  1. Yes, it's almost certainly your province. Presuming you haven't moved from one province to another since booking, you almost certainly have no worries. I can tell you're concerned, so it's probably worth calling your TA to put your mind at ease. It's fairly likely that all provinces of Canada were included, making it in effect a Canadian Discount. Over all my cruises I've probably booked on a restricted fare a dozen times, and have never been asked for proof of meeting the criteria. In your case, the proof would be your Driver's License, or other proof of residency, which you'd almost certainly have with you anyway. Harris Denver, CO
  2. If you have your Celebrity invoice (the one directly from Celebrity Cruises, not your TA invoice, it will show what fare you're booked under. It may not be abundantly clear, but we at the Cruise Critic Detective Agency could likely get it figured out for you. 🙂 Harris Denver, CO
  3. There's almost certainly no problem. Since you're concerned, you could call your TA and ask them what restricted fare you are booked under. Most TA sites I've seen ask about residency, military service, age, and prior cruises. The reason for these questions is to determine eligibility for the best pricing. I would bet you qualified for a residency rate, and it was applied. This is normal business practice, and it's that service people want from a TA. People want the TA to handle all the "details" and simply get them the cruise they want at the best price. Harris Denver, CO
  4. Yes, there are provincial rates as well, so it can apply for Canada. I'm sorry I didnt catch the OP's location. Harris Denver, CO
  5. Fairly unlikely, as Celebrity has but 12 (soon to be 13) cruise ships. This means they can deploy their fleet seasonally and profitably in the current markets. A world cruise requires commitment of a ship to that itinerary, and with the number of ships Celebrity has, it's not practical. They have on the other hand had tremendous success with marketing the Edge's 52-night, Rome to Sydney cruise as a "Grand Voyage". Historically that repositioning route was not terribly popular, and prices were reduced to get passengers aboard. With this marketing, all legs have sold well,a nd some have been consistently sold out for months. I would definitely look for more marketing of lengthy non-repetive cruises like this. 6. $10.00 minimum tables are the norm on Celebrity It's not uncommon to see $5.00 minimums during the day on sea days; but this ends at a certain hour. Also, for blackjack, the lower minimum tables at 6:5, while the higher minimum tables (either $25.00 or $50.00) are 3:2. Harris Denver, CO
  7. As long as you meet the requirement for the fare, you're fine. For example, if it's a state resident fare, you could be asked for your driver's license, or other proof of residency. If it's a military fare, you could be asked for either military ID or your proof of honorable discharge (in the US a DD214). If it's a Police/Fire/EMS fare, you could be asked for your proof of qualification. In most people's experience, they've not been asked. However, I do remember a case discussed here on Cruise Critic, many years ago where group had booked using a state discount. Most of these did not qualify, as they did not live in that state. The rules are very clear: If you book using a discounted rate for which you do not qualify, then you can be either denied boarding, or - at the pier - you will be re-fared to the fare applicable at that moment. This would be a very expensive proposition. It's critical to understand that they do not simply take away the discount and charge the amount that would have been required on the day of booking, but treat it like a brand new booking. If you're booked with a reputable TA, they most likely applied the state discount for the state in which you reside, and that's perfectly fine of course, and will present you no problems. It's unlikely you'll be asked for verification of residency, since Celebrity already has your address from your completion of check-in documentation. Harris Denver, CO
  8. He can skip it, but it’s not that hard to do it, so why not? If he chooses not to they’ll take care of it when he goes to the back to back meeting, which is usually done on the final sea day of the first cruise. Harris Denver, CO
  9. They've done away with this, as you know longer go up to the desk, but simply to the first available representative; so a separate "priority" line woudl not speed things up at all. Now the only separate check-in is for Retreat and Zenith guests. Harris Denver, CO
  10. The boarding process is really smooth now, particularly if you've completed check-in and uploaded photos on the app. Show up at your assigned time, with your Xpress passes either printed or on the app, have your passport and credit card in hand. You'll be greeted by a staff member with a tablet, they'll comlpete sign in for you. This generally takes three minutes or less. You board, and go to your room. There you'll pick up your key cards, and drop your carry on bags. Go to your assigned muster station and check in there, and you're now all done. Harris Denver, CO
  11. @Keys Kathy 7. CANCELLATION, DEVIATION OR SUBSTITUTION BY CARRIER: a. Carrier may for any reason at any time and without prior notice, cancel, advance, postpone or deviate from any scheduled sailing, port of call, destination, lodging or any activity on or off the Vessel, or substitute another vessel or port of call, destination, lodging or activity. Except as provided in Section 7.e below, and except as provided in Section 4.e or Section 4.f regarding an actual or suspected COVID-19 infection, and except where a refund is required by law as a result of a declaration of a public health emergency or government order cancelling the Cruise or delaying boarding of the Vessel by Passengers by three (3) days or more, Carrier shall not be liable for any claim whatsoever by Passenger, including but not limited to loss, compensation or refund, by reason of such cancellation, advancement, postponement, substitution or deviation. In short, you agreed to the prospect of changes when you booked the cruise. I would guess there has been some sort of change on 25% of my cruises. They do not, and will not provide you any compensation for changes before or during the cruise. Harris Denver, CO
