  1. You probably should’ve called the insurance company and added insurance, the cost is based on the cost of the trip, so when your price went up, you needed to add more insurance.
  2. Keep in mind the package costs around $2000 if you want to go that route.
  3. Nope, we’ve sailed out of nyc since our first cruise 18 years ago. You will drive up the ramp, dog sniffs, park, take your luggage on the elevator down, drop off with porters, go inside. If you drive up to the porters first, you will need to go around the block and then drive to the 2nd level (this will most likely take a half hour). If you are being dropped off and don’t need parking, you don’t go up the ramp.
  4. ADHD meds are a pain, my son can only get a 30 day supply, it can’t be mailed, and he needs to see his physician every 3 months to get his prescription. That was fun when he was away at college.
  5. I really don’t think that’s how discussion boards work…
  6. My husband knows that to me, vow renewals mean trouble in paradise. He’d never surprise me with one.
  7. I always brought take and toss cups for my kids on vacation when they were little.
  8. It’s mostly dead unless there is a latitude reception, it’s the perfect spot during the day. I believe tbd bar is open and at least in the later afternoon servers walking around. Very comfy chairs, beautiful views.
  9. But not all “kids” will be bored. On the ship, one is considered a “kid” until 21. On land, if you are not 21, you can’t sit at the bar, and some establishments don’t allow entry for under 21. On cruise ships, those under 21 can still be with their parents at bars, on our last cruise my kids ranged from 14 - 20 and really liked meeting up in a lounge before dinner for happy hour, even though they weren’t drinking alcohol.
  10. I have a card and book, seemed like a no brained fir me to spend and extra $30 or so on the card since it’s valid for 10 years, and I’m not planning on getting real ID anytime soon and I can use it to fly domestically. However I wouldn’t bother with a card for one cruise, I’d just use my license and birth certificate.
  11. I’ve never been on the Pearl, but in the Jewel and Gem my favorite indoor are was spinnakers lounge during the day, and the great outdoors fir a quiet outdoor area.
  12. In this case it’s after final payment, will lose more than the deposit.
  13. We live 12 miles west of manhattan, when we drive to the port, gps usually takes us through the tunnel, but sometimes the GWB to the west side highway.
  14. My kids didn’t like the clubs really either (especially the tween club) but would go just to meet people. On our last cruise they were 14, 14, 16, 19 and 20, the 3 youngest all found different groups (strange because they’re so close at home and share friend groups), and the 2 oldest made it their mission to me others and form a group. I think it’s like an activity for them.
  15. I’ve had many teens on cruises, their absolutely favorite part was going to the teen club the first night, finding friends, and then hanging out with them. Breakfast and dinner as a family, free to go in between, off ship with the family and usually shows, then we go back to the cabin and they get back by curfew. They’d keep in touch after the cruise.
  16. The majority of my family consists of young adults who prefer the least expensive option if possible. My dad used to travel a lot internationally, and I’d pick him up from Newark airport often, always at the end of the departure area, so much easier.
  17. There are none in nyc, that one is one I’ve heard of here, there aren’t many, there is a chance that is it.
  18. We’ve done it on every cruise we’ve been on (different reason) and it’s super dimple and not the least annoying.
  19. If they have one I’m guessing you will be charged for it even with the FAS.
  20. How many in your group? My sister once managed to get full sized luggage and her 3 kids into an Uberx. We get an Uber xl only if we are more than 4 people, my adult kids once managed an uberxl with 7 people with backpacks from the airport. This is in the nyc metro area.
