  1. No one has been in the Sun Princess yet so no way to compare. Sailings start this weekend. I can give you my thoughts on the ship by the middle of April. I’m sure there will be tons of posts on the Princess board starting next week since Princess has does nothing to promote this ship.
  2. I’ll let you know after my cruise in April. I have one on deck 17. I don’t expect a lot of people using them. I’m concerned most about secret smokers but hopefully it goes out to sea.
  3. The original deck plans made it seem like only deck 17 had an aft view on the balcony. Now it looks like all decks have the same little space to view the wake. Still horrified that Princess wasted the aft view on a stair case.
  4. I wish I could see his aft! 🤪
  5. Thanks for disputing. I shouldn’t have even posted without my own research.
  6. My husband said that he saw on FB that they did the handoff today and people on the 18th cruise got a confirmation that their cruise is on! I am NOT verifying that information, just passing it on. I would love for someone to confirm. I can’t wait to start seeing pictures from passengers!!
  7. I think what you are saying is that a British Isles cruise is all about small villages and dramatic scenery. I get it. And I am looking forward to that part and will get it with this cruise. But was just trying to figure which itinerary to do as there are so many different ones with different ports. Didn’t mean to offend. (and by “small villages” I meant some of the ones in Iceland and such with 10 buildings, not something like Cobh.)
  8. Thanks for the feedback! (Budget isn’t an issue. Life is about experiences while you are here)
  9. Wow! Life suddenly got busy and I didn't have time to come back here. Here are some things to give you an idea of the type of cruisers we are. For a cruise like this, we are going to learn as much about the history and culture of the area as well as scenic beauty. We never do cruise sponsored tours but hire private tour guides in every port. We like to stay away the overly touristy spots but will do the "must sees" that an area is known for. We prefer to have lunch in a place where the locals eat. But we don't like tours to be 8 hours long so things that are a long drive from the port aren't of interest to us. Small villages aren't really our interest either. We appreciate natural beauty but want something more than just that. I guess my original question was more about if this is are only British Isles cruise ever, what are the places we should go to get the most experience of this area of the world. I appreciate any and all answers!!
  10. Can you show me where they have officially stated that they are sailing on the 18th?
  11. WOW! I can't believe I asked it that way as I would have also responded if some else posted it with "tell me what interests you". 🙂 Off to work but I will follow up when I get a chance. Also I will check out John Bull's post.
  12. I know this is personal preference and sort of a vague question. But what are the must do ports on this type of cruise. There are different options and I am a little overwhelmed.
  13. Thanks! Crossing my fingers you are a go!
  14. It looks like the venue for Traditional is larger than for Dine you Way. Very disappointing for me if I have to less options for reservations But again, it's all just speculation for now. We will see how it works. I still can't find Butcher's Block on the deck plans. Anyone have any idea?
  15. The Elite/Plantinum lounge is more of a "cocktail hour". It's not a dedicated lounge all the time. And the Sun WILL have a specific suite full time lounge but they have not mentioned any type of full time lounge for Elites/Plantinum. I wouldn't expect anything.
  16. The Sun is a new ship and hasn’t started sailing yet. Any answers would just be speculation.
  17. Great attitude Dides!! Sorry you missed out. Enjoy those 11 sea days. The things I could do (or not do!🤪) with 11 sea days!!
  18. They had the burger lunch on the Apex on sea days last March but not three months later on the same ship in Scandinavia. We didn’t know why. Sounds like it may be at the discretion of someone with bars on their shoulder or that wear a tall hat. 🤪
  19. Yes! There is either a dedicated exit for you or... One time we had an early flight because the airline change it. We were in a suite and right before disembarkation we were escorted to the front of the Walk Off line and were the first two off the ship. Those right behind us probably were in line for over an hour. We showed up in the concierge lounge 15 minutes before we left the ship. It was a great perk. Even without a true suite lounge, there will be a place for you to meet and be escorted off.
  20. Make them make sure the suite concierge actually does something and you’ll be fine. It totally depends on your suite concierge.
  21. Plus be aware that some dividers actually block the door to the balcony when open. VERY bad design.
