  1. It would help if you posted what you like to eat on Regent and what venues you prefer or don't? I've met people on R that love the Pizza and eat it most days for lunch, which does not make sense to me given the $$$+ it costs per day. Some never eat in the buffet, or always eat there. Which isn't possible on R since it turns into an Italian restaurant at dinner so no option for a very casual dinner.
  2. I saw your your YT post on the other topic. At first I thought they just inserted the photo into the video. But I just watched it again full screen and it looks like a real video of the room. All the other shots in that video have the same look and are obviously real with some people. Thanks! Here's a capture at 1:24 Edit: on the CruiseNonStop website 3/9/24 trip report the below POS picture has a title that says "(Image courtesy of NCL)". Several other photos around the Haven do not have that note.
  3. This is the original rendering from before dry dock. Note the curtains are fake looking. This is from https://www.cruisecritic.com/news/norwegian-cruise-line-announces-extensive-refurbishment-for-norwegian-joy I found pictures that are different than the original NCL CADD renderings. I cannot seem to find that NCL page now that had many more. The below pic is from Cruse Deck Plans. It looks so real I wonder if its a photo taken by NCL after drydock. The drapes look real. There is much different stuff on the tables. The TV has a picture. Maybe they are just more detailed renderings out of CADD. In the above photo the dining room is different than the below early rending. The wall art looks real. The table legs are brown wood not white marble. The chairs are different and much more real looking. The chair upper appears leather not wood and has a matching leather bottom cushion. Below I'll zoom in. Rendering before Refurb from https://www.ncl.com/newsroom/norwegian-cruise-line-announces-extensive-enhancements-to-norwegian-joy Below zoomed in on dining room... Those same renderings before refurb are on NCL.com for the Joy deck plans and cabins. https://www.ncl.com/ca/en/cruise-ship/joy/staterooms/balcony
  4. Oceania is the same company with the same butler services that will not be YC. Oceania also uses Miami Terminal J so you'll have the same issue getting off.
  5. I've never been on YC so I just know what I've seen in videos on the SeaScape top suites Royal and Owner. The PS RS bathrooms appear to be the same ones as in the lower category Deluxe but with a smaller shower 1/2 the size plus an ordinary bathtub like from a Holiday Inn? Just 1 sink and the size seemed generally tight on space. Did the video distort this? The Celebrity top suites have spacious bathrooms that are luxury. They have large showers with body sprays, a whirlpool tub that is deep, and 2 sinks. The Penthouse has an insane bathroom that must be 3x the size of the MSC OS, a shower for 2 and bathtub with TV. MSC's top Owner's suite is impressive 1000+ square feet that looks very nice, large closet. Why such a small bathroom? Also no 1/2 bath which is common in top suites on X, O, R, NCL, SS. The MSC Royal suite does not appear to have Dining table?
  6. When I was on Vista in October there was 1 TechnoGym Skill Row. Its a very good copy of the Concept 2 that is heavier duty. It would be hard to add a 2nd rower as the fitness center was made smaller for a bigger Culinary Center and the new technical room. Hopefully they will fix it on Allura. I was last on RIVERA about 2 years ago and it had a BH Fitness LK500RW. The monitor is Not intuitive, you must download the manually online just to set resistance That was a stupid move to buy that rower designed for home use instead of a C2. They only cost $1200 and are built for fitness center duty. When I was on previously it had a C2 Model E. I was last on Regatta 2 or 4 years ago and it had a single C2. It's a very small fitness center.
  7. I agree very very disappointing to miss Acapulco, Cabo San Lucas and Ensenada. R gave no reason? I was recently on an O cruise that changed Acapulco to Puerto Vallarta. I would comment on the excursions: I cannot recommend SIERRA MADRE TREKKING. The description was 2+ hours of hiking but it was only 40 minutes covering 1/2 mile. The missing time was spent riding in a van and hanging out at a "5 star resort" (not) where we could buy things. Those that did the horse back riding were happy with that excursion. Got lots of time and nice trails. I saw the Jeep Safari and they looked in excellent condition and clean. I would try that. The LA DULCE VISTA RIVER CANYON RETREAT was the "5 star resort" the Trekking went and killed time at. It was no place I would want to go for 4 hours. Nobody was there I saw.
