  1. I would have no problem disputing it with my credit car, I’m not paying a delayed bill for “guest services” without a detailed report.
  2. That’s exactly what we do when cruising with our kids.
  3. The soda package isn’t part of FAS, if you want mock tails and soda you will need the package that includes alcohol with gratuities of $21 a day.
  4. Not always, I’ve seen NCL club suites only slightly high than balconies, some perks come with it that makes it worth it to some people. Huge price difference than the haven suites.
  5. So now if you pay $200 for an aqua adventure pass you need to pay extra for the aquarium?
  6. It’s usually better to get 3rd party insurance rather than through the cruise line.
  7. NCL has club balcony suites that used to be called minisuites, they have bigger bathrooms.
  8. There have been hit and runs in my town with pedestrians who’ve been severely injured and even killed, it might not have been because they were riding scooters. Even if they had insurance it most likely wouldn’t have paid the hospital bill, but paid up later to reimburse the couple.
  9. My 25 year old son (6’1, 220) spent half of his summer sleeping on a pull out couch at the beach, his share of a 3 bedroom 1 bathroom rental with 12 of his best friends. No complaints, to be young again…
  10. Even with insurance the bill would have to be paid and then they’d get reimbursed by the insurance company.
  11. I don’t think she needs an appointment, just fill out the form online and mail it in.
  12. I think that would fall under CFAR which I don’t think is available in NY. If the ship sails insurance won’t kick in. Maybe you’d get some $ back if you sailed but some ports were missed, based on coverage.
  13. I think this is the norm during hurricane season, the vast majority sail, sometimes port are eliminated more changed, dates added or removed, but the ship sails. As you know with hurricanes, they can change (that cone of uncertainty), so decisions are made last minute (maybe pearl will end up in Bermuda?)
  14. Before having a passport, I used my license and birth certificate, I was not asked for a bridging document. However, the last time I renewed my NJ drivers license, they wouldn’t accept my birth certificate since I didn’t have my marriage license (I don’t remember this being an issue in the past). Fortunately I brought multiple documents knowing what a PITA NJ DMV is. ETA I’d bring my drivers license, birth certificate and marriage licenses just in case. Many married women don’t cruise with passports, I’ve never heard of someone being denied boarding because their license and birth certificate had different last names.
  15. We did it once, the next time we cruised to the Bahamas it was actually cheaper through NCL. Keep in mind taxes and fees, they are substantial.
  16. It’s extremely rare for a cruise to be canceled for weather, it will probably leave Boston on Saturday. It’s hurricane season, they’ll go around weather if possible, looks like sunny skies Saturday afternoon.
  17. I don’t think they care if some folks cancel, they don’t have to refund the fare.
  18. Super easy, they are lined up and actively soliciting for passengers. If you get a shared van it’s like $5 pp.
  19. Our family has sailed on 3 NCL ships, kids were 7, 7, 9, 12 and 14 on our first one. They had a great time, even on smaller ships without the bells and whistles. Their first cruise was DCL (ours was NCL without them) and I disliked fixed dining, too difficult with 7 people and 2 showers. NCL is the only line with real anytime dining, no reservations are needed in the MDR’s, we’d just show up. We haven’t sailed RCL yet (even though I can drive to a port in 20 minutes, same with NCL), but I’d like to.
  20. I believe all balconies have room for 3 or 4 to sleep.
  21. I thought the first person on the reservation couldn’t be changed?
  22. I can’t imagine taking the train to NYC and back to avoid Newark penn station, my kids have been taking the train from there since they were 16. They’re all in their 20’s but take the train late at night often. It’s fine.
  23. Not all RCL shops have splash areas for diapered kids, just some ships.
