  1. Joy, little Oliver is so adorable! And that pink nose and ears! It makes me want to brush his hair backwards to fluff it up more. BTW, thank you for your prayers for sweet "S". She is doing better but please keep praying because it's so hard for a teenager searching for their place in this crazy world.
  2. I'm not @smitty34877 but Little Miss Camilla was born during shutdown, I believe around June 2021 or was it 2020? --Terry correct me if I'm wrong about the timing. She was born premature and we all were there every day thinking of her and praying for her. Her father wasn't there at the beginning because he was working on a ship....Terry I don't remember his vocation. Terry kept us updated and posted an occasional picture.... wow, she has grown so much! (I'm hoping Terry can fill in the blanks.) So, she is a very special baby to us all, watching her get well and grow. I am hoping, praying and the best that little Baby Murphy does the same.
  3. I thought of something else that was nice about her cabin. The desk stool was replaced with a brand new looking chair. My stool was heavy and awkward to move and I ended up not even using it. BTW, I looked it up and it was 1858.
  4. Sandi, I was recently on the Volendam in an inside cabin just across from the D category cabins port side and got to see one. (I knew someone who showed me her cabin.). The shower had been converted to the glassed in type with the tiles and was very nice. I was so jealous because my inside cabin hadn’t.
  5. Good evening all. Lots going on the Daily today. I wanted to thank all of you for your prayers for our close family member going through a difficult time. I have tried to climb mountains but most were figuratively. I have done Tumamoc Hill, like @Nickelpenny, but it was years ago. I have played Mahjong with a high school girl friend but it was years ago too. I treasure the girl friends I have and can count on them. Love the quote. Love the meal suggestion and order it whenever I can, even on a BHB. Olive Garden’s version is very good. I love the frozen version someone mentioned too but don’t buy it very often. Penny @Nickelpenny, I just realized that you might know my cousin. She worked for the Health Department and is retired, her name is Kim. Our mothers are sisters and are the closest to each other out of all 13 children. Have a good evening!
  6. Joy, we watch Blue 90% of the time when he is in our backyard because of our local critters, especially the bobcats. And always go out with him at dusk and in the dark because of the bobcats. Craig is always looking for his flashlight to take him out. 😉 Carolyn, your tomatoes and basil are gorgeous and smart using parm in the mix. Have you ever used balsamic glaze? Oh my, so good. Trader Joe’s has it if you have one nearby.
  7. We keep Blue inside our family room/kitchen which has two entryways but none to the outside. We put up fixed gates on both which have swing openings, one faces the front door and the other faces the backyard. When he needs to go outside he taps on the gate. I can usually tell if it’s for attention or if he really needs to ‘go’. We also keep a potty pad by the gate as a just in case when we aren’t around. He doesn’t use it often, however for some reason he’s using it a lot lately. So much that I had to order some from Chewy last night, since I only have 3 left. Yes, different areas, we are Houghton Broadway and DS is Camino Seco Broadway. They were hit really hard. Earlier my app said it would rain at 3 and now there is nothing. Craig said if he had the weather person job he’d be fired. I just told Craig that I felt like I just flew from Heathrow to Phoenix with a layover and then to Tucson. The view is great but you can’t appreciate it for your weariness.
  8. Good morning and Happy Sunday from a very humid Tucson. We’ve had several heavy monsoon storms the past few days, Friday night and last night the heaviest. Our DS’s power was out Friday night until midnight and his internet was still down as of yesterday morning. His SO saw a transformer hit by lightning and there were reports of trees down. According to my weather app we got 1.2” of rain last night and the yard looks like it. @Nickelpenny, we must be in different areas of town if you haven’t gotten much, we are on the east side. Lots going on in everyone’s lives. Prayers to all. I would appreciate prayers for a family member’s situation that is heavy on our hearts. I can’t go into details. I don’t eat many sweets but do love a good cheesecake. On my last cruise I had a piece almost every day. HAL’s version is very good. The Premier Margarita looks and sounds good. I had stopped drinking them after having bad tequila in 1999 on a party boat excursion until I went to a tequila tasting in Puerto Vallarta in April and in Cabo on an excursion I made my own. The key is really good tequila. The jalapeño version yesterday sounds good too. I might just have to buy some tequila. Has anyone tried the Corona Sunrise that is going around on the internet? I’m not a fan of fish burgers but the fried fish sandwich looks good. I think we will go out for lunch today at my favorite Mexican food place and have a greasy ground beef taco and a Margarita. Have a great day everyone!