  12. My 5 points have now credited as well as the one point. 😁 Harris Denver, CO
  13. Like both of you, I have the 1 point credited, and the 5 point webinar listed, but not yet credited. All to the good I suppose, since we weren't expecting it until the 14th, but it will be nice when the numbers tally up. The excellent thing is this should give us three separate occasions for "me too" post on this thread (e.g I got the 1 point; the webinar shows; I got the points for the webinar). 🙂 Harris Denver, CO
  14. A boarding day lunch, afternoon canapes (I would suggest you ask them to change this to either fruit or cheese), some invites to on-board events. Harris Denver, CO
  15. Did you sign up to get text messages? I've been seeing that pop-up when I go the Celebrity site. I haven't opted in, but that seems like it might be why. Harris Denver, CO
  16. That reminds me of a time disembarking in San Juan, Puerto Rico. We we flying on non-rev tickets, and there was a very early flight (like 8:40 AM) we would get on if we could get to the airport in time. We did the walk-off, and were probably the first ones to the taxis. It was a weekend morning so there was very little traffic. We told the cab driver we were in a hurry trying to catch the flight. Well, he took that personally. We did make the flight, but after the speed of the taxi van through San Juan, the speed of the jet was very disappointing. 🙂 Harris Denver, CO
  17. @blueskadoo One thing that comes to mind is that I recall the app doesn't want the full DOB, but only either the month and day, or month and year. If you try to put in the full DOB it gives an error. Also, I've had it not accept the check-in on the app at the same time it would on the website. You may want to check in on the website then use the app to finalize it. Harris Denver, CO
  18. They are indeed sold out. What's happened is 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 were all cancelled due to COVID, so many of those passengers "lifted and shifted" their cruises to 2024. Harris Denver, CO
  19. You can use this link to opt in to the emails. https://mc1wmw0-rflh5n8g9pwr89vxd3c4.pub.sfmc-content.com/uzeozg3gie3?allowMobile=y&ecid=em_24143617&rid=142753886&mes=Celebrity Loyalty Forbes Power Up Points 25 Feb 2023 EM&emsc=CCC_ZEN_LUX_TRA_M_USA_CO_51_WEB&empf=Y&emct=Z&lnkid=SIGNUP&rcid=25001918 It's a bit hit-or-miss as to whether you get the emails. Honestly the best way is to keep an eye on this thread, and any new opportunities will get posted by your helpful and courteous fellow Cruise Critizens. Harris Denver, CO
  20. You've done everything correctly. Your can create an account for your partner and add your partner's number to the booking later, simply by calling Captain's Club (800-760-0654, presuming you're in the US). The points will credit after the sailing. You may be able to get some pre-cruise points by participating in the "Power Up Points" program. Sign up to receive the emails, and from time to time you'll get opportunities to get a few points. Assuming you live at the same address, ask the Captain's Club representative to link your accounts. That way both accounts will have the points of the person with the most points. This comes in handy if one of you takes a cruise without the other, or in the event one of you earns extra points (e.g. Power Up points) Harris Denver, CO
  21. The points should have shown up by now. I would call the Captain's Club, with both your cruise's confirmation number, and your Captain's Club number at hand. Often for new enrollments to the Captain's Club, your Captain's Club number may not have been attached to your reservation. It's definitely worth a call. Harris Denver, CO
  22. Your needs will be met. There is free drinking water in every room on the ship. Check in the bathroom for a chrome plated dispenser. Celebrity provides two reusable glasses for in-room consumption of this water; or guests may bring their own container to take the water elsewhere with them. Harris Denver, CO
  23. 1. How long before my points will show up in my online profile? Or if I called, say to upgrade to the premium beverage package, would the rep be able to see that I should have the points and give me the 5% discount? Generally about a week to 10 days AFTER your cruise. So if this is your first Celebrity cruise, you won't have any points - and will be "Preview" level, until after your first cruise. It's an event for all Captain's Club members, with drinks, an introduction of the Ship's Officers, and live music. It's generally on a sea day, and can be fun, but not a "make-or-break" type thing. These are particular sailings, with some enhanced benefits. I wouldn't think you'd seek these out, but if you were looking at two sailings, and this was one of them, it might tip the scale. Nothing special for Captain's Club. You will get an additional on-board credit on the future sailing, and a reduced deposit. The upgrade is not from Category to category, but from room type to room type. For example from an obstructed view veranda to a regular veranda, or from a veranda to a prime veranda. Not for Veranda to Concierge, or Concierge to Aqua. Harris Denver, CO
