  1. Hello! I'm booked on the 11/26 Escape sailing. Itinerary states the ship doesn't leave Miami until 7:00. Is this right? All my Miami sailings have been at 4:00-5:00. Does boarding start at the normal time (11:30-12:00)?

  2. I swim, too. You will not be "swimming" on the cruise. The pools are too small and crowded. You'd maybe get in three strokes per lap. Since you are going over the holiday, the ship is going to be VERY crowded.

  3. You will have no problem - especially if not worried about closing the door. One of my fellow Breakaway solo cruisers complained about the size of the cabin and all as he said the studios on Epic were much bigger. He complained about everything though...

I sailed studios on book the Epic and Getaway and the size was the same. And I just booked a studio on Escape!

  4. Oh $@&" NO! [emoji13]

That was the most awful attempt at entertainment. I think that half the people had no clue what they were cheering for, and those who knew, were completely annoyed by it.

I know that Carnival is all about fun, but that was not fun. That was plain and simple torture.

Ditto! Couldn't say it better myself!

  5. What do you mean "sign for her"??? There's no signing when you leave the ship at a port. They are asking if the 18 year old and the 17 year old can leave the ship while it is in port. The only thing you do when leaving is to have your sign n sail card officially noted(dinged in the machine) so they know you are off the ship and can keep track of passengers. There is no "signing".

That's not the question. The OP is asking if the 17 1/2 year old can get a massage with her 18 year old cousin.

OP, I take it you are asking if the girls can stay on ship and get massages while you are in port. Am I interpreting that correctly? If so, I doubt the 17 1/2 year old will be able to get the massage with your daughter, though I'm not 100% sure. If the girls want massages, they are better off getting off the ship and getting massages in port.

  6. You're lucky. The port area itself is nice, but there is nothing to do in Falmouth. All of the good stuff is in Ocho Rios, and it's a 1.5 hour drive from Falmouth to Ocho Rios. We planned to do Cool Blue Hole and the falls on the Victory in Feb, but due to the distance and the ship getting in late, we were only able to do Cool Blue Hole (HIGHLY recommend). Not stopping at Falmouth is a good thing.

  7. Idk how everyone doesn't love the Blue Man Group, forget the drumming for a minute they're actually really really funny.

Different strokes for different folks. I saw BMG in Vegas courtesy of my company at our management seminar in July 2007. I couldn't stand it -didn't think it was funny at all - but I was passing a kidney stone so I thought that clouded my judgment. Fast forward to my first Epic cruise in April 2011. I decided to try it again. Just not my thing. I walked out. BMG is very successful, though, so I'm apparently in the minority. I've sailed Epic four times...it's high time they change the entertainment.

  8. I'm on the Victory in two days to celebrate my friend's 40th bday! It's been nearly three years since I sailed Carnival! We have two cabins of three...my cabin gets priority boarding due to my platinum status, and we plan to buy Cheers. The other cabin does not have priority boarding and does not plan to buy Cheers. I'm thinking my cabin boards, we buy Cheers, and by then the other cabin should have boarded and we can meet up. Two questions...will this timing likely work? Where do we buy Cheers? Thanks in advance for your help!

  9. I always bring a dress for each night with a couple extras just in case. However, for those looking to pare down your packing, check out White House Black Market's convertible dress it comes in black, white, and burgundy, and can be styled at least 7 different ways.

  10. I too have this problem and I truly believe that you should be discussing it with your Dr. especially if on meds for blood pressure or other problems. This is not just a "looks" problem or a problem of unsightly veins. This swelling says something internally is not going well and could be a serious health problem. If you swell, I have been told by my Dr. that I am at increased risk of DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) and that can kill you! That swelling is not just in your veins of the legs it is in all parts of the body and can include the lungs. You might need medication or medical attention. Better to talk about it before the trip than have a medical emergency. Best of luck.

(I did not read every post so if this has been already talked over --sorry. I had a dear friend that developed a DVT emergency on the way to a cruise and it was only a 2 hour flight. She lived but it was a bad emergency and not a good cruise.)

I've talked to my dr about this. He's not concerned.
