  1. Before I left on harmony I booked Voyager TA. Even my TA was surprised a balcony was less than $30 more than the inside price. Ship was wide open and I could have almost any deck I wanted so I picked the pool deck. I'm kind of excited. $1321.xx. but then I wanted the next leg as long as I was already over there, France, greece x 2 and 4 stops in Italy.. 10 days .. fewer days and costs more but might as well not waste the airfare to fly home. All these posts per person per day. With varying numbers of people. That's my total cost for 13 days with fees and taxes. About $100 a day. I'm not even going to try and figure out 9 days at $62 a day was it 4 people. If people have to post it that way and not total cost imo they are trying to hide the true cost. I want to know total cost for how many days. It's a advertising ploy to say pppd to make you think it's cheaper. The 2nd leg did cost more but my TA did have much better prices. Thank goodness for DP340 I say. Comparing prices is like saying a apple and a pear are the same. My problem with icon is its geared to attract more kids. And star. I'm on harmony b2b2b and we have enough kids to suit me. Very cute but enough. Also I'm just ready for something new, hence the TA. I am pretty sure we all agree icon and star prices are high. And no appeal for me. No other line gives me solo discounts. Just royal.
  2. And jewel. If OP likes jewel then they might like miracle. Jewel has no bells and whistles, not even a promenade. It's all glass and windows to the ocean.
  3. My guess is it's because miracle has some longer cruises. Dream was doing longer and now seems to be miracle. I'm in the camp for longer cruises. The jewel she mentioned is also older and tiny but is doing a 10 and 11 day b2b out of texas a lot are doing. Ok I looked her up. Might be smaller than miracle? This is the b2b op has booked.
  4. As I said its bought with my play money, because no dividend, but I also cruise a lot and it plus a little from TA pays my auto tips and more. Keeps me from complaining about service. My cabin steward seems to think no service is ok this week. I'm glad im changing cabins. She is moving my suitcase after I pack up so I dont want trouble so not saying anything. I just sat my trash in the hall after 3 days not emptied. I've been seeing others doing this. None of the keep things on hangers either, she said after I pack up. And yes I tipped her extra to move me.
  5. We might have the same april 2025 on adventure... southern? I didnt know before mid this year I was ready to think about moving. By the time I booked I saw BND post all JS already booked up, not that I personally cared, just thought cant be booked up but I looked and almost 2 years out yep she was right sold out. No idea why that march and april 2025 southern is much much higher than earlier. Just the 8 day southern was much higher than closer in dates. I agree with her, adventure is gold plated prices for my dates. I've never paid this much pre covid per day. I wanted more days but only booked the 3 I wanted most. Would have booked and stayed on longer if the prices werent sky high imo ... again my opinion, adventure prices from dec 2024 to april 2026 gold plated.
  6. I am NOT finding cheaper prices than pre covid. Neither Galveston or PC. I am finding bigger ships, better choices and more ports I want to see. I do have some newer ships booked and first ever TA but the 2nd leg to see more fascinating ports also is my most expensive booked cruise. ..though the TA itself seems pretty good. I keep reading how TAs are supposed to be super cheap, but I loved having a wide open ship to choose almost any balcony when it came out a couple weeks ago. Havent found what I'd consider a huge deal. I'm in the complaining about prices group.
  7. Agree. Those strawberries I guess are out of season. White on the top, not even red. Looked kinda awful. Dining room was worried I hadnt been there and sent them. I'd just gotten rid of the dessert plate. Between turn around meal, d+ meal, izumi. I wasnt hungry. I wasnt mad at them. Lol. She said she called me for 2 days hahahah. First time onboard 3 weeks. I'm getting to where I cant hardly eat. Tonight is those new asparagus spears app I never remember seeing before.
  8. I usually use a TA but I'm booked direct on my 14 day dream journey cruise jan 13. My TA was crusing and couldnt call into carnival right away. They said give him the pin which never worked. First time actually im booked direct online myself. It was the last of a particular cabin I wanted. Other than he missed the commission it's ok to book direct if you know what you want. I wasnt taking chances. He was at sea and having trouble calling in to book so I took it off hold and did it myself. Next up carnival dream ... I've been waiting so long for this one. I booked during their birthday half off and only one was allowed pp. I wanted jubilee too but once I clicked on the hold for this one couldnt get to see the other choices.
  9. I agree cruise prices are a shocker. I'm solo and one thing I super love about carnival mock booking is I can change to 1 adult and see the pricing solo .. right off the bat. Dont have to click thru add a code and all that rcl stuff. Maybe change it to 1 just to see the total cruisefare, makes it easier.
  10. I agree. My personal portfolio is set up mostly of dividend paying stocks. No dividend, like rcl now, it's for fun. My serious hold stocks pay dividends. CAT oil stocks, drug stocks. Without a dividend I think this price is getting a bit high value wise again for me. Gotta have a few to play with. With my parents trust funds even more conservative. 6 month treasuries with free cash. Waiting for signs the fed will cut to go longer. Tax free govt bond funds, some dividend stocks. Ultra conservative. Next 6 month flip of govt treasuries is feb so I'm watching rates like a hawk.
