  1. I have to say that there doesn’t seem to be a lot listed in the daily activities sheet at night. I’m used to a lot more choices for listening to live music on a Celebrity ship. Are there more things in the app? The comedian wasn’t listed which is why I think that.
  2. Not much comes with it other than a place to store your stuff and get out of the rain or heat. But it’s nice to have your own area. If you don’t get the food package then you walk over to the buffet like everyone else. They do have waiters that come around but if you drink fast you may need to go up to the bar on your own. But if you don’t have the drink package you are paying for drinks just as on the ship. You do get priority tender tickets to get over their sooner. They assign you a cabana and you find out which one when you get over to the beach right off the tender.
  3. Back to the original poster... There is no need to put money on your account before you sail. You will give them a credit card before embarkation and anything you charge to your room (casino or otherwise) will be added to your account. At the end of the cruise they will charge your credit card for our account balance.
  4. I think they are also on weekend schedules all the time now which means longer waits between trains and more people in the cars, especially during rush hour.
  5. No, seriously. The subway system is a complete mess right now. They are shutting parts of it down for a month because it’s so bad. Fires. Crashes. A person died because he was caught in the door and the train kept going! If I still had to go the office every day I am not sure what I would do for a month. But I hear you. In general, we have a good public transit system. Just not right now for the 2022 New England/Canada cruise season.
  6. Not right now it’s not! We are having major issues with our subway system and they are going to shut down one line for 30 days. And our cabs are old and small. Very hard for someone like me to get in and out of. I would suggest Uber or Lyft. Traffic is always bad but if it’s not rush hour it’s okay. The subway system is a mess right now.
  7. I was taken aback (but not offended) by the “friends of Dorothy” comment. I haven’t seen that in a long time!!
  8. Still good. I’ve brought chips from one ship to another no problem. I got sick at the end of a cruise and didn’t cash them out. Just brought them on my next cruise and started using them. I guarantee you that people will jump on this thread and say that’s not possible but I’m living proof it is.
  9. Have seen them in action in the casino? (Rhetorical question based on your post). It’s very coordinated and monitored. Why do you think the casino has to be involved in Bingo.
  10. Absolutely not! They will want you to use the casino. Now, if you are discreet and the don’t find out, how would they know?🤫. But if you ask them, they will definitely say no. And it’s also probably illegal. Gaming is highly regulated.
  11. Do you need to make a reservation for hanging out on the net on the bow of the ship (Royal Clipper)? How does that work?
  12. We have never used a TA but did for my husbands 60th in March since we have 6 cabins. There’s no difference once you get onboard right? My travel agent messed up really bad and if I didn’t catch the mistake myself we would have had one less cabin and wouldn’t have realized until final payment. I want to switch back to the company but at this point why bother. It’s fixed and they can’t screw anything else up. I think.
  13. So how did you do it? Talk to Celebrity? Talk to the agent?
  14. I have a GREAT cruise planner with Celebrity (as well as one with Princess). He calls me back right right away and there is no sitting on hold for hours. And to be honest, I had a horrible experience with a bulk purchaser. A so called “weathly cruiser” agency told me that “these are the cabins I have, either take them or don't. I’m not doing extra work for you”. Not the “wealthy” experience I was looking for or willing to pay extra for. I booked this through them because I have a bunch of cabins that I’m paying for myself. I wish I did it myself now.
  15. I hear ya. But after 4 World Series in the last 18 years, I don’t hate the Yankees as much as I used to. 😎
  16. Just had a really bad experience with my travel agent and my booking was almost really messed up. Luckily I caught their mistake and had it corrected. I know that people book with Celebrity sometimes and then move it to a travel agent. But I can do it the other way around? Could the travel agent just delete my booking? Will they charge me a penalty? I never use a TA and would rather deal with my Celebrity Planner who is much more proactive and responsive. (I didn't have a Planner at the time and needed some help.) They didn't give me any special deal or anything like that. It's the straight Celebrity pricing from the website.
  17. I’m glad it works for you. We sleep with one every night. Doesn’t work for my husband.
  18. Yes, our research has confirmed what you have said. But it’s a 1 in 8 chance of getting that “bad” cabin and we don’t want to risk it. It would ruin our vacation. We have a great Sky Suite and can’t wait!
  19. Spoken by someone who doesn’t have a sleeping problem. Trust me, I get it. I tell my husband all the time, just close your eyes and go to sleep. It’s not that easy. A white noise machine will not cover up the noise from the deck above starting at 6am for light sleepers.
  20. Yes, we are talking about the two Celebrity Suites on 9. We would love bid on a Celebrity Suite but wont risk being assigned the ones on deck 9. Other people brought up the "upper suites". (And I would stick with 6131, OP. We've been there and the balcony is great!)
  21. We just got a move up offer for a Celebrity Suite with the maximum bid WAY under what we are willing to pay for it. But the thought of being on Deck 9 made me not take it. LOVE CS on the Summit. But won’t risk it.
  22. I’m on the June 25th Apex cruise. The title of the cruise still says Scandinavia and Russia but if you go into the cruise details they have altered it to exclude St. Petersburg.
  23. Just got word that our cruise in June 2023 has already been shifted to exclude Russia. I’m okay with that.
  24. He was amazing! So many wonderful cruises with him. I know we ALL wish him well in his retirement.
  25. Sorry, we hated it. And this was years ago so it may be different. Since Chef Boulder made dishes for Luminae, they just served us different plates from that menu. When we did it on Princess, the chef may a special amazing dinner just for us. Would never do it gain on Celebrity. But that is only my opinion. You may really like it. I think we were just spoiled on Princess. I think this is one of the three things that Princess does better. Celebrity wins all the others!