  8. The Concierge will send you to Reception to get your cards reprogrammed. They will call for approval. Suggest you go to Reception first.
  9. You will Not have access to the Concièrge Lounge. Go to Reception and tell them your reason. They will call someone and get approval, then reprogram your room cards. They need your physical cards so don't try to phone it in. As LHT said in Terrace on each side right as you enter are nice self serve coffee machine that even have a 2x Espresso button. Any staff will get it for you if you are at a table. Someone else asked.... Those machines make all the normal coffee drinks like Latte and Cappuccino in Regular or Decaf. There is plenty of room for a double or triple shot. They do Not have lids for the paper cups to reduce plastic waste. Wish I had brought a metal coffee cup with a top. Same machines and cups without lids in lounges.
  10. Each day you'll have the same menu sheet to pick 2 choices. There are like 8 choices: 4 hot and 4 cold. You can pick more than 2, and/or ask your butler for other things like potato chips, nuts, hummus, shrimp. They changed the menu last year or so. Things I recall: fruit, veggies, chips & salsa. They are nicely done and a perfect size. You also have afternoon tea with sweats and little sandwiches. This thread has done discussion:
  11. @maximize thank you for the detailed review and ask the information. Curious what cabin number you were in ? Or at least deck number and fore/mid/aft ?
  12. NCL Prima has 2 Skill Row. The rowers are next to the middle open area with one on each side. People often try to cut the corner too close to the end of the rail, then on the drive you hit them, usually with an elbow to the thigh. Suggest place your stuff or something at the end of the rail. Prima has many Garmin fitness watches in the shops like Epix 2, Fenix 7, Instinct 2. Do NOT buy them without checking the price online. I found they were marked up 30%+. It is nice to get to see and try them on.
  13. Isabella it would have helped to know the Ship and your cabin category as the Haven can be very different for those. One NCL advantage is Room Service as you can order from the Haven menu. The butlers do an excellent job of delivering it. Celebrity suites cannot order from the Retreat menu. My last time on Edge the upper suites could. So room service is usually blahhhh and no where near Haven level.
  14. Celebrity Sillouette has 1 SkillRow. It's in the second row with a bike on the right and abs bench on there right. There used to be 2 x C2 rowers before X changed to Technogym. There are 3 Peloton bikes at the front corner with a view out the front of the ship. A 4th Peloton is broken sitting in the spin room. There are often people not logged in sitting on the bikes spinning. Not sure if there is a current policy to require any account. Originally you had to, plus a reservation.
  15. I would choose Celebrity Ascent. I have not been on it, but I have been on Edge. They improved the Luminae restaurant by moving it to the front of deck 16 with windows on 3 sides. I've recently been on Breakaway. I see it as a 10 year-old ship that was a mediocre first try. The Haven area is small. The restaurant is small and has the windows on the small side making it feel like it's an inside room. They use the pool area for more restaurant space and that is the "outdoor" dining. NCL corrected that on Breakaway Plus ships (e.g. Escape) where the Haven area is about 2x larger adding a big Horizon lounge, Library and more. The Restaurant is 50% larger with much more windows along the long side. There is also a true outdoor Haven eating area on the side of the shop. The outside sundeck area is at least 50% larger. I point out these Plus changes to note why the older B ship sucks. The pool area outside the Haven also sucks on Breakaway compared to B Plus that is larger and not chopped up into sections.
