  1. It’s mainly for the medical part, sure it would stink to lose $2200, but it’s was a sunk cost. It appears that most of the medical policies also come with insuring the trip cost. I was thinking $100,000 and evacuation?
  2. If the passenger was a no show, you wouldn’t have to switch cabins, but would the others reimburse the person the amount of money (if any) lost at this point, and make final payment on this persons behalf?
  3. The stand alone is the FAS, it’s $21 a day, that’s all I need.
  4. Plus, both parents need to be at the passport appointment, it’s not always easy with work schedules.
  5. Thank you, with age I meant getting travel insurance for a 23 year old appears cheaper than if I got it for myself (which I always do, heck myself and my 16 year old son had appendicitis in the same year, no one is immune). She’s an authorized user on one of our cards with about a $60,000 limit, plus we have access to quick cash. I’ll definitely look for evacuation insurance, it’s the unlikely very expensive costs I’m looking to have covered, getting $2200 back would just be a nice bonus. She has no known preexisting condition, very healthy and git. Ad this is a budget trip, I doubt extreme sports, but that’s good to know.
  6. I haven’t heard much about the wine package in years. If you have the FAS, you can also bring on unlimited wine for free, otherwise it’s $15 a bottle.
  7. My daughter is 23 and flying to Italy from the US next month for 10 days with friends. Flights and Airbnb costs are around $2200. Mostly I’m concerned about health insurance. I looked on insure my trip, and it looks like she can get about $100,000 in medical coverage plus trip reimbursement for under $100. Since this trip is pieced together, with flights booked first, would the day she booked her flights be the date of first deposit? Is $100,000 enough? We are currently dealing with 2 car accidents last week by 2 family members in the range of $20,000 (and we are choosing to pay oop for at least $8000 so we aren’t dropped), so don’t want any surprises. I figure it’s a no brained due to her age to get the travel insurance (my kids have traveled many times out of the country and never got insurance but right now I’m risk adverse). Any suggestions?
  8. They did have it but discontinued years ago.
  9. We live in NJ, haven’t heard about a shuttle, we drive or Uber to the MCT (both cost around the same). ETA you pay for that part of the app and you can message on the ship.
  10. What cruise line doesn’t provide OJ for breakfast? I’ve only seen fees fir fresh squeezed.
  11. My daughter tried to use it in Italy, it was a no go. ETA it was Spain.
  12. For next month? I’m guessing it’s long gone.
  13. I think I’ve read only a couple of reports here of having issues because of not having a passport, but no complaining or crying. I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s rare, and if/when it happens, folks just get it straightened out. I don’t remember getting passports for our first cruise, 3 nights out of Florida to the Bahamas, saved about $1000.
  14. NCL doesn’t reschedule flights, the airlines do.
  15. Of course sometimes they have to leave, but if you take a ship tour, they will get you to the next port, pay for lodging and food if necessary.
  16. This is what we do on all ships, we never sit on the pool deck, just go up.
  17. It’s easy to Waze, it usually sends us through the tunnel, but once the GWB due to traffic. If you don’t like city driving, GWB is a bit easier with the west side highway.
  18. You really don’t need to reserve in the MDR’s, just specialty. It’s just like eating on land, ask for a table for your party. You will have different servers, and the vast majority don’t share tables with strangers.
  19. You can walk to Junkanoo, there is food/drink/chairs to rent and restrooms. Not many accessible beaches, cabbage has no food or restrooms, and it can be rough. Margaritaville pass maybe?
  20. I know we used cash for taxis but I’m sure stores and restaurants accept credit cards. We did a day pass at Atlantis and it was credit card only for good and drink. Definitely do some research, it can be sketchy in some areas.
  21. We’ve done the NY/Orlando/bahamas, only charged taxes in NYC.
  22. Keep in mind NCL has a beer/wine waiver for 18+, my oldest were 19 and 20 on our last cruise and they appreciated that, plus they held young adult meet ups some nights.
