  1. Thanks for your great review, Greg. I really enjoyed it. Twelve pounds doesn’t sound too bad, considering all the food and drink from those packages. Heck, I probably gained at least four, just looking at all the food and drink pictures. 🤣🤣
  2. I took my daughter and granddaughter to her cheerleading game today. The two school districts that were playing are only a couple miles from each other, but they were playing on a neutral site, and that meant about a 30 mile drive. The cheerleaders were dressed with pink highlights for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. She is not old enough to understand what is going on with her mom. She was just happy to have the pretty pinks and the face sticker. That game did have some tense moments. They usually have medical personnel at the game, but I don’t know if someone dropped the ball because it was a neutral field. One of our players went down with a neck injury, and he laid on the field for 20 minutes until the ambulance got there. Thankfully, I hear his MRI came back clear. The team she cheers for won 30-8. Meanwhile, Susan went to our grandson’s game. He had another great game, and another win 22-6.
  3. We parked there for a B2B in January, and it was easy to get to. The problem was, they didn’t open the garage to let you start parking there until noon, if I recall. I don’t know if that is the way it normally is. We had to drive around in circles till we could park. We also encountered a problem with their app to pay for parking after the cruise. It was going to charge for the equivalent of 5 weeks or so, so I just took the ticket to the exit lane. There, the ticket registered for only one week instead of two, so who knows what goes on with their system.
  4. My Daughter-in-law was a professor at UB when they were living in Williamsville. We always enjoyed great Muffaletos from Marco’s Italian Deli, and that was our Go to sandwich when we visited them. I just pulled up Marco’s menu, and it looks like they no longer have them on the menu. Too bad, because it would be worth the trip to have one again.
  5. I think someone here mentioned about getting calls, after they retired, to help with things at their old office. Yesterday was my turn. One of the new owners called and asked if I could come in and give them some guidance on a government project they are working on. I was surprised how easy it was to slip back into that role, and I spent a few hours with them. Of course, traffic was bad, and some people just couldn’t get up to the speed limit. After spending some time there, I picked up Susan from my daughter’s house, and we did some walking. I can’t believe how many of these we have seen lately, but they are moving more for mating season. (Yes, there are 4 deer visible and one hiding in this picture) No pictures of dinner out, but after seeing Greg post all those great looking drinks, I had to have one. A Carmel Appletini. Today, football games and cheering, so we are headed in different directions this morning.
  6. My Go to appetizer at Chops has always been the black pepper bacon. I love it, and could make a meal out of just that.
  7. The news had some reporting from Matlacha, showing that they lost that bridge too. You had to cross it to get to Pine Island, which is where St. James City is. When my parents were alive, they had a place on Pine Island. This bridge is not as big as the one to Sanibel, but replacing bridges will take some time. I would think they may bring in temporary bridges so people have access.
  8. My laughing at a funeral story. Several years ago, one of our good friend’s dad, Jack, passed away, and we went to his memorial service. Jack had been cremated, and his ashes were in a very ornate box, that was at the alter in the church. It was then that Susan saw the box, and she leaned over to me, and in a not so quiet voice said “ Is that Jack in the Box?” Of course, everyone around us heard and started chuckling.
  9. Happy birthday to Micheline. I hope she is back to 100% for the crossing to Hawaii.
  10. The suspension bridge park looks like a great place to visit. I could see us going there.
  11. Since I have not posted much lately, how about a vehicle related story? It involves things I didn’t know about or even thought about. We started noticing a funky smell in one of our Toyota SUVs. At first, I thought maybe one of the grandkids spilled something, but there were no obvious signs of a spill. In the process of cleaning, I pull out the weather tech mats, and one is wet, on the underside. So now I am thinking, how could they make a spill and not get any IN the mat? In the commercials everything ends up there, and not in the carpet. Well, the carpet was soaked, but where was it coming from? It turns out, it was from clogged sun roof drains. I never even thought about there being drains for the sunroof, let alone them getting clogged. I mean, we rarely even open our sunroof, unless it is to let our granddaughter climb out it to the roof to be patriotic. How much rain or debris can find it’s way in. When I opened the sunroof and looked in the corners, they are filled with water since it isn’t draining, and the water in the drains was finding its way to the floor and soaking the carpet. In the Toyotas they route these drains through the “A” pillars and “B” pillars. I can’t believe how much junk I got out of the drain and where it outlets. Another problem solved, but I would have to question why Toyota would route their drains where they do. So a word to the wise, check your drains. It took me a couple days lifting carpet, running fans and dehumidifier to dry it out. I assume all makes have some kind of drain. Now I know. Of course, in Florida today, I think a lot of cars will end up with soaked carpet, and this will probably not be the cause.
  12. I had thought about booking it, but with everything that is happening, that would have just been a sixth cruise to cancel. We canceled everything through our May TA. I am sure we will be back cruising by next fall. We have a few FCC’s to use. Enjoying your review.
  13. The Disney car lasted about an hour at the curb, before someone snapped it up. Our granddaughter had a lot of fun with it for a few years. I saw a couple smaller ones that people had put out, and those disappeared pretty quick too.
  14. I hope it is nothing serious, and you can get it resolved before the next cruise.
