  1. I’ve cruised with a DL and birth certificate and was never asked for a marriage license. The only time I recall needing a bridging document was the last time I renewed my drivers license (I don’t recall ever needing it in the past to renew my license).
  2. So sorry to offend, I shouldn’t have mentioned to the OP that your advice was not good in this particular situation.
  3. Some folks might not own their own web design business, some might have employers who require access. My husband has been working for the same financial services company for over 30 years, he gets unlimited vacation days but for some issues he is needed, even on vacation.
  4. No refunds through the cruise line for death, but travel insurance should pay.
  5. Most of our schools now have a/c, but up until it was very hot the end of June and beginning of September. As a kid I’d remember teachers turning off the lights and putting on fans. And we weren’t allowed to wear shorts.
  6. Most states require 180 days but there is no such requirement in Nebraska. Here students get out the end of June and go back Labor Day week. It looks like Nebraska added weeks on to make it more like other states.
  7. The OP is asking for someone else, the cruise is in 2 weeks, a passport application will need the birth certificate.
  8. Just put you and a child in one cabin, spouse and child in the other, get the drink package for your cabin.
  9. But it doesn’t sound like he’s in a bed at home. I raised 5 kids, my first 3 stayed in cribs until 4, never climbed, the next 2 (twins) climbed at 2, so they were switched to twin beds. Life was so much easier with toddlers in cribs.
  10. The only cruise ships that sail out of the US with splash areas for diapered kids are DCL and a handful of RCCL ships, that’s it.
  11. You pay the gratuities on the drink and fining package. If you order a drink a drink more than $15 you pay the extra amount. I think you get one free dinner, you will want yo make reservations.
  12. A lot of excursions have age limits, it’s legal.
  13. You could’ve picked them up and you wouldn’t be charged the corkage fee if you had the FAS. If you didn’t have the FAS you would’ve been charged $15 each.
  14. lol I think I was on that Gem cruise.
  15. Many restaurants where I live put down a bread basket.
  16. Junkanoo isn’t an excursion, just a local beach that’s easy to walk to. I don’t think I could do a 10 train from Niagara. I suggesting flying to nyc and spending a couple of nights before the cruise (you can probably get better hotel rates).
  17. Newark isn’t any better (although they just redid terminal A and it has good reviews).
  18. Probably not getting that deposit back due to your location. I believe all mainstream lines charge a daily gratuity. Getting charged $21 a day for the beverage package still makes it one of the cheapest beverage packages, drinks average around $13 each.
  19. And right now it’s an hour and 7 minutes. It’s important to keep timing in the decision, getting into manhattan from NJ is a bridge of tunnel. Many people in my area work in NYC, it’s a least an hour commute, port authority is 12 miles away. NYC traffic is my local traffic. Ride share will be more from NJ.
  20. Haven suites are way more expensive than 2 balcony cabins. The gratuity on the UBP is $21 pp pd. If you drink more than one alcoholic drink a day, you are on the financial winning end. I personally love the Gem, spinnakers lounge and the great outdoors are my favorite spots.
  21. We cruised fleet week, it was going on during our departure, we were instructed to park at 90 next door, forgot that for a minute when we docked but eventually found our car.
  22. I guess they can’t, which is why there are thousands of displaced US citizens separated from their families, due to not having passports.
  23. I’ve paid corkage on wine at the manhattan cruise terminal on every ncl I’ve been on.
