  1. I’m sure you’ll enjoy Enchanted. I’m one who really likes Royal Class ships, but many others don’t. I like that I can move up to a Deluxe Balcony with a loveseat for little extra money over a regular balcony or if the Mini Suites are not available or too expensive. Refundable deposits are mandatory for us and Princess takes care of that!
  2. That is interesting. I tried a mock booking on our 2023 and 2024 reservations and all is as expected, so it’s not happening across the board. I recently tried to do a refare of our next cruise according to the price shown to me on the Princess website and our CVP could not find or see the same fares. I put a hold on a cabin in the same category so she could see it and still she could not find the fare code. She called someone at Princess and they couldn’t find it either. My only choice was to cancel and rebook. Luckily my OBC was still included. The fare difference was $1663.00! Worth the inconvenience. My CVP said that this is a very common occurrence and Princess just doesn’t explain that to their staff.
  3. The last words from me, I promise. Did you ever think that perhaps it’s your tone and your choice of words? You don’t sound like you’re offering advice, you sound like you’re lecturing to people below you. Try a little respect and civility occasionally, you’d be surprised at how well people respond to you. Thank you, I’m done.
  4. Thanks, dog! It’s members like you that make this an enjoyable place for cruisers to chat and exchange experiences and even learn something new. Some people enjoy confrontation, but it’s not my thing. You keep being you.
  5. I’m sorry, but I don’t understand what point you are trying to make. What possible difference does it make to you which benefits were removed or diminished? Again, whatever your status, enjoy what benefits you have earned. It seems that you want to start a disagreement about this and I certainly do not.
  6. You are correct. Platinum level is relatively easy to obtain and the ships are filled with them. Elite, on the other hand, does require a dedicated cruiser and does take a substantial amount of money to achieve.
  7. For one, we used to receive free internet minutes, so buying wifi was not necessary. There are others that many cc members have referred to recently, especially for Elite status. Perhaps some will chime in. My point was that people should take advantage of the benefits they actually earned.
  8. Yes, and you deserve whatever benefits you are entitled to. They are far and few between, so enjoy them while you still have them
  9. Since they have no status on Princess and are not sharing your cabin, then they should embark accordingly. Many folks who are Platinum and Elite have spent lots of money and time at sea to earn this privilege. Since Princess seems to be removing status benefits so frequently, this is one of the few benefits left for us. It’s not a big deal, but yeah, it matters. Sorry.
  10. Same with us. We only travel in Canada or Europe, so we tip as usual at home and in Euros or British Pound Sterling when away. 10-15 Euros or Pounds for a nice half day tour and more for tour guides who exceed our expectations. Once in Brussels we left no tip. Lots of the bus passengers got off half way through the tour and took cabs back to the ship. We felt sorry for the tour guide and stayed on. Long story short……it was just awful. Celebrity credited everyone’s OBC the cost of the excursion. Only time we didn’t tip.
  11. BTW every time I see your profile red letter “L” I think it’s me and I wonder when did I post that!
  12. I really don’t want to sail in November, much prefer the September cruise. We’ll stick with Sun just to see something different on Princess. Also, Regal September 2023 and doing Celebrity Ascent in 2024. My plate is full!
  13. We cruise Celebrity quite often and the Edge class ships, such as Beyond, provides a much different cruise experience. You can’t compare the Princess concept with Celebrity…….apples and oranges. Celebrity has thrown out most of the familiar and replaced it with high tech sophistication. Not everyone’s cup of tea, but we love it. People who love Princess would not necessarily love Celebrity.
  14. @malba2366Yes, but most of the innovations on RCL we would never use. We don’t want an amusement park or carnival rides or any of that. I like new but with a some familiar and comfortable favourites. They’re great for families, though.
  15. At this point, it doesn’t look like it. But, things can change.
  16. I’m going with an open mind. Yes, there will be something that’s not what we would prefer, but probably a few improvements that we’ll enjoy. We’ll be onboard for 16 days so we’ll really get to know our ship and what works and what doesn’t. Just hoping that Princess takes a big step and bans smoking in the casino. Please Princess, listen to us!!
  17. May I ask what problems or issues you are experiencing on your cruise. Sounds like you are not at all pleased with the treatment your husband is receiving.
  18. We’ve booked Concerto dining room each evening for 6:20 at a two top and I guess we’ll see if it actually happens. I don’t think they’ll even care if you have it printed out, there will be an excuse why you’re not getting what you booked.
  19. We chose this TA sailing because we just wanted a couple of weeks to relax and enjoy the ship. We’re also spending a few days in Southampton. If you look at the deck plans you’ll see there is Vines and Crooners. However, the buffet, World Fresh Marketplace, is not on the pool deck nor is the usual outdoor grill or pizza. They’re on deck 9 and the pool deck is on 17. The best deck plans are not on Princess. We found better ones online, but it’s all just basically wait and see. Anything can change. Hoping to get a better idea in the coming months. We usually book mini suites, but since we know so little about the staterooms, we just grabbed a balcony for now and then we’ll start looking in earnest.
  20. Your cabin is very aft by the elevators and directly under the Wake View Bar. Not as bad as being under the actual buffet. However, you still might experience noise from people at the bar and sitting around the tables, especially in the evening. Not ideal if you’re looking for a quiet cabin. To be honest, we love to book cabins on Lido deck forward. A really convenient area, not much noise, but yes you do feel the motion of the ocean. l
