  1. Howard Johnson’s fried clams were good but those full belly fried clams from Canada or New England are the best. That’s all I have to say about that!
  2. Good morning friends. @kazu Jacqui I’m happy to hear you got a diagnosis that identified the cause of your pain. I pray that they can get you in early and that your pain disappears. Whew it is humid at 88% accompanied by lite rain. Seeing the mass destruction that Beryl has done to some of the islands is sad. It will take a long time for the population to recover. The Betty Crocker Grilled Southwest shrimp salad was a great meal and I would highly recommend it. For the Fourth we are having grilled beef short ribs with fresh corn on the cob and salad. It was nice having Sue back and you could tell she has been on Eastern Time with her 4:30 wake up! Our cleaning lady is coming and if I had known that yesterday I wouldn’t have done as much cleaning as I did. So that’s what’s happening here. Enjoy your Hump Day and thanks for the post. Bruce
  3. Yes the Colonel safely made it home.😊❤️
  4. Good morning. Up early and busy doing laundry, washing floors and erasing my bachelor pad. Why? The Colonel is coming home and I need to be ready for a white glove inspection. 😁 It will be great having her back and she has been missed. I’m making a Southwest shrimp salad with grilled corn kernels that always hits the spot. I have managed to keep the house pretty tidy so no monumental task needed. Keeping a close watch on Beryl as it destroys islands in its path. Our time share in Cancun may feel its effects. Of course living in the Gulf states one never knows. Time to be ready as it Tis the season. Have a great day and I do pray those of you with ailments will have quick recovery and healing. Thanks for the reports and post. Bruce
  5. Happy Canada Day to our Canadian friends. Did my walk early as it’s a beautiful day but we are under heat advisory’s. It’s laundry day and I need to go to grocery store for tonight’s dinner. Sue is driving back to St. John’s today and will return here tomorrow. I will have to look at our 2026 Seabourn itinerary if we are going to today’s port of call. The itinerary has many ports in Japan. Time to get out of these sweaty exercise clothes and clean up and get going. Thanks for the reports and post. Bruce
  6. Good morning. Attending church online today. Another day with chances of rain. Keeping an eye on the tropics to see where this storm may be headed. Looks like it’s going to be a long dangerous hurricane season. It’s a pretty time in NW, Florida as the Crape Myrtle’s are reaching full bloom and they are bountiful. Not much on today’s agenda. NASCAR, cooking dinner. Taking a day off from walking. So time for church. More later. Have a great Sunday and week. Bruce
  7. Okay! Late evening movies equals later morning wake ups. Grilled some fresh ears of corn on the grill, along with prime cut hamburger ( no bun) and a sliced beef steak tomato for dinner. Leaning toward some BBQ wings tonight. It’s 82 and overcast at present and there is small rain blips on radar. Time for a walk before it get’s any warmer or rainy. Enjoy your weekend and thanks to all who contribute to the Daily. Bruce
  8. It was a great tour and cruise. Thanks for the memories.
  9. Good morning. Slept in later than usual. My face is looking a little rough this morning because of all the freezing at the dermatologist’s earlier this week. Folks will just have to live with it. My doctors’s appointment went well and I was given a list of needed routine blood test before next visit. So I need to go to get a few grocery’s this morning to get me through the weekend. @Vict0riann Was happy to hear all went well with your surgery. Life is pretty quiet here but I’m enjoying my freedom of choosing “Guy flicks” on Prime and Netflicks. It’s currently 85 degrees and humidity is up there as evidenced by some moisture on some windows. It’s the season that a pop up rain shower is quite possible every day and of course we keep a close eye on the tropics. Enough Blah chatter from me. Have a great day and upcoming weekend. Thanks for the reports and post. Bruce
  10. Good morning and quite the morning it was. Early this morning we started getting strong thunderstorms with torrential rain. Rain gauge looks like 4”. Power blips. Definitely can shut down the sprinkler system for a couple of days. Good chance more rain is on the way. Yesterday I mentioned doctor’s appointment but I caught the mistake that the appointment is actually today. @VictorianThought’s and prayer for a successful surgery. @kazu My goodness I do pray you get some good and healing news one of these day. Enough is enough! Tonight is my church small group study get together so I have some homework this morning in order to prepare. So I’m on my own for a few days. Need to plan a couple of meals. Have a great Thursday and thanks for the reports and post. Bruce
  11. Good morning. Currently 84 degrees and will rise to mid nineties. Hear thunder in the distance but it looks like the storm will miss us. Yesterday’s way to cool down was a visit to my dermatologist. Had about ten suspicious spots frozen and I’m scheduled for a biopsy on leg and a spot on my back. Today I see my doctor for just a routine checkup. I’ll be taking Sue to pick up a rental car in a bit. She is driving to Saint John’s Fla. today to daughter’s house and tomorrow they will drive to Virginia for the annual sister’s weekend. So that’s what’s happening in our neck of the woods. Here’s wishes for a great Hump Day for all of you subscribers to the Daily. Thanks for the reports. Bruce
  12. Not ready for Christmas and will not succumb. Thank you!
  13. Up early to get ready for my annual dermatology appointment. Yes I could be a full time seafarer if I won the lottery. Seeing I don’t play the lottery I should be very happy of my part time status. I love French Onion Soup and we enjoy it quite often. We finally received a nice afternoon shower yesterday and that may be what triggers more frequent afternoon pop ups. Sue tells me the car needs gas so do need to leave early for my appointment. Thanks for the reports and congratulations to our Florida Panther finally clinching the Stanley Cup.
  14. Good morning. It’s already 82 degrees and humid. We do have a 60% chance of rain this afternoon. We could use it. We were in Valencia last June and visited some fortressed old city near Valencia. The name escapes me at the moment. Need to get my walk in as it is not getting any cooler. Being Monday it’s laundry day and that sure pegs the excitement meter! Our neighbors returned last night so my cat duties are over and maybe some allergy relief as I’m allergic to cats. Loved our cats for years but do not miss allergy symptoms. That’s all for now. Have a great week. Bruce
  15. Short post as church services are soon. We missed our Suez Canal transit this year. Though many have told us it’s rather dull we were still looking forward to it. Perhaps some other time. Never have had a Detroit style pizza but would like to give it a try. NASCAR is on tap this afternoon if it doesn’t get rained out. Got to go more later. Bruce
  16. Enjoy your cruise. Volendam was our first Hal cruise.
