  1. Ok. I hope the issues get worked out. Enjoy your 5 cruises. That's so awesome!
  2. I have been lucky to not have any problems like that with MSC. Booking was fine. Cabin did not change. IT was not an issue. Customer service prior to cruise and during cruise were both great. Will be on another MSC ship in a couple months. So far, no issues for this sailing either. Looking forward to it. Happy sailing.
  3. Yes, can people please stop leaving their plates, leftover food, and trash in the halls. Looks so trashy when walking by. The room steward will remove it from the room. That just gets to me. Looks really bad walking down halls with that stuff sitting in it.
  4. Oh that looks like a cruise I would choose. So many cruises across several lines are doing the Western Caribbean now. I tire of that itinerary. As someone posted earlier, having that long day in PR is better than on many itineraries that have PR. Maybe I will see you on the cruise. Hahahaha.
  5. Anyone have a recent Cruise Compass and show schedule for the Symphony? Most interested in the first couple days. Also, what are the theme days? Thanks!
  6. I have scanned through your two threads, not sure if there are more about this situation. I also travel solo. I also sail in balconies when I travel solo. I have also booked guarantees IF that option was WAY cheaper than purchasing an assigned cabin. I ONLY book a guarantee if I truly can accept that I will get ANY balcony ANYWHERE on the ship. For some sailings, that is ok with me because of whatever factors for that specific cruise. For other sailings that is not my mindset and I must have a specific balcony cabin. I also rarely pay a full single supplement. I feel pretty confident that I've mastered, lol, how to do this whole booking a cabin as a solo. My point is that acceptance is required when booking a guarantee. I refuse to stress myself about cabin assignment once I make the choice to book a guarantee. Whatever I get, I plan to enjoy. And, I dont forget that it was my choice to buy that cabin option. As someone else said, please relax and stop stressing yourself. People book guarantees all the time. The cruise line deals with this all the time. Please dont be one of those people that calls NCL over and over about it because really it was our choice to purchase that option. Also, please dont be that person at the port when those folks are there just to move people along in the boarding process, or on Day 1 or 2 of the cruise when GS is usually slammed. My response is not intended to be critical at all. Please dont take it that way. Please relax and focus on how grateful you are for being able to cruise, being able to pay less for a balcony room, being able to vacation, and being able to enjoy time with friends. Whatever lessons are learned during this booking, you can just use for thr next booking which is also something to be grateful for. Please relax. You're going on a cruise. Worst case scenario thinking and worrying just wastes the joy of being able to focus on your upcoming cruise on a great ship! Man, wish I was cruising in one week 🌞🛳🏝🙋‍♀️🎉
  7. Slightly different question. Do you know what work is planned for the Escape drydock?
  8. Yes, totally love the Epic. Im not really sure what all the fuss is about the bathroom. It's actually a helpful setup. But, as said above, some people complain just to complain and some people are just negative. I love cruising and the Epic is a great ship for both Caribbean and Mediterranean sailings. Go enjoy and dont be deflated by negativity of other people.
  9. I usually am able to ssuccessfully and easily take care of it the first day of the cruise.
  10. Yes, worked earlier this week to view excursions for my December cruise that I just booked this week. Edit: Shoot, I was looking online, not app.
  11. I've cruised on MSC outside of the YC and have always had a great experience. It could be fun to mix it up as the OP is considering. Happy sailing everyone 🙋‍♀️🌞🛳🏝
  12. Yes, I certainly will go whenever I do a land stay. However for this cruise, due to the context of who is sailing with me, it needs to be a ship tour. So, that's what I'm working with. I'm sure I'll enjoy the night show one day. Thanks so much!
  13. Yes, I loved it earlier this year on a different line. I'm writing to ask if anyone has booked it through Royal lately. Thanks!
  14. Hello All, Has anyone that's been on a Royal cruise lately, booked the Xcaret tour or seen it offered? Just wondering if it's still an option. I know I could ask on the Ports of Call, but this forum is active and I am booked on Royal so I want to make sure the replies are specific to Royal. Sailing on the Symphony in December. Thanks!
  15. Solo cruiser here. MSC is as fine as Royal or NCL for solo cruising. It's about the person sailing, not the brand. Price wise, I never pay a full single supplement and I dont limit myself to solo studio cabins. I usually book closer to sale date because 5hat works for me. I only sail in balconies now and only 7+ night sailings. If you check prices, they can be cheaper than those tiny studios. MSC is running solo specials now. Language has not been an issue for me on MSC. Your son can do his research, book a good deal, and go do on the ship what matters to him.
  16. Are we able to get cabin upgrades if there is a price drop after final payment?
  17. Thanks all! Certainly not Yacht Club at this point. Booking less expensive cabins. Traveling solo. Thanks so much for the information. It's very helpful. Yes, getting into Miami is nail biting those last 15 minutes of that journey. I'm glad this will be much easier and less stressful.
  18. Same here about not worrying about reviews. But, people are just mentioning those reviews a lot. We all have different experiences. So, I'm focusing on having a good and relaxing experience. And to me, planning is as much fun as the actual cruising experience. Hahahha.
  19. Thanks. I'm really looking forward to being on the Meraviglia again. It's a beautiful ship. There have been negative reviews lately, but my focus is on relaxing so I think I will be ok. Thanks so much for your replies. Enjoy sailing as well 🛳🏝🙋‍♀️🌞
  20. Ok. Thanks. Odd, in the photo above it looks like a life boat is right in front of that room and maybe a little less wall. Thanks so much for sharing about your experience. I will weigh the pros and cons of that area. I certainly agree about privacy from neighbors 🙂 I'm traveling solo on this sailing, but love extra space whenever I can get it!
  21. Great. What is the cabin number? Did it have that big wall right beside it like shown in post #3 above? That wall does not look pleasant at all.
