  1. As far as I could tell, the theatre and dining rooms were the only places without medallion app order/delivery. Perhaps the buffet too?? The dining room still had their usual table service for drinks, and we have now learned to get our drinks before going into the theatre. I have been a Crooners fan for as long as I have been a Princess fan. The area is a bit small though, and is full when there is a pianist on duty. The ex-Churchills is nearby to order the Crooners menu via medallion, and quieter than quiet. Spent an "enchanted" evening sampling every bourbon they had at the Explorers Lounge, and tried to help some friends with some trivia answers along the way. Good Spirits will get a lot more attention on our next one. For some reason, I have never been a big Wheelhouse fan going back to the Sun class ships. Don't know why, as they are nice enough spaces.
  2. I saw that somewhere - I think Royal's AU instagram hads a video clip. Good PR to try and get a trial cruise to visit Vila in November.
  3. It's all ice cream, just a different flavour. Carnival adds fluoro sprinkles.
  4. Yep, it would give you the pips 😂 Expensive because Julio is below deck squeezing them with his bare hands. I gather they have the little machine where you drop an orange in the top, and you see it juicing through the clear window on the front of the machine - Royal has something like that, and also ridiculously priced.
  5. Noted for our Majestic cruise into there late next month. We weren't making any real plans, apart from friends that me might catch-up with outside the terminal. PS: Brisbane needs to learn. If they want people to spend money in Brisbane, they need to at least give passengers the opportunity.
  6. If they charged $2 for fresh orange juice to anyone on the package, they would drop the demand in half (at least) in the same way most people won't pay $2 extra for an $18 cocktail
  7. Ahh, yes, a 4 night cruise (their cruise) with a majority of passengers with an inclusive drinks package. Absolutely bar service could be stretched, as we have experienced on other lines in the past when they have drink packages inclusive in their fares. The app worked fine on Coral a couple of months ago, and the package suits us to the ground. The only delays in getting a drink were on the sun deck approaching sailaway time; or peak times for a coffee. The app works fine for some, and not for others. There is a HUGE tip on one of the medallion threads about the best way connect to it. I won't have a fancy video, but we will do our own review of the premier package when we board Coral again in 10 days. I agree the juice charge is ridiculous, as you can keep throwing down $16 cocktails all day. With perspective, it still beats the absolute [enter your choice of expletive] out of all of their competitors' drink packages ATM.
  8. Nah, we are better at it. They would have had to have had some sort of problem that prevented the line from moving. Ovation has managed OK for most OPT embarkations.
  9. Aussie power points to replace the Euro ones Rebranding of most Costa areas to Carnival ones, but still essentially the same decor. Aussie pokies in the casino The usual below waterline inspections and service s carried out in drydock Not too sure that much else happened.
  10. I feel the same. The front of the queue is as fast as the back of it, as long as you don't have to wait for it to open. Our embarkation creed is always to get lunch, unpacking, onboard bookings out of the way before muster, and even easier now we can muster in our own time in the cabin. Also, when travelling a few hours to the ship, once it is in sight and luggage dropped, it is hard to walk away. That said, we are not in a rush, but found when you have priority boarding, things flow best when you take advantage of it.
  11. Are you able to get a pay as you go global roaming plan (no extended contract) with T-mobile? I have bought a US sim to use in North America in the past, but since found it easier and comparatively priced to just use global roaming with my Aussie carrier.
  12. Hope it is going well Stu. No doubt you have dined with the Captain by now. 😉 Who is the Captain, and do you know if he/she will still be in charge after Majestic arrives in Sydney?
  13. If booked through a T/A, you will have likely had your dining assigned by the T/A. If this has already been chosen, you can't change it yourself. Options are fixed early, fixed late or anytime (your time) - the old fashioned Princess way. As far as I am aware, you only get those 3 options, and don't get to pre-book anytime booking times via the app This is how my screen looks via PC:
  14. Going by Carnival's social media, Luminosa will be transiting via Dubai. While a little out of the way, it is likely to be a convenient port for flying in and getting visas for crew. She is currently taking fuel. Her AIS has recently updated, and she will be departing soon for Port Said/Suez Canal.
  15. So far, it would seem they have chosen not to pay for overpriced ship internet. No, they are not mad, all of cruise internet is OTT for month long cruises. I suspect some major instalment updates when they start-up their domestic cruises. They hit Sydney on Friday.
  16. And P&O as well. It isn't just about gratuitous swearing, but about being loose with political correctness and mature content. Some of the funniest comedians I have seen don't swear much at all, but are sharp in observational comedy. Princess, among others, tone everything down and not just language. There are a few comedians that can still be funny that way, but often bland comedy is just not funny, especially if we have heard it all before.
  17. So, you didn't see the medallion cougar function on the app?
  18. Forget the Hub for that part. https://www.carnival.com.au/booked/details
  19. Forget the powerboard, and add these to your World cruise packing list. It would be awesome to see these in the dining room at breakfast time 😉
  20. Poor form. Even if they corrected the website today, there is likely 100K plus who have already booked under the existing terms. At least Royal Caribbean had the foresight, and has always excluded freshly squeezed juices from their drink packages.
