Seeing as this old thread has been bumped, I'm going to hijack it to ask my own question about the Concierge class welcome lunch.  It's a hypothetical at the moment, as I'm waiting to hear if I've won my move up bid.

On my cruise, a welcome lunch won't be possible as boarding starts at 2.30pm for an 8pm sailing.  Would Celebrity offer an alternative perk for Concierge class?

No.  There is no alternative perk.

  2. Thank you for solving the mystery of equinox.

Today I learned the answer to another mystery.  I was at the future cruise office at 10 AM the day the cruise opened for booking and was told there were no available accessible rooms for me except Aqua class.  Not my favorite, but I booked it.

I have since learned that there are accessible rooms available, but just not for single occupancy🤪🤪😩🤪😩

  3. The issue on this ship, which also occurred earlier this summer on silhouette, is that Parkwest has reserved the sky lounge for their exclusive use on sea days.  They have invited some big spenders to these private auctions.   These are not the same as the public auctions you see everyday on the ship.  We are sailing through scenic waters and we are not allowed into the sky.Lounge.

The result on silhouette was that I gave the three Cruises the worst ratings I have ever given on any cruise survey. And I will be doing the same here on Eclipse..

We know some some peope who just returned from their Sept. 29 Celebrity Beyond Cruise yesterday - with Norovirus, unfortunately. Just wondering if this has been a flareup among a number of ships recently or just one of the unlucky sailings?

I realize Norovirus hapoens everywbere, all the time. Yet I also recall a few heavy outbreaks among ships several years ago. Hope it's not the case currently!

No way to know where they picked it up—in the terminal, the flight home, the gas station, the parking garage…..

I’m interested in hearing what others thought of this sailing.  It was my least favorite Azamara cruise.  Quality seems to have slipped.  Itinerary was great though.

What Azamara cruise? This is the Celebrity board

It appears that the Longshoremen have agreed on money terms  but not to the automation of the ports and that issue has been tabled until January 15,25. If that does not get addressed then I assume most winter cruises are gonna in play?  Also ,another Hurricane is heading into Fla and I’m guessing all ports will be closed for at least 2 days and more if damaged . Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

There are four ports in Florida.  They won’t all be affected.

Heard she's going to be in drydock Nov 2024 but Google didn't find anything under Silhouette drydock 2024.

From her schedule, she's in Spain on Oct 31 but her next cruise is 11/16.

If drydock, anyone know how extensive?

    ie: New beds?

I'm on her in April 2025.

New beds are not part of this upcoming dry dock. They will be replacing some of the cloudy windows in sky, lounge and elsewhere and replacing tiles on decks four and five.  This from the Hotel Director last month.

If you get the chance, can you see if there are any free art activities like sketching or painting onboard? There were sketch classes on my last cruise and I've seen rooms with easels in photos online, but I cannot figure out which ships that set up.

Also, how accessible have events been?  Are you having to show 30 minutes before to get seating?

The only events where crowds have been a problem were the trivia’s which have had to be relocated from Sky Lounge to passport bar due to Park West taking over Skyland. Once they are not doing that anymore, there should be no problem Getting a seat for trivia.

I will look for sketching and drying events, but I think so far I have only seen adult coloring, which is kind of, shall we say, childish
