  1. Thanks for that. We’re new to Regent but, sadly, having to wait until Nov 2023 for our first experience, unless anything tempts us in the meantime!
  2. Are the metal water bottles changed daily?
  3. I don’t know your itinerary. We went to Qaqortoq - there were stalls at the tender station selling handicrafts, pictures etc. We paid in US dollars.
  4. Wow, we’ll watch out for that in future. The only thing we’ve been to the naughty table for was a travel iron. We were ‘travelling’ by land after a cruise, hence the iron. Carrying a knife in hand luggage would be awkward if flying to a cruise!
  5. My husband has taken his Swiss army knife on every cruise we've been on - including Saga and P & O. He puts it in his suitcase and has never had a problem. To be honest, I don’t think he’s ever thought it may not be allowed.
  6. On Sky in April there was a notice in the shop stating all cough / cold medicines were only available at the medical centre.
  7. On Sky Princess in April we had to book our own tests. We had ours done at Lloyds Pharmacy which is in a Sainburys near us.
  8. I mentioned Saga as an option for Solo travellers, not for its dress code. We like Oceania too.
  9. We like The Edgar Wallace pub just off The Strand,, London. A traditional English pub! Edgar Wallace was the creator of King Kong.
  10. Also of note - onboard Sky we tried to book a specialty restaurant using the TV and were only offered 9 pm any evening. Went to the desk at the restaurant where we were offered a selection of earlier times!
  11. Solo travellers may be interested in looking at a British cruise line – Saga cruises. They have 2 new ships, Spirit of Discover and Spirit of Adventure sailing from the UK. Both accommodate just under 1000 guests. They offer all balcony rooms, inclusive of drinks (price limit), wi-fi, tips, some excursions and 3 specialty restaurants. Accommodation is offered to solo travellers in all room categories – all the solo travellers we spoke to on a recent cruise were in ‘regular’ double rooms. On the website it’s easy to make a ‘dummy’ booking so it would be easy to compare prices.
  12. We boarded Sky Princess in Southampton in April with just paperwork - it was very speedy with no problem. We arrived at the terminal at 10.45 and were in the Wake View Bar at 11.20!! You should be fine.
  13. Tak8 - thanks for your ‘live’ posts. We will be on Caribbean Princess in July. I don’t use the app - do you know if they still have the small fold-up ship plans? I got one on Regal recently but not on Sky. Thanks.
