  1. I have 5 kids in their 20’s here in NJ, they can use the older one but it can be a pain getting into strict bars. My daughter was turned away last weekend (23) because hers is a duplicate and they require another form of a photo aid in that case. I recommend bringing a passport card just in case until they get the “adult” version. ETA, talking about the older brother thing, my youngest daughter got a dupe from my oldest daughter (and when she turned 21 she got a duo for her cousin (which was taken away from her 2 weeks ago 2 days before she turned 21, so fine), my youngest son got a dupe from my oldest son. Middle child looks like no one.
  2. I don’t know if they need to register the first day, but that’s when groups are formed. I think most use the teen club as a way to find their friends for the week vs. going to planned activities.
  3. At least on NCL, specialty dining is the same price for kids and adults, just like restaurants on land, they are plating the same meals regardless.
  4. They never say they won’t leave you behind (because it’s not always possible), but that they will give you accommodations if needed and get you to the next poor on their dime.
  5. I’ve heard the first thing you do is call your insurance.
  6. I realize that, but you can also have a virus that doesn’t cause a fever, those folks shouldn’t travel either (I know I would not).
  7. But it’s not, because folks wanting to cancel could just go to urgent care, claim vomiting and nausea, and get a note. That’s why insurance is needed (which we always get, but it’s so medical treatment costs can be reimbursed, most health insurance is only good in the US).
  8. Fortunately the adults in tbd house never got it, but the 5 kids did the 1 year old twins had it the worst.
  9. I’d say yes for COVID and flu, we’ve had dozens of stomach bugs here, do doctors even test? Had the rotavirus here several times, I diagnosed it because it lasted close to two weeks. Not fun.
  10. I think it’s different. I don’t think cucina serves ravioli, or meatballs, does cagney’s offer a burger? Chicken nuggets? Los lobos quesadillas? I think it would have to be a current menu item to modify it.
  11. If they do you’d have to pay the adult price. My daughter is celiac, at the specialty restaurants they really wouldn’t make her something special, just let us know what had gluten, possibly leaving off sauces and such. The MDR’s would make her anything she wanted because it’s all prepared in a separate kitchen and not the main one.
  12. You can find out your assignment at the port sometimes.
  13. The public beach on cabbage has no facilities and water can be rough. I don’t know if cable beach still had any public access.
  14. You question was fine, but your replies seemed a bit snarky towards carnival and their rules.
  15. How old is the son? Once my kids were in college, their SO’s stayed her with them in their bedrooms at home pretty often when on breaks.
  16. There is also the water park at margaritaville, I’ve never been but I’m sure they will have height requirements somewhere.
  17. You can walk over to Junkanoo for free (or rent umbrellas and chairs). I hear the zoo has a cute flamingo show. We’ve done Atlantis twice, the first time we left the under 48” kids on the ship with grandparents.
  18. I’ve never heard that, at $100 it’s the cheapest AI.
  19. It doesn’t, I saw one report here over years.
  20. You can enter the lobby (I think), casino, and marina village. You won’t be able to walk around the grounds or to the beach without a wristband.
  21. These excursions are to mimic exuma island, where feral pigs have lived for decades. They bring farm pigs to an island, and people swim and feed them.
  22. The sand was soft, and it was a calm day, the water was as clear as glass, but I know cabbage beach can get somewhat rough (we spend a lot of time at NJ beaches so are used to waves, but they weren’t there when we went). Schools of black and white fish were easy to see.
  23. Good idea, thank you. She’s a graduate student still on our policy that doesn’t kick in overseas. We went about 10 or so years with emergencies helping us meet our high deductible by March (broken wrist, ankle, a few ambulance rides, hospital stays, surgeries - 5 kids, just bad luck), my kids have taken several international trips, but this past week with a couple of car accidents causing 5 figure damages, I’m not feeling lucky.
