Building on its last Allura-class ship in 2025, Oceania Cruises is scheduled to take delivery of two 86,000gt vessels with capacity for 1,400 passengers each in 2027 and 2029.
Sisters Vista and 2025's Allura are currently Oceania's largest ships, measuring 67,000gt with capacity for 1,200 passengers.

We have sailed on this exact size ship with two other lines (Azamara and Princess before RCL sold Azamara and Princess sold their two r class ships Ocean and Pacific). We enjoyed those cruises and were part of our decision to do French Polynesia on this size ship. The energy level on those cruises were much higher than on this one. Sleeping on recliners around the pool, which seems to be the favorite activity for many, is not our thing.

For that matter we were on an even smaller ship in Greece last fall and found it more engaging.

Do not know why this cruise on Oceania seems so sedate compared to our previous experiences on this size and smaller ships. Including other cruises in the same area. The only passengers are nice enough and conversations interesting.

Itinerary matters.  I won't do the Caribbean anymore as it has a very different cliental versus those itineraries out of say Istanbul or Oslo. And for me, not in a good way.  However, I see you are in New Zealand.  Maybe a one off?

Also not sure if this is a complete list of Transatlantics.

I have noticed gaps in the itineraries offered.  Not sure if they are charters (this far out) or just an incomplete schedule.

Rumor is O’s time frame will be between 24-36 months to maintain benefits. We’ll know within a month.

As someone who mainly does land vacations, one cruise every three years to maintain credits and their benefits is okay. If they lower it two one cruise every two years, then it would be problematic, especially if they don't take into consideration length, cost, etc of the cruise.  We generally take longer, more expensive cruises with unique itineraries.

  5. If we are dining alone, we refuse the bread basket while on Oceania. I know we won't eat it and it is wasteful to have it placed on the table knowing that we will not touch it. We enjoyed it on the first few sailings, but we enjoy dessert more than the bread, so the bread had to go.

I fully intend to take leftovers back to my cabin in a baggie. Is it really a “ no no”?  I’m a grazer I can’t eat a lot at once, but after an hour or two, I want to eat again

Yes, that is a no no.

Have you been told this is true or are you assuming the reason? Maybe, like so many things with Oceania, they handle this inconsistently. I put in for shareholder credit for 3 cruises at the same time, all well ahead of final payment date. One was  3 months away, one was 9 months away and one was over 18 months away. Received the credit for all 3 promptly.

I just know that I have seen others posting on here that their paperwork was rejected because it was too far in the future.  No one was able to determine just what the cut off date was but certainly 18 months out would be way 'out of the range'. I would be curious if someone with just one cruise 18 months out would be successful.

Where or when would I see if my application for on board credit has been approved?  Has been several weeks since I sent in paperwork.

You don't say when you are cruising.

If your cruise is a many months, a year out, they will not give you the credit.  They want to know you own the stock at time of sailing so you must submit it closer to your cruise date.

Whatever floats your boat…err ship.  My only concern following said cruise would be unclothed skin on furniture - cuz “eww”!. Surely they must sit in towels?? 😬

We are booked in a A3 cabin on the Marina next year, it had been my understanding that all of the cabins were getting cabin and bathroom refurbishing with the dry docking in April, has this changed? If this is the case I am not too pleased about this.

    Dear Travel Partner,
We have an important update regarding the first six sailings of Allura’s inaugural season scheduled for the summer of 2025. We have been informed by the shipyard that Allura’s delivery will be delayed. As a result, we will need to cancel her scheduled sailings in June and July of next year. We are as disappointed as you are yet will eagerly await her July arrival.
Travel Advisors and guests impacted by this delay will be notified directly over the next two days. Guests will automatically receive a 100% refund as well as a special rebook offer on a future sailing.
A new 12-day inaugural voyage for Allura is planned, commencing on July 24, 2025, from Athens, Greece, to Monte Carlo, Monaco. This new inaugural sailing will open for sale beginning Monday, February 12. Guests who were booked on one of the now-canceled sailings will have early access to this new inaugural voyage one week prior.

I am appalled by Oceania’s attitude about this cruise. I have already been to the Greek isles and I live in Florida so I have no desire to sit by a pool for 9 days. I also don’t feel safe being in the Red Sea while a US naval destroyer is shooting down missiles and our state department has issued a “caution”.
Oceana is willing to give us a future credit but not a credit for our business air, hotel which totals $12,000 out of our pockets!!!!

That is what travel insurance is for.  Have you contacted your insurer?

Ok guess they all do it post covid, but why?

Pre covid when cruise lines were in the "green", it rarely happened,  when it did, it was in the news.

I have missed ports pre-covid.  Some ports that were the whole reason we booked the cruise. Easter Island being an example.  And at no time was it 'in the news'.
