  1. Onward is presently doing 15.5 knots and for the first time in quite awhile we have a little movement with a 3-5 foot sea. We are off the coast of Somalia so the fire hoses are ready here on promenade.Presently we are enjoying the cushioned sun lounges on the partial promenade deck port side. Enjoying a good book but the ocean breeze and the sound of the ocean is threatening to become nap time. They had a pool side BBQ lunch today and that is also causing drowsiness. We just love to cruise. It’s going to be hard to return to land. Thanks for the reports and post. Bruce
  2. On our world voyage we have had some encounters with some 22-24 foot seas and I used a Eme Term wrist band that send electrical pulse to the brain which sends message to stomach. Approved by FDA and is effective in 83% of people. People with pacemakers should not use. I learned about the device when my daughter had morning sickness during her pregnancy and her Dr. told her to get one. It immediately stopped her nausea. I have used it and have not had motion sickness.
  3. He’s back and talking. The infamous Master Of The Ship Captain Carl. The officers on the bridge are getting their use of sextent daily lessons. Per is noon hour speech we have sailed 25,800 miles nautical miles since leaving Florida. We have 2,000 + NM until our next port in Mauritius.
  4. It’s a pleasant Sunday afternoon here. I have a haircut scheduled in an hour. Last night!’s Other Guys quartet singing Four Season Tribute was good and tonight we have a ventriloquist. We attended a Middle East themed brunch and tonight we will dine under the stars at a A La Carte dinner. Attended a guest lecture by a tech guy teaching us how to get the most out of our phones or hand held computers. Eight more classes/lectures on this. Interesting and useful. As he stated It’s a computer that can make calls.Other than that we enjoyed talking to another couple and we are both enjoying reading and enjoying our verandha. Here’s wishing you all a happy and safe Sunday. Thanks for the reports and post. Bruce
  5. Just catching up on CC. Enjoying hearing about your cruise. Thanks for sharing.
  6. It’s a beautiful day and a smooth Indian Ocean. Per Captain we now have traveled 25,500 nautical miles since leaving Port Everglades Jan 4. We have had two pods of dolphins sightings today. First set were Spinner Dolphins and the second was a larger species. We attended a lecture from our guest NASA astrologer and tonight will be Captain’s welcome followed by a male singing group who do 60’s rock and roll like Four Seasons. We’ve all been tasked to keep our drapes shut and no light’s on balcony. Just precautionary as we are sailing in troubled waters with history of pirates and other bad guys. Final census is 145 guest onboard and that will decrease as we reach other ports of call. In the meantime we have seven straight days at sea. I have enjoyed sharing our great adventure with you all and hope all doing okay or better. Thanks for the reports and post. Bruce
  7. It’s 13:35 and a few minutes before Muster Drill. Here’s what it looks like which is usually a pretty active Deck Five. I love the wood decor on this ship. Must get ready for muster. Later.
  8. It’s 13:35 and a half hour before Muster Drill on Oneard. This is what it’s like on deck 5.😄
  9. Some photo’s of Dubai. Architectural wonders to tallest building in the world. Hotels that go for $2,000 to 8,000 plus per night. Dubai Mall with 3,500 stores. It’s an amazing place to visit
  10. We’ll leave the light on for you. I’m currently sitting in Living Room and have the whole place to myself. Tonight Windows is closed and dining options are Prime or Discovery. It’s like having Onward as your private yacht.
  11. Today on Onward we are saying goodbye’s and safe travels to several folks we have been sailing with since January and others from different segments. We will set sail at 3.00 PM from Dubai with around 120 guest onboard. It definitely will take a couple of days getting used to new schedules. Captain Carl is back onboard and we said our goodbyes to Captain G. Last night. Our detour around Africa will take 32 days before we start our regular last segment in Venice. Dubai was amazing.
  12. The mall we went to was named Dubai Mall on the outdoor sign. If it has another name I cannot remember on our whirlwind excursion.
  13. Dubai is a wow! Toured around some of the highlights. Actually the whole city is a highlight. Dubai Mall with it’s mind boggling 3,500 stores and huge aquarium and cascading waterfalls. The tallest building in the world and incredible architecture all throughout. Rode a Abra to Souq ( Market). Saw luxury hotels that can range from $2,000.00 to $8,000.00 per night and up. Our last three ports in United Arab Emirates has been mind boggling. We are here overnight and sail tomorrow night.
  14. No but if you book future excursions on a previous Azamara cruise you could save 10% on your next cruise excursions.
  15. Abu Dhabi what a beautiful modern city. The finding of oil in mid 50’s with the vision and leadership of it’s Emeritus has led to a utopian life for those who were born in UAE. Opulent wealth oozes. They are still building museums, grand theme parks, skyscrapers and even more man made islands. Emerits pay no income tax, free medical, pensions and the list goes on. Late sailing tonight for an overnight plus day stay in Dubai. Ends this segment and we start our detour around Africa. Thanks for the report and post. Bruce
  16. Your welcome. That’s what the Daily is mainly about. Sharing our experiences and life’s. Most importantly we all love to cruise.
  17. Many hours of research. Planning is half the fun. You Tube helps. Simply search You Tube and ask top ten things to do in a port. Cruise Critic and Trip Advisor get you to right tours and guides.
  18. Today Onward visited Sir Bani Yas United Arab Emirates a 32 sq. mile island off the coast of UAE. Purchased by the sheikh who has developed into a 17,000 animal preserve. Several are endangered species. The animals appear to be well cared for as being a desert environment they do receive supplemented feeding and water. The culinary team hauled ton’s of supplies ashore to provide us a wonderful beach side BBQ lunch. Amazing team. Tomorrow Abu Dhabi.
  19. Now that internet seems stronger here are the pictures that didn’t load on previous post about Sir Bani Yas. QAE. QAE’s version of Half Moon Cay.
  20. Today we are visiting Sir Bani Yas a 32 sq. mile island off the coast of United Arab Emerites on the Persian Gulf. The Sheikh purchased the island and developed it into a 17,000 animal Game Preserve along with a couple luxury resorts, kayaking, bicycling and beautiful beaches. Our ship hauled a ton of supplies off the ship and provided us with a great beach BBQ lunch. Tomorrow we visit UAE’s main city Abu Dhabi. It has been a very memorable day. The animals appeared to be very well taken care of. Being a desert island they receive some supplemented food and plenty of watering spots. Thanks for the reports and post. Bruce We have a real weak signal so most of pictures just won’t load. Will try later.