  11. I sold my few shares 104. And watched and watched. Bought 100 at 90, 87, then the last 100 at 80. Barely dipped below 80 and then started moving up. New high since covid. Watching it onboard. That's the one thing I miss is watching the market and hearing what's going on. I can remember back in the olden days royal had CNBC. I've traded and held mostly for 50 years. When I watch too closely I agree it's hard not to trade in and out. As the guy in annie said ... both my hands start to itch. Rcl charts been talking to me. Right now I'm seeing if it can hold 120, feels like resistance. Even if it sells off a bit wouldnt drop much this time. Just could pull back a little to gather strength. New high since covid. Its low float high beta so swings are bigger in price movements. I'm holding here. All this nickle and diming will pay off during earnings. I dont mind missing anything else when I'm cruising except stock talk. I just love stocks so much, pays for my cruises. But you gotta learn charts. The computers trade off the charts. I am not privy to why rcl is moving up so strongly right now (let's be honest a month or so ago after earnings slipped below 80), but my educated guess with no data here on harmony is because oil is dropping. Of course we know rcl hedges unlike carnival but i doubt those day traders and computers care. All they care about is their signals based on charts. Sold nvda so got cash now to buy more rcl, but not here at 120. Lol of course Ike I wish I'd bought more around the dip to 80. This chart clearly shows the recent sell off, buy buy buy, no reason for the sell off imo. How can you not love stocks. Who needs the casino, mine is stocks.
  12. I've never heard it called corned beef brisket. Just corned beef and cabbage. Clearly my upbringing was lacking. This is the first time I've even seen it called corned beef brisket. We had the lobster tonight.
  13. Seems random to me. I've seen posted 2 3 or 4 bottles of water. I got 3. My lower pts friend got 4 this week. The 4 drinks a day anywhere anytime, free photo, 1 day of wifi.
  14. Oh yea I forgot. They offered horseradish with the brisket and came around with it. We didnt get that other sauce you have.
  15. Is brisket even especially a Jewish dinner? I'm protestant irish where I grew up a meal wasnt a meal without potatoes. I dont think my town had any jewish people. So sorry I'm clueless about this.
  16. It's not quite as tender as the mexican steak. Asa Verde or whatever name it is called. .. imo. It was Mexican night but offered hanukkah meal if you choose, though is brisket jewish? I have no idea, just asking. Yep it was 3 pieces of brisket. Me I wanted those jelly donuts the rabi was offering lol. I heard those potato pancakes are just formed and fried mashed potatoes. I expected more like hash browns more texture. First time so nothing to compare them too. When you board maybe you can find where he is with those jelly donuts.
  17. I remember that lady who was dressed master slave and wore that see thru chain "dress". At the time they wouldnt allow see thru either. .. though on allure I saw see thru ladies pants. A lady tapped me on the shoulder and pointed to a lady at customer service counter. Said am I seeing what I think. This see thru red gauze pants. Yep. But wasnt at dinner. The red color disguised it a bit you could see right thru.
  18. I booked a rcl excursion and assumed they got priority. Said meet at the green tent in the port. Went down, told walk to aft from forward. Aft sidewalk forward, then back. So disorganized. They didnt seem to care I was trying to get to a rcl sponsored excursion. Wouldnt again. Might have been caymans. One nice thing about Belize tenders, they take your scooters onboard the tender, though they were in the sun.
  19. TAs in canada have some kind of insurance if the cruiseline goes under, or that's what it sounded like to me during covid when people were worried. Someone from Canada I'm sure knows what this is called.
  20. Maybe not worth a post. 2 potato pancakes kinda bland, never had them before so I guess normal, brisket and some broccoli and carrots. There is a rabi onboard posted rcl hired him. From NJ. Hes got jelly filled donuts if you can figure out where he is.
  21. We have had all 3 regular flavors of ice cream in the WJ with 6 toppings choices at lunch and dinner in the WJ last 2 weeks I've been on harmony. On allure they rotated 2 flavors.
  22. Lol like the way grandeur was doing them last year when I last did grandeur. Grandeur photos hadnt been upgraded yet to the place where you could see them in print digitally.
  23. Dont you get free laundry by now.? my vacation used to start when I could see the ocean in Galveston.
  24. I said I would do a review and especially of my excursion. I just dont have the energy tbh. There has been some fabulous food imo and some new foods I've never seen. I just couldnt do what you do. I read yours, and at home I think sure ... now I'm onboard and it's been so hot. I dont seem to tolerate heat as well as I used to. This week I had short ribs for turn around then day 2 cheers with a officer, for D+ was moved because too many pinnacles, usually day 3. Fillet mignon vs on allure was rib eye for D+. Not one complaint about how steak was cooked either week. Fabulous steak. Then day 3 I went to izumi. And next week I'm doing izumi and wonderland and booked Jamie's for lunch day 7 with helen and marty .. and my refrigerator is full with 2 fruit cakes helen asked me to pick up at the bakery in corsicana.. no room for drinks. Ha when she gets on I'm ready to give them to her so I can put stuff in my refrigerator. Collins street bakery has $10 off if I bought 2, so she said sure buy 2. I got them stacked end to end in front of the shelves. Lol. Even my lobster was good. My favorite app is that night the avacado citrus salad, I asked for double but they sure skimped on the avacado ha! Oh I'm doing wonderland next week day 4. I'm going to be so fooded out. Hvent had any lunch yet, just coffee. I'm getting to where I cant eat ny more. Lol. But overall food has been good. A few misses.
