Alaska - Would I miss anything by not booking excursions?
Ozark_Kid replied to NeepierRoad's topic in Alaska
We visited Alaska for our 1st time last May. We cruised from Seattle. 1st Juneau We did a whale watch excursion. Seeing a few whales break the surface was OK but I liked the scenery much more. I do not want to do that excursion again. Afterwards we enjoyed walking around town. 2nd Skagway This was a great visit. There are a lot of trails to hike. After researching we decided to do the Yakutania Point Park. It was beautiful. After spending time there we walked the town. We visited Klondike Doughboy. Taste great! We ate at the Skagway Brewing Co. The food is great. Here is one website to give you an idea of what trials are available. https://www.nps.gov/klgo/planyourvisit/hiking.htm 3rd Sitka Here we walked to the Sitka Historical Park. There was good scenery walking there. Once at the park we walked the trails that were loaded with cool looking totem poles. The trees were tall and beautiful. The river that runs through it is nice and we got to view a few bald eagles. From the Park we visited the Alaska Raptor Center. It cost a little but worth it. Next we walked through the town. It was a great day. 4th Victoria We did an excursion to a so called castle. It was a neat one and done but I was expecting more. I have to say I enjoyed the ports we did on our own more than the ones we did excursions. Yes, you can miss stuff when you skip excursions but you will miss just as much doing them. Take the time to research each port and you will find plenty to take in. A word of advice, get in shape as much as you can before you go. You will be walking several miles at each port. -
After getting no response from the CC help board I tried to find a way to contact Samsung and let them know the browser was not working. I was about to give up but found a way to text. It ended up being an automated response. What is surprising me is how well the new browser is predicting the next word I want to text. I am about totally sold on the new keyboard. What I was missing from the last keyboard was the ability to hold down a letter and get a choice of ąćcéñťèð letters. I was able to get it back by changing some keyboard settings.

If both of you are diamond you will have two 24 hour sessions. If you start using it in the afternoon then you can use it the next morning. Share it and you'll have 4 1/2 days. If one gets a plan you can both share one plan or one can use both 24 hour plans. On our last cruise we were able to give both of our 24 hours to a solo cruiser by going to It.

That's great. It must of been the Samsung keyboard that didn't like the update. I really didn't want to switch browsers. I was not finding a way to solve the problem. My main problem was when I would try to quote it acted like I was holding down to “select all" then the keyboard would disappear. Today I thought it may be the key sensitivity setting. While trying to figure that out I noticed how to switch to the Microsoft keyboard. It will take a while to get used to the new keyboard but I am starting to like it. It is really good predicting what I want to text. I need to try out some of the new keyboard settings.

I have found a solution that seems to be working while using the Samsung Internet browser. I switched keyboards. When I was having trouble I was using the Samsung keyboard. Today I thought I would switch keyboards to the Microsoft SwiftKey keyboard and I have been having no problems since on CC. If you are interested in trying it out this is how you change keyboards. Go to settings, then go to General management. After you click General management you will see these choices. First click Keyboard list and default. There you can select the Microsoft SwiftKey keyboard. After you select the MSK then you can go back and click on the Microsoft SwiftKey keyboard and chose your options. I had no problems posting this. I am later going to go back to the old board to see if it still has problems. Who knows, I may get used to this one and keep with it. If you t

Good to hear you enjoyed. We tried it last October. I agree the tenderloin was great. I wasn't going to try the lambchop but our cruise friend liked it so I tried it. So good I am looking forward to trying lambchops again. I have read that the Wipeout Cafe has been converted to El Loco fresh. Did you try it? As for sharing internet, we do it all the time. What @bethco mentioned is the way to do it.
