  1. I agree that Noro is easily spread at many places OTHER than cruise ships. You just don't hear about it and make the connection, because people go in separate directions. I'm very thankful that masks are not required any longer, by anyone.
  2. Curious...why WOULDN'T you use the safe? The first thing we do when we get to the cabin is put our wallets, passports and extra cash into the safe.
  3. I would think your natural immunity would be strong in May! I hope you enjoy your anniversary cruise.
  4. I've only ordered a drink via the app a few times, and I figured the 18% included was enough. I do order a pot of hot tea every night around 10 or so via room service and I tip them. I love getting the hot tea in my room every night. It's a big smack in the face with reality when I come home and have to put the water in the kennel, turn it on and make my own!
  5. We had our first mini bar on our April 1 cruise. It was like reedprincess said "8 minis of booze, usually 2 each gin, vodka, scotch, and whiskey. 2 beers. 6 sodas. 2 still water. 2 sparkling water." I called room service and had the regular sodas, sparkling water and still water all switched to Diet Coke. It came up within an hour or so.
  6. We boarded a few weeks ago and no issues. I know that the cruise right behind ours had delayed boarding and I read that it went smoothly. I will say that Ft Lauderdale boarding is WAY quicker, smoother and better than San Francisco!!! They are very efficient.
  7. I think that they were saying that they buy the premium drinks there, they may be $20/per drink? If you are drinking regular cocktails/beer/wine probably the Plus would work just fine! It did for us. And you can get all of the coffee you want on the Plus, also.
  8. I would go the medical reason route and not even mention the passport situation.
  9. We were on her from April 1-8, where I think the Norovirus first occurred. The precautions that Princess takes is exactly what any cruiseline would do. I'm sorry you are not happy. We had a wonderful cruise. The cruise staff are doing everything that they can to manage the virus, but it is difficult when people won't wash their hands and touch things that they shouldn't. I read a post about someone on the cruise before you that caught it, felt bad, still went to the buffet the next day, went back to bed because they still had diarrhea, and went many places the next day, while still having tummy issues. THAT is the reason they can't stay ahead of this thing.
  10. We've been on The Grand twice and are booked in June. We had no complaints or problems when we went.
  11. We got off of her April 8th and I thought she was in fine shape! Enjoy your cruise. The comediennes were great! The first and third production show were good, the second one, not so much (in our opinion, party of 4). Food was good! We missed two ports due to wind, but we still had a fantastic time. Have fun!
  12. We received OBC when we booked the Plus package for our April 1 cruise. We booked it in November.
  13. DH & I use this and it works great! I bought one for my best friend and one for my SIL, also! Love them https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RC2B9BY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
  14. I didn't pick up any sarcasm in their post, although I do hope that was the case. If they were trying to make a point about passengers being irresponsible, they missed the boat, in my opinion.
  15. Maybe they caught it in Princess Cay, but the OP was still having diarrhea, but went to the buffet several times and to the bar. Regardless of where they caught it, they were contagious at that point.
  16. I'm sorry, but this is EXACTLY how it spreads! You were contagious and went to the buffet. You were contagious and went to the bar. You were contagious and went back to the buffet. No matter how thoroughly Princess cleans, YOU were spreading the germs around the ship.
  17. We were on the April 1-8 cruising on the Caribbean Princess where this outbreak started, about halfway through. We did not catch anything, but we were careful to wash out hands and to keep them away from our faces.
  18. I love the beds on Princess, but I find the pillows a bit too fluffy. I really need three of them to get myself positioned just right!
  19. We love snorkeling in Roatan. We've done it a few times with Christopher Tours and we had them booked again this time. We have told our BIL & SIL that we were traveling with, how great the snorkeling was and how it was our favorite snorkeling spot. We were all disappointed we missed Roatan, but we totally understood. We were up on 16 back the Terrace Pool eating breakfast when we were approaching Costa Maya and we saw The Ruby veer back out to sea. We knew then that we would soon be following her!
  20. We were neighbors! We were in C635. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, too, and I agree with your review. No complaints and I would gladly sail her again soon!
  21. I can't remember who it was, but someone earlier that was upset with Princess for missing the ports and said that they would stick with RC from now on.....I just heard something interesting. The Liberty of the Seas was supposed to go to two ports - Nassau and their private island Perfect Day at CocoCay. With two sea days thrown in after embarkation day. Well, after they set sail they announced that, due to the high winds they could not safely go to either port and they arranged to go to Labadie, Haiti, instead. They changed it to one port day and all of the rest sea days. They were not offering any compensation or OBC. My point? The weather can and will affect the cruise ships ability to get into port. It is unusual, but it does happen to ALL of the cruiselines. It isn't always the strength of the wind, sometimes it is the direction of the wind. I was disappointed, because I had two excursions cancelled that I really wanted to do. But, I wasn't upset with Princess and I really didn't feel that the OBC was necessary, but it was appreciated.
  22. Well, it didn't work for us! LOL But, a lot of people had booked with a promo that included a free specialty dining. We seriously tried and couldn't get in
  23. Not necessarily. We had 2 recent cruises that The Crown Grill was booked solid before we got onboard. We checked after we were onboard and we still couldn't get in. We checked halfway through and it was still sold out. We did get a table on our April 1 cruise, though.
