  1. I always use SAS transportation. Never had to wait long. I make reservations ahead of time. Always easy to get to the driver. $15 per person with plenty of room for luggage. Uber/taxi will run at least $80, and depending on how much luggage you have, you may need two vehicles. Benefit to that is you have a direct route. It's about a 30-35 min drive.

  2. I wash my foundation and concealer brushes after every use; all other brushes get washed on Sundays. The foundation and concealer brushes get deep cleaned on Sunday's. I have about 60 brushes, and I use and wash them all. I find my makeup looks so much better using clean brushes.

  3. Remember that there are a limited number of pages in your passport, if you fill them up you have to get a new one, you can't add any more pages. IMO it is best to keep it for places that actually require you to present it to be stamped, than it is to get unnecessary stamps.

Has this changed? My current passport was issued in Nov 2008; I had additional pages added in 2012. I had to get a Chinese visa, and the service I used also added the pages for about $40.

  4. I was on the Escape last week, and Norwegian's Night out was on Sunday. Of course, since that is Christmas, they may adjust that. I saw photographers out every night of the cruise. They will typically be by the stairs on 6 and the chandelier on 8 at a minimum, but they will also have the backdrops scattered throughout 6, 7, and 8.

and it's not obvious to me when kids are allowed.

I was on Escape last week. There was a sign in front of Spice H2O stating adults 18+ only from 6am until 7pm. There were many kids at the parties at night, especially the 80s and Glow parties.

  6. Thanks for taking the time to post! Over 20 of us sail on Escape this coming Saturday! I was glad to see you mentioned the 80's night. One of my sisters really lead the group in making sure we got to this event. We all have our 80's outfits lined up... PLEASE tell me we won't be the only ones in 80's gear! LOL No matter... we'll have a ton of fun either way. The drink package will make sure of that. ;)

I'm sailing tomorrow, too! Sooooo excited! I didn't bring 80s gear but maybe I can do my makeup 80s style!

  7. Yes, these ports accept US currency. You won't have any issues. I've not been to a Caribbean port that does not accept US currency, and I've not been to a country that does not accept US credit cards (check with your card, though. There may be an international fee on the transaction).

  8. It is dependent on the port \ ship. If you do not see it while doing your ON-LINE check-in, then the local port authority (who manages the embarking facility - not NCL) may not deem it necessary.

I was on the Breakaway in June out of NYC. The local agent was reading each person's eDocs to confirm the "check-in time". Although they allowed people to enter earlier than their time, they advised that they would be enforcing the "check-in" times in the near future. I haven't heard of any reports that the "near future" has arrived but it wont be long especially with ships getting bigger and bigger.

The NYC security screening line was so long it was literally out the door and congesting the porters trying to do luggage

Thank you. I'm on the Escape next month.

  9. I see you're on the Getaway. Unless you earned 20 points on your first cruise, you will not be invited to a party. The Sky, Epic, Breakaway, Getaway, and Escape do not have the Latitudes party. There is a separate officers party for silver and above (so, if you're not on one of the 5 ships listed above, you get two parties).

  10. Why would anyone sailing Solo want to book that far in advance?

Still, even outside the final payment window an Inside Single is still much cheaper than a Studio 90% of the time. I just ran a faux booking for all the "Away" ships plus the Epic through June and that is what I found.

    .

Why wouldn't a solo book far in advance? Are solos supposed to not have other things going on in their life and therefore not need to book in advance?

I am doing a studio for the 5th time next month. I booked months ago, and the rate for other cabins was much higher. Now, a balcony cabin is $40 more than what I paid. I got off the phone with my TA earlier this morning, and she said I'd have to give up my UBP to move to the balcony. No thanks, the drinks are worth more than the balcony to me.

Every other time, the studio was the least expensive option. I'm a "get me on the ship" person. I don't use the balcony when I have a balcony room.

For me, it comes down to the least expensive option, which a studio has been in my situations, and not caring where I sleep and shower. My previous cruises were 2011-2014, so perhaps the pricing has changed and my next cruise will have a better price on a larger cabin.
