I did Chef’s Table on the Jewel on the T/A in November. Whilst I thought the food was fabulous I didn’t enjoy most of the wines and did not enjoy our “Sommelier” at all ! Talked more about himself more than the wine and not convinced the wines were great quality either. Just my opinion.

Disembarking at PC there was a loudspeaker announcement telling us that porters are happy to carry your bags and are paid by the port and do not need to be tipped! I still tipped but only $5 Think there are a few paranoid people on this thread though!

They often have special prices on port days. Also usually a buy 3 and get 10% off 1st, 20% off 2nd and 30% off 3rd (or similar) but prices are pretty ridiculous otherwise IMO!

I sailed in the TA in Oct/Nov and loved the ship. The only tatty thing was the sofa in my room too! Otherwise everything looked great. I thought the food in MDR was great. Had a very disappointing meal in Chops and WJ is ok, I’m just not a lover of buffet style eating. Coffee machine in DL worked intermittently, and I wasn’t a great fan of the coffee when it did work 🙄 Overall though a great ship with great crew and I’d sail her again in a heartbeat.

I’ve booked this for the end of my cruise. Have done Everglades airboat rides 3 times now and got to see an amazing number of birds, crocs and alligators. Can’t wait to go again.

Following an Alaskan cruise about 5 years ago, I was stopped by Security at Vancouver airport when the hand luggage conveyor stopped. Everyone was moved except me! I knew I wasn’t carrying anything I shouldn’t so didn’t give it much thought. Out of my hand luggage came an evening bag with “rings” as a clasp, so looked like some form of knuckle duster!! 😱 They did, of course, send me on my way but kept my bag. No idea why I didn’t pack it but hey ho.

Happened several times to me too. Very randomly as I cruise from many different ports and cruise lines. A couple of guys I had played poker with on previous cruises and a couple from UK on Celebrity ship who I had met the previous year on RCI. It’s a small world.

Unfortunately no such thing as an inexpensive hotel in Miami as I’m just finding as cruising out of there in January. Especially if you’re a solo cruiser. I have booked Best Western at Coral Gables near the airport. $300 for an upgraded room ( I.e with aircon!) includes transfer from airport and there is a $10 fee for port shuttle. Booked with free cancellation so happy to hear if there are better options! But re your question I would still choose Harmony.

Oh my! Why do people see the negatives in everything. It seems reasonable to me but then I’m more than likely to be in bed by midnight - call me Cinderella or boring! 😂🥳

My favourite was on Vision. This may have more to do with the service and the people I met there but it was a lovely little venue IMO 🥂

Miami hotels so expensive especially as I’m solo. Booked a room at Best Western (Coral Gables) near airport has free shuttle from airport and port shuttle for $10 had to upgrade the room as original one didn’t have aircon 😱 costing me $300. I figured as I won’t need a taxi into Miami or to the port that it’s probably a good deal?

Maybe you’re in the minority! I did the Monkey River tour in Belize on my last trip and it was amazing. Would love to go back.

As a solo traveller I think it’s worthwhile as I get the internet for business purposes anyway. So for that little extra I like it and will continue to use it.

Just shows how different we all are, no way would I suggest missing Ephesus, it really is a must see place. I’m not generally one for ruins but Ephesus is just awesome. The site of one of the 7 ancient wonders of the world,though that’s not there of course but what has been unearthed is really out of this world. I have only visited twice but would return in a heartbeat. As others have said, all of these ports are fantastic but I would still miss out Santorini and view it’s beauty from the ship and sea.

I tend to book balcony cabins but have no problem with an inside one. Always sleep really well in them.
