  1. We've never done a wrap. Honestly, we're mostly OV types splurging for a Balc once in awhile. Had our first Aft on a 4 night Catalina run last Spring and honestly didn't like the direct sun. But it was great to try it. I've had a chance to peek into those wraps. NICE.
  2. Have you ever had a bowling alley @BlerkOne? We haven't. But I put a Hold on that thing as fast as I could and my wonderful PVP followed up w/ her magic. It was literally $100 plus a couple extra tax dollars. That's $5 pp/pd. Yep. And if it doesn't have 2 loungers already there, I'm 100% confident that an Andrew Jackson currency paper thing to my world class steward will make it happen before those 1:30p heavy doors even open to the commoners.
  3. I kid you people not. An hour ago we got unbelievably lucky and were able to upgrade our standard Balc to a 'bowling alley' for our upcoming European cruise for the price of a Steakhouse dinner. SO glad that posters here frightened someone away! 😁
  4. See that Clam Shell on the Serenity @BlerkOne? No, no, the one next to it. There you go; that's it. That one is MINE. Don't forget!
  5. I'm also seeing the bike rental places like Spokes. We could do a half day evening rental (4-10p) and cover more ground. I've looked up Cactus and Sylvia. This is so helpful @martincath.
  6. Anything can happen but I think you are good. Obviously self disembark at the earliest possible opportunity. Talking w Guest Services and mentioning that JetBlue made the last minute change is a great idea.
  7. We enjoy hiking @martincath so maybe I nice walk from the hotel out to the Totem Poles, back through the Rose Garden and over to Stanley Park Brewpub for dinner (or somewhere else on the route) looks to be about 6.5kms. I think our bus gets to Vancouver about 2:45p so we could probably head out by 4. Feel free to make my plan better. TY in advance.
  8. Make sure you sent a nice note to your doctor for making them work on Sunday! 🙂 Enjoy your cruise.
  9. I understand completely. Was it this summer? Again, I've indicated somewhere here on CC that I think Carnival really stepped in it when they maxxed out ships over the peak summer season w/o having sufficient staff. What you're describing isn't acceptable.
  10. I normally say 6 because I typically view the B2B2B as one, not 3. We also have 3 more this year; Alaska (on Princess), Pride out of Rome, and a quickie out of New Orleans which is more an excuse to enjoy Bourbon/Frenchman for a couple nights before sailing. Enjoy your trips!
  11. I find your commentary interesting @vacruizer. We've been on 8 cruises since the restart (counting all the B2Bs individually) on 5 different ships. Our experience hasn't been anything like that whatsoever. Probably the worst things we experienced was the classic 'too loud in the hallway' coming back at 2a that woke me up (just folks w/one too many not being intentionally rude) and the smoking neighbors next door that I personally dealt with without involving ship personnel. Seriously, that's it. On top of that my experience with the crew has been absolutely extraordinary ranging from bartenders to stewards and waiters. I mean fully personal attention that went way above the call of duty. Now admittedly that was well before the summer crunch that always stretches the crew. And I'm searching my memory to see if I 'rose colored' anything. I don't think so. Seriously, the worst was getting a little tired of the MDR offerings that repeated on our B2B2B. Of course we knew that would be the case and would order differently on each leg. I mean how many times do you really want brisket in 14 days?
  12. When we did our Pride 14 day Journey in October '21 I teased my PVP that she had mistakenly booked us on HAL. This ain't no 3 day trip to Nassau.
  13. I've sailed many times on Carnival including 14 days on Pride. I've never had a bad day aboard and she is one of my favorite ships in the fleet. I have absolutely zero interest in an Oasis Class vessel or the services and pampering associated with the Haven. I say this ONLY to suggest to you the kind of cruiser I am, not to begrudge other's preferences. I acknowledge that Carnival has had staffing issues this summer (I've not personally seen it as we don't typically sail in peak family season) and I further acknowledge that they probably made a strategic mistake by packing the ships when they didn't have the necessary personnel. Add to that problems related to staffing and supply chain issues generally. All that said, we've got 31 days onboard Pride in Europe scheduled in the next 12-13 months. See you on the Lido!
