  1. Thanks. I'm genuinely curious if coke zero and sprite zero are now available in quantity across the fleet, at least via US embarkation ports. That would be good information to know.
  2. Arrive when you want now. And always actually
  3. I wasn't aware they finally had coke and sprite zero as options. That's good to know, thanks. I assume they could be swapped for the mini bar setup like any other soda, yes? Are they available fleetwide now? Would change my bring on board strategy. Wouldn't need to bring them at embaration, and could instead get more at ports as needed.
  4. Does Princess now offer zero drinks like coke zero or sprite zero, or still just the standard ones in cans?
  5. Yes, you can take onboard at embarkation and at ports. That's what we do now since the package price increases. I take a tumbler and get ice, and just pack a couple of drinks of some kind a day during the day to have with me. I can always fill up at bars or the buffet should I need more ice.
  6. My TA has group rates as well. I think these folks are getting an AI or drink package included in their price and not really realizing there are various pricing tiers is my guess.
  7. I do have a Celebrity question and will post here since it's a comparison with Princess. Princess will sell you a 12 pack of water for $8, or a single 1.5L bottle for $5. Does Celebrity offer anything similar? I know you can bring onboard soft drinks and water, but wasn't sure if they offered something like Princess?
  8. Everything is getting a price. Want a pool chair, $5/day. It's coming.
  9. And they have doubled the price of it in the last year. Wifi cost is ridiculous
  10. The alcohol and highest non alcoholic drink packages include the coffee at the IC. You'll have to figure if it's worth the price or to buy ala carte
  11. Last year, people commented that we would tell a huge difference in food quality on Celebrity over Princess. Again, we were on Infinity, but our impression was the food quality was comparable with no discernable difference in quality.
  12. I have grown to accept the medallion, but you need to track charges to your account closely, as we have been charged wrong amounts and charges that were not ours. The proximity of the Medallions can show multiple customers to the bartenders and I think it's very easy to charge the wrong person.
  13. Been on 25 Princess and 1 Celebrity (Infinity) last year and Princess pizza has always been excellent to us, and the pizza on Infinity was frozen pizza quality. With that said, we enjoyed Infinity and are doing equinox in October to try a newer and bigger ship than Infinity. Service was a bit better on Celebrity overall, but Princess rooms and TV options are better to us, but we have only sailed on the oldest Celebrity ship. Princess is by and large cheaper as well. But that gap is closing
  14. I've mentioned this in other threads. I do not buy the package for the reason you mention, but I'm glad people are, and I'm guessing the majority of the ship. It's high profits for the cruise line, people are happy paying for it for various reasons mentioned in this thread, and I hope is keeping cruise only cost down for the rest of us. Win/win/win for all.
  15. So, has there been more info released on the retreat area? It seems some of the early renderings didn't have a actual retreat area, it moved the retreat pool into the sanctuary? Is there going to be an adults only retreat area on the Sun Princess?
  16. You can ask for some and they will bring them to you.
  17. No. You can purchase bottles of water onboard,or drink what is available for free. We prefer to buy ours and bring onboard. Save a few dollars. Water, tea, and coffee are included for free.
  18. We stopped getting packages after the last price increase. I can pay for tips and wifi for a 7 day cruise and be $500 cheaper than a package for 2 people. We now just bring our own water and drinks we want onboard as needed at embarkation and stops. If we want a mocktail or specialty coffee we will just buy it.
  19. That sounds good, but you need to be sure that an upgrade is an upgrade. If you want to be in a particular location of the ship, you might not get upgraded there. Upgrades are subject to be downgrades depending on your preferences.
  20. Only if you drink a lot. It's extremely expensive. We just bring on board the non alcoholic drinks we want at embarkation and stops. Saves a ton of money. I suppose if you wanting a drink here and there, just pay for the ala carte.
  21. I mean, why not. People have shown they will pay extremely high prices for virtually anything without any thought to what they are doing.
  22. I would agree if you can drink enough soda items to make it worth while. We prefer coke zero and sprite zero, so I just buy packs and take onboard at embarkation and stops as needed. We find that works for us, and saves us a lot of money we can use for other things.
