  1. Another good place for fado is Tasca do Chico in Alfama.
  2. If you go on the museum's website, you will see that tickets are not sold on free Sundays. If the OP has to choose one, the Ufizzi would be the best bet. It is a larger venue that admits more people per hour and there is a lot more to see inside. They can all admire the David's replica in the Piazza della Signoria right outside the Ufizzi.
  3. Book the 10:30 time. You might not be cleared to disembark right at 9. Do take a taxi. Don't even think about walking. It is too far. Note that on the SF website you first book a tour time and then you say at which time you want to enter ahead of the tour (15 or 30 minutes).
  4. If you take a private tour you can specify what you want and don't want to see. Check https://www.friend-in-france.com/private-tours
  5. Yes! Normandy is worth a visit. But, please, be very specific as to what you are interested in. Normandy is a wonderful and historical region of France. It is much more than just the WW2 landing sites. Check out these websites for Normandy. https://www.planetware.com/tourist-attractions-/normandy-f-hn-nor.htm https://about-france.com/regions/normandy.htm https://www.france-voyage.com/tourism/normandie-region.htm https://en.normandie-tourisme.fr/discover/
  6. Do tell them that you will be posting a great review on CC.
  7. Eze and Cannes are in France, not Italy. Post on the France board.
  8. You are not missing anything. Livorno is the most popular port in area because it is closer to Florence. Because of the huge number of ships that dock there, many cruises stop at La Spezia. So adjust your tours accordingly. You'll be fine. PS- I am out of covid jail and will check back from time to time if you have more questions.
  9. The answer is NO. You have a better chance of winning the lottery than to book a good tour on arrival.
  10. Two nights means that you only have one full day there and that will be the day you go to Padua. If possible, add another night so you can actually visit Venice. Do check the port for the cruise. Is it Ravenna, Trieste, Marghera? Could it be one of the very few small ships that leaves from Venice? Transportation could require you to leave Venice early on your last day. The most convenient area for you would be around Piazzale Roma. The Marriott AC would be a good choice.
  11. Or book directly with George's Taxi. They have vans and buses of all sizes. taxigreece.com
  12. Saint Paul the Vence would be more doable for someone with limited mobility than Eze. A driver can bring a mobility impaired person just to the entrance of the town by the restaurant Le Tilleul. The access to the center of the town by the fountain is more of a long, straight ramp than in Eze. From the fountain, you can continue straight down the main street for a good distance. There are a couple more areas to explore up from the fountain for the more able. I would really recommend a scooter for a more comfortable ride on the stone pavements. Your mom would not be able to see as much in Eze. There are more switch backs and steeper climbs in Eze. Another possibility is Antibes, a medieval town right on the shore. The entire town is flat and you can cover it all with the scooter. There are many sidewalk cafes and areas where your mon can stop and rest. Antibes can be easily combined with Saint Paul. Nice old town is also flat. You would all enjoy the Flower Market. We have often used this company for airport transfers. You might want to check their tours. At any rate, email them and explain your situation. https://www.friend-in-france.com/private-tours Look at itinerary idea #1 in this tour. It could be easily adapted to your requirements. https://www.friend-in-france.com/product-page/riviera-old-town-tour
  13. All hotels speak English. They will all call you a taxi to take you to the cruise port. If you plan to do a lot of walking, pick a hotel close to Plaza Catalunya, not necessarily on Las Ramblas. Search for hotels on this board. There are a lot of good ones at different price points.
  14. Look at this map. Going from Salerno to Positano you have to drive through Amalfi. From Positano, your tour would take you through Sorrento before going to Pompeii, or there is a shortcut that skips Sorrento. It doesn't make sense to go from Salerno to Sorrento and then to Positano. You can really stop in Amalfi (or Ravello) on the way to Positano. Look at the route in this map. As you can see, Sorrento is on the left and on the opposite coast from Positano. As cruisemom says, there is a fast road from Pompeii to Salerno for your return. https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Salerno,+SA,+Italy/Amalfi,+SA,+Italy/Positano,+84017+SA,+Italy/Pompeii+Archaeological+Park,+Via+Villa+dei+Misteri,+Pompei,+Metropolitan+City+of+Naples,+Italy/Salerno,+SA,+Italy/@40.6711276,14.5424106,11.75z/data=!4m32!4m31!1m5!1m1!1s0x133bc25734bd3089:0x15a49713da0374a0!2m2!1d14.7680961!2d40.6824408!1m5!1m1!1s0x133b95b54921c5d1:0x151a2c999fb2aca9!2m2!1d14.6026805!2d40.6340026!1m5!1m1!1s0x133b9768a710d21b:0x8cde0b2863cede31!2m2!1d14.4849812!2d40.6280528!1m5!1m1!1s0x133bbcbd87d1ea83:0x7ca462808e529b35!2m2!1d14.4819495!2d40.7482568!1m5!1m1!1s0x133bc25734bd3089:0x15a49713da0374a0!2m2!1d14.7680961!2d40.6824408!3e0?hl=en
  15. Don't miss the little museum. It has some really nice stuff from Akrotiri.
  16. Maybe the OP wants to go to a winery. The kids can stand being bored for a half hour. It builds character. 😁
  17. The afternoon tours are now called "Extra Time" at the Sistine Chapel. It includes Happy Hour.
  18. The second is the same as the first, but it adds a winery.
  19. Just a thougt. Do you really want to check in that early and spend the day in an ugly commercial port? If your ship doesn't sail until 5 pm or later, you have a couple of options. One would be to do some additional sightseeing in Rome and leave for the port late morning or early afternoon. The other would be to include an excursion as part of your transfer to the ship. For example: https://www.romecabs.com/tours/precruise-rome-countryside-tour/
  20. They run frequently and you can buy tickets at any of the ports.
  21. Patience is very long right now. I am stuck in the house with covid rebound for a couple more days. (Almost no symptoms, but positive test.) You are providing me with lots of entertainment. 🙂
  22. No need for a pass to walk in the towns. They are towns like any other, but a lot prettier. Find out if you have the option of taking the ferry to Riomaggiore and meeting your guide there. You have a long day in port so you have plenty of time to do that.
  23. Instead of Sorrento go to Amalfi and Positano. BTW -Sorrento is not on the Amalfi coast. Amalfi is. 😉
  24. Good idea. Pisa first. Then you can have a relaxed dinner in Florence and you'll be wanting to get back to the ship after a long day.
