... glad you were persistent. That's my middle name when things don't make a lick of sense. 😀 Thanks for all the replies!
  17. Yes, thanks... I'm aware of that. The airfare and some other things can complicate things. I have a relatively "streamlined" reservation with no extra perks like airfare and have repriced successfully multiple times prior to final payment. I just wanted to know how best to go about the process of requesting the FCC these days.
