You are too kind, my friend. You are one of the reasons I visit these boards every day! There is still a lot I enjoy with Princess, like some really nice itineraries, mini suites, the IC, the packages (which are the best and least expensive of any line) and the crew, of course. So, Princess will always have a place in my heart. If they would just fix the darn smoking policy!

So much drama! Just get a CVP who can book these cabins the same as any other cabins. No extra time or work involved. So darn easy.

All casinos in Canada are all nonsmoking indoors, including the adjacent hotels. It is wonderful!

I respect your opinion, but Celebrity casinos, IMHO, are far superior. One day Princess will enter this century and prohibit all indoor smoking. Time will tell.

That is our #1 complaint for sure. I love to spend my evenings, and my money, in the casino after dinner with a couple of cocktails. I can accomplish this on Celebrity. I cannot on Princess.

How is smoking in the casino civilized? Smoke is smoke. Even a small amount is too much. The casino should be nonsmoking. Period.

Oh, wow! We’re Elite+ and have never experienced this on Celebrity. Perhaps those two times, you were just very unlucky. Did you do a search before booking?

I agree with you in principle, however if I want one of these cabins I just tell my CVP and it’s done, no muss no fuss. It’s literally zero extra work or stress for me.

Princess is aware that smokers are using the casino as a smoking room only, but it’s very hard to monitor everyone in the casino, so they just ignore it. The carpet and other soft goods do smell of smoke! If I use the casino, even for a short time, my hair and my clothes reek of smoke! I’ve learned after dinner to change into my sweats before going to the casino and then washing my hair before going to bed. Our cruising days with Princess are probably coming to an end in the near future. So sad.

The Celebrity website and the Cruise Critic Celebrity boards are a wealth of information. You won’t find many Celebrity fans here. I’m one of very few.

Of course, we’re all capable of making our own decisions, but I do very much appreciate other people’s perspective.

We’re doing a New Years Eve cruise on the new Ascent and can’t wait to spend my evenings in the smoke free casino! I really wish Princess would do something about their outdated smoking policy. We do have Enchanted booked for 2024 and Majestic for 2025, so we still have ties to Princess, but becoming less and less attractive to us.

Except for non smoking casinos, large bathrooms with glass shower stalls, sofas and coffee tables in all ocean view cabins and higher, covered pool areas that can be used year round in any type of weather, complimentary adults only covered pool area with small buffet. Aqua Class and full suites each have their own private restaurants and kitchens. Food, entertainment and service is generally equal, but varies depending on ship. I don’t think Princess can be considered a cut above Celebrity. Just my opinion, of course. For me, Princess has a lot to do to catch up. However, to each their own! Everyone has their favourite cruiseline and ship. We’re all so lucky to be able to make those choices and enjoy such outstanding vacations regardless of which ship we’re on.

I’m sure you’ll love the size of the balconies. A party for 12 would be no problem! Yes, they provide you with plenty of the motion of the ocean whilst at sea, but we do not have issues with this. The metal front railing of the balcony is a problem for some people because it does impede your view of the sea. Yes, it can get windy up there, so be prepared. You have to keep your drapes drawn at night to not impact the navigation on the bridge. If you use the facilities and the buffet on Lido then this location is ideal. We don’t eat in the buffet, but we like to grab some cheese and crackers and other nibbles to keep in the cabin. Longer walk to the elevators, but we don’t mind. On shorter cruises, 7 nights, we like these cabins. Longer than this we prefer a mini suite.

My CVP is able to “see” these cabins and book our choice for two passengers. Princess keeps them as guaranteed cabins because they do sleep three passengers. Just booked L101 on Enchanted for Canada/New England. Online showed guarantee only and my CVP did her thing and voila!

I’d prefer a smaller non smoking casino than a larger casino with permitted smoking. A big casino with lots of smokers? No thank you! This is a deal breaker for us. We’re being forced to sail exclusively with Celebrity in the future.

I hate disembarking! Why does it always go so fast? Looking forward to part 3! Safe travels, guys!

So disgusting. Sorry, your dinner was spoiled by this “gentleman”. There needs to be a line drawn between casual and beach/bbq in the MDR. No disrespect intended, but we never see type of dress in Canada or Europe when dining out except at fast food restaurants. Oh well, the new attitude seems to be anything goes, we don’t care what anyone thinks. So, my DH and I will continue looking nice and just ignoring the rest. We won’t let anyone spoil our special time. Thank you for sharing your recent experience on Caribbean Princess.
