  1. Nabalab - I hope you get to try the balloon one day. This is June 2019, I’m not even sure the Beach Club was completed at this point. Balloon was new and would you believe it – it was $24.99 and ( back then) we thought that was high for a 15 minute activity ! Weather (wind) in the area allowed us to only go halfway up, but it was still lots of fun.
  2. Weve been to Coco Cay countless times, and never tired it if. We still get off the ship, enjoy a nice beach day (we don't live in Florida or near a beach), snorkel, enjoy a bite to eat, and take a nice walk around. Never tire of it. If I tired of Bahamas/Caribbean ports we've visited often, there would be not point to cruising. M
  3. This is a joke, right? Once a day cleaning, unless you are in a junior suite or above. You can make your feedback heard but it will not change the cleaning from once a day for your balcony cabin. Please come back and let us know how your strategy worked. m
  4. I like the towel bands and use them for every cruise and also on land beach vacations. They take up NO room in luggage, help identify the chairs, keep the towel in place, fit on most every type of lounge chair and don't snap off. M
  5. Complimentary hot chocolate packets available on every ship in the windjammer, coffee areas, dining room. M
  6. On Oasis class one can reserve a neighborhood guarantee (central park or boardwalk) or an ocean balcony guarantee. Important to understand the difference when booking GTY. OP - no interior balconies on Mariner. We had a recent Mariner GTY and were assigned a great mid ship balcony on deck 6. m
  7. We've had several cruises since the once/day service was initiated. It has been fine. It never occurred to me to change (decrease) the daily gratuity. Why would I? The gratuity is for a cabin attendant servicing the cabin and the cabin is cleaned daily. As for getting to know the attendant (noted in the first post), that is not necessary for me. I am courteous to the attendant, keep a tidy cabin, he/she does their job. We aren't there to become friends. When I see him/her in the hallway I greet them, thank them and wish them a good day. It is none of my business what RCCL determines to be the appropriate workload. I've never asked a hotel room attendant how many rooms they service and how often they service them. M
  8. Nope - at least not for us. We asked when we made the reservation on the first day and the staff said there is a large and varied children's menu. Our fault for not checking it out. Live and learn M
  9. LOTS of soot in March. Is the soot issue able to be fixed? M
  10. On a recent Harmony cruise (before the new menu and restrictions came into place) we could ONLY have what was on the Child or Adult menu at Chops. Our mistake, for not looking prior to the dinner. We assumed we could get a few items off the MDR child's menu at specialty. No. You may need to bring a small platter from WJ with you. Chicken fingers/nuggets, fries and jello are available at WJ. Bacon, generally not at night and carrot cake on a limited basis. M
  11. Years ago we took the third of a three segment repositioning cruise. Each leg was 15 days so by the time we came on board, most passengers had been together for 30 days. We were told that only 30% of the passengers came off/on at our boarding. We noticed lots of cliques and also passengers avoiding others. We felt like an outsider most of the time. Even the CD referenced happenings from the previous legs when making his comments. m
  12. We booked one for free. It was that or nothing. We added it to an existing cruise for a B2B. Second cruise was in a suite. It was our first time in years in an inside cabin. We enjoyed both cruises. We cruise often (about every month) so the cabin for one cruise was no issue. If I only cruised once a year, I would prefer a balcony or suite. m
  13. Have 5 night coming up this month and was surprised that there is no Bon Voyage menu. Welcome Aboard. A taste of France A taste of Mexico A taste of the Caribbean A taste if Italy. I was surprised that they didn't delete one and have the Bon Voyage menu. M
  14. Sounds like Cocoa Beach area, right? Can you consider getting a day rate at an area hotel? You can spend the day at the beach. M
  15. To answer the question - NO, I would be surprised to see true formal night return. Sometimes we see "Formal" and other "Dress your best". In fact, it was listed as one way in the App and another in the compass for the same night. M
  16. I definitely recall seeing the flyer post covid ( more like a half sheet of paper with an order form section. And definitely NOT any sort of suite offering. It was available to anyone who wanted to purchase a few cans of soft drinks. I recall mentioning the concept to my spouse. We remarked that it was something new. I don't recall seeing it in the past 6 months or longer. M
  17. A few weeks ago, live jazz music was offered in Central Park. M
  18. Shrimp and shrimp salad. I don't believe those items are on the standard buffet. There is a watermelon/Feta salad (Not sure of that is on the standard buffet,) and grilled veggies. Food trays are small and replenished often with fresh hot food. And as you mentioned, a nice and not crowded eating area. M
  19. As long as I show two prime cards, I can get two prime drinks. Water is often provided (if requested) with any drink. M
  20. Not in my experience and since the new menus. I have all gravy/sauces left off my dishes with NO issue with or without any dietary restrictions. M
  21. I recall it was a flyer left in the cabin on boarding day. Can't recall the ship. Not a suite perk and the beverages were not complementary. M
  22. I recall seeing that a few cruises ago. There was a paper advertisement in the cabin. The prices were about the same as standard on board prices per can, but you have the convenience of having the soft drink in the cabin when you want it. M
