Coming in from the east you should be fine. The Channelside area where the port is isn't really effected by Gasparilla as far as closures or detours. The road closures and detours start more just outside the port area to the west near downtown and South Tampa / Bayshore area. With that being said be prepared for the crowds and traffic it brings.... Gasparilla Tampa is one of the largest pirate parades in the United States. And, it's more than just a parade. It's now a festival with several events leading up to the Parade of Pirates' main event. An average of 300,000 people attend this event every year, and many people attend it every year.

It's in a very industrial location and you may want to look at Google reviews as one very recent review from 3 days ago mentions the hotel currently being under renovation....."The hotel was undergoing major renovations on the 5th floor where the restaurant, bar and gift shop are located so that took away from the overall experience".

They are good areas with lots restaurants close by but if cruising I prefer more the Riverwalk/Channelside area which is right by the cruise port. Say like the hotels around the Tampa Marriott Water St location...there is so much around that area to do in walking distance....and you have the free Teco Street Car to get around also. You have all the downtown Tampa attractions as well as a quick trolley ride to Ybor if you like....and you are right there for your cruise.

Having lived just blocks from that hotel for a couple years.....it's not a hotel or location I would recommend.

Was on Allure last Dec and food was terrible. Have been on several sailings post COVID....first one was on Celebrity Edge....food was very good.....even when compared to pre-covid on Royal, Celebrity did/does a much better job with food. Was on Odyssey last year and food was good....then Allure a few months later and could really see the difference.....decline with the food.

Haven't packed a sport jacket or suit for a cruise since the inaugural sailing of the Oasis.

Never....that parking lot at terminal 18 is plenty big....never seen it close to capacity.....and I have parked there many times. For a ship that has a capacity of 6000 you would never know it from the parking lot....guess most fly in.

The description says it goes to Ybor and University Of Tampa.. The property of UT is beautiful...sits right along Riverwalk. Ybor is a historic part of Tampa...just not so sure how much going on if you are there very early in the day.

I was all the way at the end of CoCoCay years ago in the quieter section before all the additions of the water park....laying in a beach chair that I had placed in the water and had a small 2-3' shark swim right under the chair as I was laying in it.

One of the reasons I have always stayed out of Windjammer on Oasis class.

Its not an easy walk...there really aren't many sidewalks in Port Everglades. Terminal 18 parking is so simple and I am very anal with where I park my car and have always just used the open lot when sailing out of terminal 18.

Marriott Water St has laundry listed as amenities 😉

Port of Tampa is as easy as any cruise port gets.

Haven't stayed or visited Hilton Marina for a few years. I think it's OK for a 1 night pre or post cruise but if anything longer than that it wouldn't be big on my list.

Lived in FLL for several years. While 17th street is convenient to the port it is seriously one of the most commercial/touristy places to stay in FLL...there are so many better locations and hotels. Look around Las Olas or Ocean Blvd...so much nicer location with many restaurants and bars and offers the real Fort Lauderdale vibe.

A wet drier sheet works wonders to remove them from your car.