  14. Was your ORIGINAL July 8th test proctored or administered by a health care provider where you have documented evidence? If it was, you can present that. If it was a simple 'home test' where you have no lab corroborated results, you do not have the necessary 'document of recovery' and will need to test negative in order to board. And I'm so very sorry. You're missing the 'no testing' cutoff by just a few days.
  15. You can also go to your Cruise Planner on the Carnival web page. And I agree, formal port changes weeks in advance are typically accompanied by an email. Don't sweat it OP. They are both nice ports. It's not like they are substituting St. Maarten with Freeport! So inconsequential as to not be worth a second though really.
  16. The Conquest Journey departs 1/28/24. We're particularly looking forward to returning to Dominica and getting to Grenada for the first time on that cruise.
  17. Thank you. We'll get there in plenty of time. Our bus is already Sold Out so I was glad I purchased the tickets some weeks ago. We'll certainly be able to schlep our own luggage out to the bus in Seattle so I'm assuming the driver or porter simply loads the suitcases underneath at curbside. And from your description, it sounds like 'check-in' is really nothing more than waiting for the announcement and heading out to board, ticket in hand. If I'm wrong, kindly advise. It's been many decades since I've taken a 'Thru-way' bus. Any suggestions for our afternoon/evening in Vancouver from Barclay? It's going to be a long 3 weeks of total travel time for us but some limited sightseeing and a decent casual dinner is in order. Only time we were there before we immediately had to depart Canada Place for the airport.
  18. You're always a wealth of info here. There's a decent # of folks here on CC that actually try hard to provide valuable info. I like to think we're both in that camp. We're hoping to do some sailing during our visit. My son's good friends own a boat up in Edmonds. They've promised to take us sailing anytime we visit in the summer. That said, hubby will need an evening 'hall pass' with a one year old toddler at home. "But honey, jsglow and his wife are coming out and you know we've promised them." 👍 If the weather holds I bet it happens.
  19. Yep. We're on the Dream this January hitting St. Croix on the way back. In 2024 we're on the Conquest doing a spectacular Journey all the way down to Grenada. They ain't cheap, that's for sure. I would jump onboard a San Juan 'A/B Route' 7-day B2B (Leewards/Windwards and then ABCs) in a heartbeat. For the life of me I can't figure out why they can't iron things out with the San Juan port authorities. Note is was a terminal dispute and NOT Covid that initially caused Carnival to leave SJU.
  20. Lemme also jump in here @Ferry_Watcher while I've got you. We've got our tickets purchased for the Cantrail bus (purchased directly from Amtrak as the 'no train' substitute) departing King St. Station to Pacific Central Station on our way up to Vancouver. If you would be so kind, could you walk us through the 'non standard' boarding process. Do we simply walk up to the normal Amtrak counter and begin the check-in process there? Do we board like 30 minutes before the bus departs and just sit in the lovely waiting room until called? Any guidance/advice for that morning is appreciated. For what it's worth, we'll either be Ubering or getting a ride from our son down to King St. On the other end, we'll be staying overnight at the Barclay Hotel. So I'm assuming a cab over from Pacific Central and then either a cab or a nice 20 minute walk the following morning to the ship? TY in advance for your always fantastic guidance.
  21. Fully vaxxed means the full initial series (2 shots for Moderna, for example) completed more than 14 days before the cruise. Full stop.
  22. NO. It's a 5 night cruise. Debarkation morning doesn't count. Cruising always counts the overnights onboard. A 7 day cruise literally spans briefly into the 8th day.
  23. Told you guys the announcement would be by close of business today.🤑
  24. Certainly well within the 'reasonable' realm.
