  1. Taking in consideration of the $5000 increase to move from Aqua to any suite class, would be that for $173 per person you can purchase a 5 night specialty dining package. This $300 plus dollars is a far cry from $5000. Since you have a beverage package already, all bars are readily available. The main difference is the basic square footage of the room. We've done a Celebrity Suite and verandas and insides even. We look at all these little factors and decide what we need and what we don't. Itinerary and who is sailing with us factors in also.
  2. Is there an email to corporate where we can voice our concerns/opinions? I also cruise Celebrity due to the no smoking policy.
  3. Thanks everyone for the responses. To be clear, our booking states My Time dining on the reservation. When I use website to book a reservation time, it states Sold Out. Question is: do I still have ability to eat at My Time and just don't have a time to eat? Do I just show up in the No Reservation Line? Have they changed me to a Set Time Dining? I will probably show up when boarded ship and ask hostess in dining room where/when to go!
  4. I'm on the Allure in a couple of weeks and realized I had not scheduled dining times. When I went to the website, it says My time dining is sold out. Do not call but check here (website) for availability. Never heard of this before! Anyone have an answer? My time is free so why sold out?
  5. Driver indicated during peak hours they just run circles from hotel to airport and back but we arrived about 8 and called the hotel. I'd just call hotel when you have your luggage no matter what time it is. Once you collect your luggage you simply walk out of airport and down about 1/2 a block to designated pick up area. You can't miss it; lots of hotel vans loading and unloading.
  6. We stayed at the one in Dania. ( SW 18th, I think). We flew in and they picked us up at airport within 10 minutes. We walked to a great Italian restaurant the next day and ate fantastic pizza. (Called Cucina's). Literally right out the door from the hotel. Planning on staying there again this fall just for the pizza next door!!
  7. They keep some days open just for those booking onboard. Guest relations can give you more info. With a large group, they may even open up a special time slot for ya'll.......
  8. What ship are you on? Harmony (and others) have an escape room which might be a fun time for everyone as it requires group input. Or how about everyone going ice skating during open skate? Ask the maitre D for a single serving piece of cake with candle that has Congrats on it instead of Happy Birthday/Anniversary.
  9. I have wondered the same thing.....Where is the Fury??!! About all I could gather was they are not available on days Allure is in port. Maybe they service other cruise lines that day? We have been on them many times so was confused when couldn't book this excursion. Looking forward to your contacting them and getting an answer!
  10. Yes to both questions! We were on the Equinox last year and it was our first time to sail over Halloween. The ship was decorated overnight on Oct 30th and decor removed by Nov. 1st. I wish we would have known so we could have participated more but we loved seeing everyone in their costumes. And believe me, some people went all out!!
  11. Thank you so much for the replies. We are going with Deck 1 as supposed to be showers only! Appreciate the info and looking forward to sailing our first with HAL next summer!
  12. Another vote for Deck 8 for all the listed reasons!! It's beautiful to walk back to your room in the evening strolling through Central Park.
  13. Anyone know if the oceanview cabins on Deck 1 have a shower or a shower/tub combo? I have trouble with my knees and am thinking of what type of cabin to book if the ones on deck 1 are the combo type. Would love any info someone has to give! Thanks in advance........ I'm open to hear anyone's experience with these rooms.
  14. I worked hard to enforce etiquette on my 3 young children. They are now adults and can appear in any social situation. Those rules or lack of them define you. Social media has created a generation of people who lack basic respect and promote destructive behavior wherever they are. Luckily for the world, there are still people who take parenting seriously! Those youth will rise to the top some day! I have been cruising Celebrity since the 90's and have seen very few wayward young people on this cruise line......no matter the ship!
  15. We had wonderful service on the Equinox last October. We had pre-paid but handed out cash to many employees due to their friendly and efficient service! In times like this, we appreciate anyone willing to work and work hard!!
  16. Happy to see your review since DH and I had to cancel this very trip. Would have been fun to sail with you but after DH has his cancer treatments, we will plan another cruise!! Lord willing......
  17. I thought the macarons were overrated in Luminae on chic night. I'd personally suggest another gift. YMMV......
  18. Don't know what you ordered but I got the blanket for my granddaughter while we were all in Alaska. It was a better quality than I was expecting. We were all pleased and she used it on the balcony as it was cold weather still.
  19. Thanks everyone for their input. We are excited for our cruise!!
  20. The reviews are all over the map on this ship. Can a recent cruiser please let me know the condition of the ship ? How is the food? Cutbacks are so obvious on other lines so we were wondering how HAL has been affected. We've cruised for many years on Princess, Celebrity and Royal Caribbean. Looking to try something different and the Volendam has a great itinerary to Canada/NE. Please, anyone! Give us some insight!!
  21. We are really excited about the Canada/NE itinerary that the Volendam is doing in 2024. We are new to HAL and are concerned about cruising on Volendam however. Can anyone give us some insight and realistic expectations about the condition of the ship, activities and the quality of food? Would love all information you have to share as the reviews are all over the place!!
  22. We eat in the buffet at dinner maybe 1 or 2 nights for supper but 7 nights for dessert and coffee/tea! After a show or casino time, we drop by there for a late night snack or dessert before heading back to cabin for night..... We always loved all the different stations with all the options. Celebrity just might not be our first choice anymore......
