  1. Yes, this year in Sept and again in Oct
  2. It states one per stateroom but we’ve each received and used the $10 coupon in the casino and they were fine with it. They won’t even apply it to your account until you’ve each played $20. Who knows, it could win you the jackpot? Always be an optimist!
  3. On the Discovery, it is Rock Opera and Spotlight Bar, two of my all time favorites.
  4. Come on now people! It took no less than 2 dozen posts for this to go sideways … this is about your favorite things. There are plenty of threads on which you are able to post your complaints.
  5. Is there no smoking on cruise ships in Australia? I may have to consider one if that’s the case!
  6. By far, my favorite thing about Princess cruises is meeting the fantastic crew. I could list more but the crew is really the reason we cruise so often with Princess.
  7. DELAYED EMBARKATION Please be advised that due to an increased amount of silt buildup at our assigned cruise berth and severe low spring tidal levels in San Francisco Bay, Crown Princess will not have the necessary under-keel clearance necessary to berth on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, in the early afternoon. As a result, your embarkation has been delayed. Check-in will begin at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, December 12, and embarkation will begin at 8:30 PM. Please do not arrive early as seating in the terminal is limited. Guests who arrive early may leave their luggage and enjoy the surrounding area. All guests must be aboard by 10:30 PM. They will have to be there anyway for the disembarking passengers … they won’t send them home only to return in a couple hours.
  8. I believe the porters will be there to grab your luggage for you. The ship may not be there yet. So, this is odd .. no notice to the disembarking passengers on the current cruise from what I’ve read. That may be harder to deal with for those that are flying back home tomorrow.
  9. We get several for each cruise, even ones that are sold out. Want I’m waiting for is a move over offer on the sold out cruise. I never can get enough of those offers.
  10. It will cover a meal at Boudin’s on Fisherman’s Wharf, which is where you would find me. Seriously though, it may be rough for those that are flying in or have to be out of their hotels by 11:00 AM. At least the weather is to be decent in SF tomorrow.
  11. My DH bought a tux many years ago and has worn it at least 100 times over the years. Complimentary dry cleaning helps. Well, he certainly got his money’s worth out of it but I haven’t seen him in it in the last 10-15 years. Very few men are wearing tuxes anymore. If he wears a tux, he won’t be laughed at or he probably won’t even feel out of place, although some may think he works onboard unless you are on his arm. 😆 It’s nice for photos but if you don’t much care about that, you may just want to leave the tux at home.
  12. Bit, the casinos on Celebrity have been nonsmoking for years and it is a big money maker for them, as well. When we had to mask, I was in the casino much more often that I go now. On many ships, there is are so few poker machines in the nonsmoking area, plus, no multi play poker machines. And, they are oftentimes full on the nonsmoking side. The Royal is the only ship that Princess has that has an actual non smoking portion of the casino.
  13. I can respect you have a different opinion. I believe that most, if not all, nonsmokers will agree with my point of view and passengers that frequented Churchills as a smoking lounge will probably agree with your point of view. My DH enjoys a good cigar every so often. There is no way he would have ever visited Churchills to smoke, much less sit in there around with others that were smoking. He would definitely go outside instead. As for cigarettes, I could only hope this is a good sign for making the casino a nonsmoking venue. Maybe? One can dream!
  14. Thank you for that. I actually have to limit myself to two of those on each cruise .. otherwise, I’d be needing a new wardrobe. But wow, they really are so good! They had such awful wine choices on the Diamond when I was on there earlier this year. That’s when I discovered this baccarat. We were with a group of friends so ever since then, whenever we cruise together, we all have one as our embarkation drink to celebrate.
  15. I really love fish, my DH can take it or leave it. Even he loved the Catch, although he ordered the steak and lobster. Dover sole is one of my absolute favorites and it used to be on the Sabatini’s old menu but they’ve replaced it with a less desirable fish. Sadly, I now have no reason to make reservations there. The prep of their sole was just incredible when we last had it there. Not sure if you would be so inclined but if you get a chance to steal some sea bass off your hubby’s plate, it is also incredible.
  16. Yummmmm and I almost forgot to mention that the berries at the Catch for dessert are just perfect!
  17. oh my .. I can’t wait to be back onboard for that alone. I also love the Concerto pasta and sea bass there .. oh, too many good things to mention. It’s all so very good. Glad you are enjoying it. BTW, I’ve only seen the Baccarat martini at Crooners. But, if you tell them the ingredients, they may be able to make one for you elsewhere. It is: Blackberry Brandy Raspberry Vodka Frangelico (Garnd Mariner was used in a pinch and it was good, too, even though a different flavor) Raspberry Purée (if they don’t have it, strawberry will work in a pinch), light on the purée Cream Well shaken to get small ice chips through the martini strainer into a martini glass. It comes with a sugared rim but I don’t like that as much so I ask them to leave it off. Enjoy the rest of your dinner … I don’t see how you can’t! it looks heavenly!
  18. I really want to book a cruise on the new Sun Princess. she looks like she will be fabulous. But, as others have said, I just can’t handle the smoking in the casino. Princess used to at least have non smoking nights but not anymore. It is their only downfall in my opinion.
  19. And there is where the problem can be with bidding. You must be happy with every single room within the category you are bidding on. We will make bids on the premium cabins on the Grand/Crown class ships because regardless of where they put us, it would be fine. But now, if you have a BD cabin on the Caribe deck, you might be placed in the cabin next door and pay for that privilege. For the most part, I don’t bid .. but a few times, I’ve taken the chance.
  20. It sure is expensive to live here! From what I understand, prices are high all along the coast now.
  21. I’m from the Midwest … I much prefer the weather here in California. We only have to learn to live with a some shaky shaky from time to time. 😆
  22. An my sister is one state north of you and they got snow yesterday. I believe that the SF Bay Area has the best weather in the entire world!
  23. Come to think of it, that’s exactly what happened! It did show that I had a dining credit so I thought it was all good. But, now they are having a hard time finding the charge. Thank you for explaining that, though.
  24. After living close to the SF Bay for quite a few years, I also think 66° F is gorgeous weather. It’s picnic time for us!
  25. My charge is before my cruise and for $78. I’ve had decent luck contesting extra charges on the post cruise concerns online. But, with this pre-cruise charge, I’m having a devil of a time with them figuring it out. I’ve contacted Princess through their online issues, then via their chat line and then took it to my CVP and nobody can find that they actually charged me. However, it’s on my credit card as a charge. My CVP is going to turn it over to their IT dept. If I don’t hear anything back within a couple of weeks, I will then dispute the charge via my credit card. I’m sure it was for a specialty dining reservation for which dining credits should have applied.
