  1. Lol...it is the most common breakfast meat by far yet some are puzzled why people mention it? I'm just glad some on here are now forced to admit it is because of being cheap. I have not found a land based restaurant or competing cruise line that has failed to find a way to budget for bacon....just Carnival.
  2. Carnival is the only entity left with a bacon shortage 'due to Covid' and all that. Lol.
  3. We use it an have never had any issues with damage. Great perk.
  4. On the Elation now. The first trip to the MDR was great last night. We were out in an hour or so and all the food was the correct temp. Brunch this morning was a different story. Seated at 9am before it was really that busy. The starter bagel arrived at 9:55, omelet at 10:20.
  5. I'm on the Elation right now with the middle internet package. Verizon wifi texting or calling does not work from our Samsung phones. We are using Facebook messenger and Google Voice texting.
  6. I will still take the +2.3% from RCL over the last 30 over the -18.6% from CCL.
  7. The earlier boarding group gets you on the ship earlier, arrival time just gets you in the terminal.
  8. I've noticed the same. On the internet most seem to be to busy handing out $20's to even enjoy the cruise. Everyone on here for example tips extra with every drink. In my real life of many many (probably too many) hours sitting at a bar people watching I would say it is less than 10%.
  9. That is what it says until Carnival assigns the cabin. No real reason to call because the cabin does not have to be assigned until boarding if they want.
  10. The original post stated he was told the Mojito is just rum and lime juice which is not correct. A Mojito has a sweetner in it, not sure really what we are arguing because it is certainly not just rum and lime juice. "They just put rum and lime juice in a glass, shook it for a second and handed it to you. I asked why they were not putting a simple syrup in it, they told me the drink does not have simple syrup in it just rum and lime juice."
  11. It depends on how many people checked in before you. Diamond and Platinum no longer get priority boarding, it only allows 2 days of early access to the check-in process. If you miss that you just fall wherever you do in the queue.
  12. Enhanced from one of 5 states on the Canadian border is a yes.....Real ID that the rest of the states have is a no.
  13. You can say that again. Applebee's has the upper hand right now.
  14. I believe Carnival has enough assets to restructure if it comes to that..
  15. That is where we are all different. I rarely ever give the Steward an additional tip. We ask them for nothing extra and keep the cabin clean. They are in and out in 10 minutes on the once a day service. Virtually all my extra tips go to bartenders and bar waiters. We spend a lot of time there and there is always a few that go above and beyond to make sure we have a good time.
  16. Strange...I don't know of anyone in real life who wants to spend 1 1/2 hours in the dining room. We had two nights on our July cruise that we left at the 1:15 mark sans dessert because we were tired of waiting. I would say the average for us over the years for 2 people was under an hour with dessert and I thought that was a decent pace.
  17. Issue is they haven't even restarted it for Diamond & Platinum where the early room access started.
  18. I think the point is no sugar was added at all and they claimed it wasn't in the recipe. If that sweetness comes in the form of simple syrup or granulated sugar that is dissolved is semantics, it just needs to be there to offset the tartness.
  19. It depends on what I order for me. If you are just handing me a beer the included gratuity is sufficient. If you are making me a mixed drink that requires attention I will leave some cash. I also always give extra to the roaming servers. Saving me a trip to a busy bar is worth it.
  20. What a bizarre world we live in that when a company borrows $1.25B to pay interest on existing debt that some try to spin it into a positive. In reality, this is the last tactic a company in distress has at its disposal before investor money dries up. This is likely the last kick of the can, at some point the risk for investors is too high.
  21. There is no flexibility with set time dining.
  22. That mirrors my experience on our last 3. We would have a great meal that would get lost in a sea of mediocrity. The consistency and quality just isn't there.
  23. Unfortunately Carnival has done more damage to their brand since the restart than they can fix in a decade. The recent poor behavior on ships has been shared far and wide with ease on social media. I have many friends and co-workers who are not even cruisers mention it to me when the topic comes up that I am leaving for cruise vacation. I also have a few friends who routinely cruise who are avoiding Carnival at this point. It has really taken up a life of its own.
