Chips at Park Cafe on Allure

We were told the same thing on Harmony a couple of weeks ago. -
We were in a suite last week on Harmony and visited Barefoot Beach. There was no steak. There was hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken and cold shrimp, as well as some prepackaged salads. Nothing I would pay extra for. Not sure what cabanas you are referring to. There are some right on the beach where people sit right in front of your cabana and some on the cliff. I would not pay for one of those on the beach. There’s really no privacy.

It’s definitely still there. We used it on Harmony last week. Looked like someone took it out of the wash, rolled it into a ball and put it back in the bag. Would not have been able to wear any of the items again except maybe the underwear. We ended up sending it all back and they redid it. I would advise against sending anything you really like.

Miami airport to Fort lauderdale hotel transport
RosieRoo replied to Cruisekid25's topic in Florida Departures
Just took an Uber from Miami airport to Ft Lauderdale hotel downtown last night. It was during rush hour so there was traffic and the fare was $58. They pick up right outside of baggage claim across the street. -
I have a travel agent question...
RosieRoo replied to GetToLivin's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I have AmEx, but not the Platinum one. It may have changed, but I know when my sister booked before she didn’t book thru AmEx and she was able to get the perks. Best for the OP to ask the TAs she’s thinking about using ahead of time. -
I understand that. I’m telling you I’ve booked before using one of these promos. You are charged the $1000 and the $350 is then given as a credit after you make the transaction. When I had to cancel the cruise I was reimbursed the entire $1000. That’s why I asked if this actually happened to you because that was not my experience.

This cruise has been done for the last couple of years on the Summit. Look for the roll calls from previous sailings. There’s tons of info there.

My sister has a platinum AmEx. You do not have to book thru AmEx to get the benefits. She always received them with any TA she booked thru. -
Love the Radiance class ships. They are my favorite, but I don’t usually book above a JS as the suite perks just aren’t that great. Royals suite perks are not the same across the board. On the larger ships like Oasis and Anthem you get Coastal Kitchen for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the all day suite lounge and free internet. You don’t get any of that on the Radiance class ships, but I still love them. Also, any of the drinks you consume in the suite lounge during happy hour don’t count towards your free D or D+ drinks.

I was on Summit last July for my birthday and then again in October for her repositioning to Florida. If you love Radiance class you will love the Summit.
-
If you are a regular RC cruiser, Summit is comparable with the Radiance Class. Silhouette is bigger and newer. Having said that, I love the Summit and it was just revolutionized in 2019.

The last time we did this was last spring. We kept everything on hangers and packed up all our small items. We searched out our room steward for the next sailing and told him we were moving to his section and he said he would make up that room first so it would be ready early in the am. Our room steward was super busy in the am so instead of making him move everything we just moved everything ourselves. It was super easy.

NYC-Bermuda Cruises Skipping Virginia for a few weeks
RosieRoo replied to OttawaJohn's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
We were on the Joy in November. They were skipping this stop then. No prior notice. We were just told on the ship we wouldn’t be stopping there, no explanation. -
GS on Serenade ~ noise from above?
RosieRoo replied to mafig's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Those are my favorite ships, unfortunately all the suites are located under some passenger area. The worst noise I ever had was under the tiled area of the Windjammer. We were kept awake by trolleys being pushed across those tiles at 3am. I think under the pool would be preferable to that. I usually try to get one of the aft JS cabins. They are under the outdoor eating area, but I’ve never been bothered by noise there. That being said, I have a booking coming up in a midship OS. -
NCL no longer giving OBC for price drop?
RosieRoo replied to Vacationlover2's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Price of December cruise dropped around $500. Received FCC for total amount, but could not apply it to anything until after the cruise was completed. Expires in one year. -
Booking Next Cruise Onboard Ship -- Benefits??
RosieRoo replied to Italy52's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I believe you are correct. -
Just agonized over this exact same thing for my 9 day sailing. To upgrade at home it was around $169. for one person, but I wanted to use OBC so I waited til I got onboard. You could only upgrade on day 1 or 2 and the cost was not a flat fee. It was $29.99 per day for the regular internet or $39.99 per day for the higher speed. If I upgraded day 1 the cost would have been about the same as at home. I waited til the second day which brought the cost down by $29.99. I think the discount for the 150 minutes was $100. Hope that helps.

Opinion of Family Suite w/balcony vs. Foreward Facing Balcony ?
RosieRoo replied to mafig's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
We upgraded to a forward facing suite once on the Pearl. Two things we didn’t like. One, the theater was two decks down and we heard them practicing during the day and during shows. It was pretty loud. Not sure if that’s an issue on the Dawn. Second, it was pretty rough when the seas were churned up. I wouldn’t pick that location again. We also did the suite without the balcony once. I really missed the balcony. We have done two bedrooms several times. That would be my first choice of those three on the Dawn. -
I wasn’t referring to arrivals. I was referring to departures. Many people have missed their early flights home because the ship couldn’t enter the channel due to fog.
