  1. On the Pearl a couple of weeks ago they didn’t have a Reisling which was available on the package (under $15 glass) but you could get the Chateau St Michelle for $21 a glass which is $6 over the package limit. I can buy the whole bottle at home for $10. I have never seen it anywhere for $21 a glass, not even in the city.
  2. It is an old thread but there are current posts on the second page. On the Pearl a couple of weeks ago there was a schedule in the room. I don’t remember the exact times but there were several every day except for the last day, there was only one. It was very similar to that pre pandemic list on the older thread.
  3. Let’s face it, we are all taking a risk getting on a ship right now. There’s lot of people in close quarters. We all know it and we still choose to sail. I am double vaxed and double boosted, but still tested positive for covid two days after disembarking a ship. I’m a super germaphobe and avoided all crowded spaces such as the buffet and the shows, but it still caught me. Luckily my symptoms were mild and my husband never caught it from me. It’s not stopping me from getting back on in three weeks. We can’t blame the cruise lines for the choices we make ourselves.
  4. I believe you can go down to the Promenade and get coffee and pastry at the Promenade Cafe and sit and wait til it’s your turn.
  5. Thanks for sharing. Flying to Lisbon in December, have the buy one get one air promo, but I think I’ll book my own air. If you read the fine print I think they are allowed 2/3 connections. No thanks.
  6. It is actually spring water. It says it on the carton. I believe it is from a spring somewhere in NY.
  7. If you are worried about inclines, there is a ramp from the tender dock to ground level. When we were there last week that ramp was at a steep incline and was difficult for people with mobility issues. Not impossible, just challenging.
  8. We’ve sailed Anthem several times since the restart. In March there were hardly any shows due to performers in quarantine. On our B2B Led Zeppagain performed so many times we started calling them Led Zeppagain and again and again and again. Luckily we don’t sail for the shows.
  9. We were on a 9 night in May and really enjoyed it. Yes, it’s an older ship, but we thought the food and service were great.
  10. Very true. I was on the Anthem b2b in March after the 15th and no D+ were allowed in the Concierge Lounge. I over heard a very heated argument between the Concierge and a D+ member that was not happy about it. The Concierge said it was up to the hotel director.
  11. Not much of an upgrade but for this Friday I went from an aft suite to a forward facing suite with a low/fair bid. It was kind of a last minute booking and the only aft open was handicapped with a narrow balcony so I really wanted to change my cabin.
  12. On the Pearl 6/17. Applied about a week ago and received the TA within a couple of days. If you are worried, you can call their toll free number. I had to call for a cruise in May and they sent the TA right while we were on the phone.
  13. Yes I know that. I was just saying it wouldn’t be a revenue cruise. In past years there has been a repositioning cruise every year from Boston that goes to the Caribbean and then ends in some Florida port. In 2022 it’s the Voyager, but in the past it has always been a Radiance class ship. I am just surprised that there is no repositioning leg from Boston in 2023 as that is always a very popular sailing. I’ve done it five or six times in past years.
  14. About two days ago. I was watching for a repositioning from Boston to Miami and the Panama Canal showed up. Serenade has a few sailings from Boston ending November 3rd and the first Panama sailing out of Miami is November 7th. I guess there’s not going to be a revenue cruise from Boston to Miami. Seems odd because there’s been a repo every year.
  15. If you have an internet package and an IPhone you can use wifi calling and FaceTime.
  16. On the Adventure last month they were phasing out all of the access on the TV. We were able to look at our account in the beginning of the cruise but all TV access disappeared mid cruise. We were told they are phasing it out and you can only access info on the app now.
  17. What is the category code for the suite guarantee? If it’s WS that’s a Junior Suite guarantee I believe. I have booked it before and it’s always ended up a JS. I would think now with the upgrade bidding your chances of anything better would be small. Love the aft cabins, especially on the Radiance Class. If it’s one of those you have, they’d have to pay me to move.
  18. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Another NH couple here sailing on the Pearl in a couple of weeks.
  19. Not sure if this is valid info, but someone on another thread said it was in effect until spring 2023.
  20. Thanks for the review. I’ll be sailing on the Pearl in June, but have sailed the Dawn from Boston to Bermuda before. I’m glad you enjoyed the ship. I’ve sailed both NCL and Royal and I think NCL has a perfectly good product and it’s great to sail from your home port. Not many choices out of Boston. It’s true, you have to realize what you’re getting with their “free at sea”. It’s a bit more restrictive than they let on. We tend to lean more towards Royal these days because we are D+ and it’s hard to sail on the other lines and not get the same perks, but there are other good choices out there.
  21. I already stated that above. You actually quoted me. I was asking about Celebrity.
  22. But only during happy hour correct? Haven’t sailed Celebrity in a while. Royal allows them anytime during the day or night.