  16. I used these machines during 2021-2022. Model E and RowERG (current model) refer to Concept 2. ** Celebrity ** CONSTELLATION – 1 x Model E - Had 40 MM meters. Condition fair, feels loose, but worked fine every day for 50 minutes. The foot straps were close to falling apart, told manager to fix. In a tight space next to Treadmill. EDGE – 2 x RowERG – new ship and new rowers with good space around them. Apex and Beyond – same as Edge seen on YouTube. ** NCL ** BREAKAWAY – 1 x Model E – Worst condition C2 ever. Chain dry, felt like grinding metal, slipped and jerked. Asked to lube which helped a little. Made a lot of noise. Anyone using the adjacent bikes left quickly. Did not use much. Told manager condition was a disgrace. PRIMA - 2 x SkillRow. Behind pole next to TM is not ideal view, but open space on one side. ** Oceania ** REGATTA – 1 x Model E – Small tight fitness center so only used 1 or 2 times. Condition was good. RIVERA – BH Fitness LK500RW (was Model E prior). A bit tight next to TM, but looks out window. Mirror on right so can check form. ** Regent ** SPLENDOR – 2 x SkillRow – Nice setup with view out big windows and plenty of space. EXPLORER – I would expect similar but do not see it on YouTube. ** Windstar ** STAR PRIDE – 1 x SkillRow – nice setup with lots of room around it and no machine close plus mirrors. All new fitness centers when the ships were in dry dock. Other Star motor ships should be the same setup. SkillRow is from Technogym who seems to be making most ship Cardio. Nice alternative to RowERG. Feel is close, but a little heavier pull. Great seat and handle. The foot straps are better. Monitor is nowhere near as good as PM5, but fine for Just Row. You can flip between 3 pages, one shows Pace, Time and Meters. Drag set with knob. The 1-10 setting plus drag factor shows on monitor page 3. Drag of 3 shows 110-120 factor so similar to C2. Can set it above 10 to +1 +2 +3 that is added magnetic resistance. Has no memory of past rows, so if you are logging write fast as timeout is quick. Cannot program like PM5 e.g. intervals. There is an App that may allow programming and keep memory, I did not try it. There are good videos on YouTube for how to use. BH Fitness LK500RW on Oceania Riveria – You must download and read the user guide. Even to Just Row you must set up monitor and it seems complicated. Not at all like PM5. Seat and handle are good. Feet fair, pull smooth. It is definitely harder/heavier than C2. I used 50 min every day so was able to figure it out. I would never buy this rower.
  17. Did the Regent ticket class allow access to the world famous Qatar Business Class lounge in Doha? I have read some "lite" discount fares do not allow access, neither does One World status.
  18. I think a fairer comparison would be an Oceania PH to a Regent Concierge D when on O Marina class versus R Explorer class. The Regent PH is a bigger room with a separate living room with it's own TV. Eating area is separate. The Concierge D does not have some perks like a butler, but does have a better bathroom that makes up some. It is one big room with a couch area like the O PH.
  19. I've cruised Oceania a dozen times and enjoy the food very much. Does Regent have equivalent of these Waves items? - Surf and Turf sandwich - Milkshakes - Smoothies including breakfast fruit/veggie - Ice Cream: big selection + daily special - Power Bowls Or maybe there are some other special everyday items on Regent? I know the Surf and Turf is one of the best items because it seems to be ordered by every officer eating at Waves. Have seen 5 medical staff at lunch together all order it and a milkshake.
  20. Usually the non-stops to FCO end mid October when the tourist season ends. For the MIA-ORD leg you can take an air credit for just that leg and buy your own FC ticket home. The credit will be Not be 50% of the full $1550. It will be related to the price of a discounted economy ticket, maybe $250.
  21. I was on Pride in October and had the all inclusive drink package. I would say I found it hard to get drinks, only drank beer and wine so nothing complicated. Be prepared to be proactive flagging down staff to get drinks. Best to go to the bar and get your own, especially 2nd. At dinner the server usually took the wine order so you can get 1 glass. Trying to get 2nd glass was much harder, I think I never got a 3rd. Cuadro 44 was excellent with the best service, because it is so small. It served Spanish wines that were always refilled. You have to sign paper receipts for all your drinks, an annoyance. They will track you down to your cabin the next day. So I cannot recommend the drinks, but if you do be assertive to get served. The espresso based coffee drinks are excellent.
