The Key--Benefits have changed
cruisegirl1 replied to rockmom's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I never get the key, but I decided to check for some upcoming sailings. This is for the wonder in January and February 2024. OUCH. $49.99 a day and every person over 6 in the cabin must purchase. Internet package for the same cruises is is $20.99 per day. -
Diamond Plus=what Celebrity benefits?
cruisegirl1 replied to zanydoc's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Diamond, Diamond Plus and Pinnacle all get basic Elite benefits on Celebrity. Not a true reciprocal, in that Elite is the highest benefit one can get simply from RCCL status. Benefits are nice but different from RCCL's list. It is generous that a RCCL D and up member can get Elite benefits as a first time Celebrity cruiser. You can check out the benefits Captain's Club Benefits & Membership | Celebrity Cruises Captain-Clubs-Benefits-Brochure-V8.pdf (celebritycruises.com) You must contact Celebrity to get a club number prior to sailing. Transfer Day of Side-by-Side Cruises
cruisegirl1 replied to Jthans24's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Had that recently on Mariner on Port Canaveral. Departed from T1 returned to T5 ( or was it 6?) We dropped our luggage at T1, drove to T5 to park and they shuttled us to T1. Upon return to Port Canaveral, we docked at T5 and our car was right there. We weren't sure what to do but a few days prior to the cruise we received clear instructions from RCCL regarding luggage drop, parking and shuttle. M -
Transfer Day of Side-by-Side Cruises
cruisegirl1 replied to Jthans24's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Thinking back (well actually looking at spreadsheet) to Dec 28, 2014 and Jan 4, 2015 we did a side to side with no day in-between cruises in Port Canaveral. I recall we used off site parking for these cruises. We shuttled back to the parking lot after the first cruise (Stayed on till most had departed), exchanged some clothes out of the suitcase and then shuttled to the new terminal. Worked out fine. M -
Cooler/Refrigerators in INSIDE cabins of GRANDEUR
cruisegirl1 replied to cruisegirl1's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Thanks for the warning. I know it is painfully small, and a type of cabin we rarely if ever book. An opportunity came along, and it was the inside cabin, or no cruise at all. I know some say no cruise at all, but it will be fine. The cabin location is good. We have quite a few cruises coming up with lovely accommodations. The cruise will be fun, we like most of the ports. I have a high school friend who lives in Roatan and she always provides us with the royal treatment when we visit. m -
Cooler/Refrigerators in INSIDE cabins of GRANDEUR
cruisegirl1 replied to cruisegirl1's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Thanks for the info - don't need a medical fridge. Just want to keep a few beverages cold. Not sure I want to take up closet space. We'll be fine with the little cooler bag; it is only a week. M -
Cooler/Refrigerators in INSIDE cabins of GRANDEUR

Thanks Biker. I may bring a small ( six pack size) collapsible cooler to keep beverages cold. M -
Transfer Day of Side-by-Side Cruises
cruisegirl1 replied to Jthans24's topic in Royal Caribbean International
So two different ships, not even on the same day? Didn't realize that - thanks We actually did that in Port Canaveral. Got off one ship, went to a hotel in Cocoa beach for one-night (Could not check in that early but the hotel let us use the pool and facilities) and then got on anther ship the next day. M -
I'm told that INSIDE cabins on GRANDEUR do NOT have a chiller/cooler/refrigerator (whatever you want to call it.) We've been on Grandeur several times, but never in an inside cabin. I thought all cabins on all ships had chillers, but I was recently told otherwise. Can someone who has knowledge of inside cabins on GRANDEUR respond? Thanks M

The Key--Benefits have changed
cruisegirl1 replied to rockmom's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Someone recently posted a menu that had 3 platters (Burger, 6 oz. filet and I can't recall the third) with platted sides. No more individual side selections. I'll never be able to find the post but if by some miracle I do, I'll post it here. M -
Transfer Day of Side-by-Side Cruises
cruisegirl1 replied to Jthans24's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Very different. Your side-by-side cruise will be to separate cruises, not connected in any way. You will need to pack up and leave the first ship just like all other passengers. You may need to arrange transportation to the new terminal and wait in line for check in and boarding jut like all other passengers. At times Royal will help you transport from one terminal to another. Not sure how that is handled in Galveston. M -
1st B2B with questions
cruisegirl1 replied to createcolorfun's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Definitely First cruise. See the Loyalty Ambassador the first or second day of the first cruise and make sure he/she knows you are B2B and reaching a new category the first leg. (Of course, benefits will be awarded on the second leg.) If you can't connect with the Loyalty Ambassador, speak to the concierge. The LA is the person who can best assist you. Your second leg sea pass card will likely have the old category, but the LA or concierge can print a new card on the second leg. Congrats. M -
1st B2B with questions
cruisegirl1 replied to createcolorfun's topic in Royal Caribbean International
The person will receive the benefits the second leg of the B2B after reaching D+ on the first leg. The LA can make the happen. There is no reason not to receive the extra benefits over D. However, the only benefit that can't be given in the OP's instance is the additional balcony discount for D+. That will happen on future cruises. -
FYI - on many sailings, Pinnaces are not allowed in the suite lounge. It depends on the number of Ps. Varies by class of ship. Not sure of the thresholds except that on recent Mariner B2B cruises (May 2023), Ps were allowed in the lounge one cruise but not the other. Drinks ordered were charged to the daily drinks unless one was staying is a suite. M

Please tell me about Coco Cay.
cruisegirl1 replied to CruisinCadie's topic in Royal Caribbean International
All of the sets of 2 or 4 chairs have an umbrella. The hot air balloon is tethered so it just goes up. It doesn’t really go anywhere. Taking the tram around the island provides a nice overview. There are several complimentary food options. M -
Thanks for reminding me about the aft cabins, especially those on lower balcony decks. We had 6690 last year and there was an area of large closed deck space outside of the balcony. It was private - no one could walk there. I don't think the upper deck balconies had as much of an issue. We picked the cabin and even with the large balcony and aft view, might not select it again. Shareholder OBC automatically applied

How could someone in the booking department possibly know if a passenger currently owns stock, and is eligible for the onboard credit. Sounds weird. m -
Diamond drink coupon question
cruisegirl1 replied to oasisorbust's topic in Royal Caribbean International
There are no coupons on the last morning. They cut off at 5 AM. Some have reported they they asked and have received a free cup (voucher) of specialty coffee from the coffee shop. This is because some staff are simply afraid to enforce the rules, and will break them for fear of getting a bad review. m -
Diamond drink coupon question
cruisegirl1 replied to oasisorbust's topic in Royal Caribbean International
You won't have coupons the morning of the B2B as the coupons are stopped at 5AM that morning. You will have a new set of daily drinks immediately after you board again. However, if you have a super efficient B2B process, the bars might not be opened yet. enjoy the B2B M
