Some passengers mistakenly believe that there is salt in the ship’s tap water which causes their ankles to swell, and try to avoid that by bringing their own bottled water aboard, especially if they don’t have a beverage package. in truth, this is a mistaken belief. The ships tap water does not contain salt. However, some of the food is heavily salted. For those who do not add salt to their food at home, they may find that the addition of the salt in the food they consume on board can cause ankle swelling, in combination with some possible mild dehydration. The solution is to drink more water. Tap or bottled, it won’t matter.

  3. I see. But over the years I have seen a lot of posters, who have said that Celebrity has a limitation on bringing water on board but I’ve never been able to find anything official on that. Bringing soft drinks on the board is equally murky.
  4. What kind of reservations, specialty dining? Or something else? is it possible that the message “no reservations available” is equivalent to “no reservations can be booked yet” rather than “everything is fully booked”?

  6. As mum said when she saw this, if you don’t like signing for purchases, drink only the free beverages. Well anyway, you won’t sign anything if your drink is included in your package.
  7. That happened on one cruise on one ship. Plastic bottles have not been reported otherwise.
  8. We all wish that the cruise line would do some things differently….but this particular thing is easily sorted out on board. Go ahead and put the other people together in select and you will easily be able to adjust the table size so that you can join them once you are on board and can speak to the dining room staff in person on boarding day.

If you are trying to book your nightly meal, I assume that the people booked in the suite know that they will be foregoing their Luminae dining? if you are trying to book specialty dining, on the other hand, just book each room separately but for the same time, and sort it out to join all the specialty restaurants reservations together once on board.

  11. We have probably all seen one or two blatant scofflaws over the years but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t a dress code which is followed by the vast majority of passengers.

  13. Expect to be turned away if either of you try to enter the MDR in shorts. There may be some leniency on the first night because some people have not received their luggage yet but after that, the dress code is the dress code.
  14. You don’t get PowerUp points for sailing, You get Captains Club points. Be sure to ask for the right thing when you call.
  15. You do not forfeit any points if you book through a travel agent. if you ARE a travel agent and you book using the special rates offered to the travel industry, deeply discounted rates not available to the general public, then there is no commission paid and no points awarded.

  17. I haven’t been able to download a brochure for quite a while now. I think that feature is no longer available.

  19. I did a quick search of Cruise Critic and came up with these dailies from a different Celebrity ship, but it will give you something to start with. It won’t be that much different from the equinox.
  20. you will get a similar letter in your stateroom for your Elite benefits if you booked a GTY inside and there are no insides available you might see an upgrade but also with the MoveUp someone else with an inside might pay to move to an upgrade, freeing up their cabin for you