  9. On my few B2Bs I stayed on the ship except once. You still have to report and exit the ship so they can do a zero count, sometimes it’s fast, sometimes it’s slow. The one time I didn’t stay onboard I went out and explored and when I came back to the ship it was easy to reboard, passing all the new embarking passengers.
  10. Dixie @summer slope — Happy Birthday!! Enjoy! 🎂🍾🥂🎉🎈
  11. Oh dear! Prayers have been said daily and today I’ll add extra. Plus to give the physicians guidance.
  12. Good morning and Happy Saturday from a cloudy Tucson. It’s currently 97F. We had a storm last night which got the BDay boy out of the pool real fast once he heard the thunder. It started about 7:00 and we got some rain but not enough. Now the backyard and pool are a mess. Not sure if everyone read my post from last night so want to— Thank you all for the Birthday wishes for Craig. So very thoughtful and he was surprised since I hadn’t said anything. He wanted me to make sure to thank you all. Yesterday was spent with DM for an appointment, shopping and lunch. Not easy when it’s 105F but something that had to be done. I was beat when I got home. Taking her rolly thing in and out of the car in the heat multiple times isn’t fun. But in the end this smile made it worth it. DGD Summer is here for the weekend. We will be celebrating her 16th birthday in August— how did that happen!?! Teenagers don’t seem as mature as my generation was though. I know she’s not ready to start driving. I drove everywhere at 16 and had my own car that same year and I had a job. Bon Voyage to @Crazy For Cats Jake & Juan, @dfish Debbie & sister Sue, @NextOne Edi! Enjoy! ⛴⛴⛴ Have a great day everyone!
  13. Good evening! Thank you ALL for the Birthday wishes for Craig. It was an uneventful day because I was with DM for an appointment most of the day and DGD Summer is here for a few days. So we will celebrate next week, hopefully Monday. BTW Vanessa, you really have a knack for keeping track of all of us. I’m beyond impressed.
  14. Congratulations to @Lady Hudson and her DH on their Anniversary! Joy! Oliver is absolutely adorable. And that white hair, so cute. Blue has the same Lambchop. BTW, he’s 9 pounds. Edi, prayers for your friends Danny and Bonnie. Hoping Danny makes a full recovery.
  15. Good morning and Happy Sunday. Last night we had a lot of wind, the windows were rattling and this morning our backyard looked like a dust devil hit. Lots of debris and stuff off neighbors trees. Craig has it cleaned up now. I like spinach, hate snakes, remember woodies, and the best ice cream is Trader Joe’s vanilla. Actually my favorite is stracciatella gelato because the chocolate is irregular, yum, but have to go to the gelato shop to get it. I have made my own but you have to melt the chocolate and add it in while the vanilla base is churning so it’s a bit of extra work. I’ll pass on everything else. Yesterday we smoked a whole chicken and it was very good. I made potato salad and baked beans for sides. I discovered wood chunks and they are so much easier to use than wood chips. Highly recommend if anyone here likes to smoke using their kettle grill with charcoal. I think we’ll have steak today. I haven’t been reading much of the other threads on CC lately and after reading some of it today I’m kind of glad. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Prayers for all who need them, especially Baby Murphy. Have a great day everyone!
  16. Good evening all! Craig and I just watched a large family of javelina that included teenagers, little ones and two tiny babies. They like to go through the easement behind our backyard and root around. We watched them for 20 minutes. Happy Birthday to your nephew! We had thunder two nights but only sprinkles, just enough to get the car dirty. I noticed that the humidity is down so I don’t think we’ll have monsoon this weekend even though the clouds to the east look like it should. So exciting about Oliver coming home on Monday! Poor thing needs some room after his cramped beginning. I hope you post a picture!
  17. Joy @Seasick Sailor — Happy 80th Birthday to Allen!! Enjoy the celebrations!! 🎈🎂 🎉 🎈🥂 🍾 🎈
  18. Thank you Graham. Also please tell Father David Happy Birthday from me. Vanessa, I am so sorry to read about your dear friend Ruth's passing. Condolences to her friends, family, you and your BFF.
  19. We have been to Cabo San Lucas many times and most recently I was there in April. Here are a few pictures. Watching the tenders. You can see the arch in the distance. I took a Salsa and Salsa excursion which was a lot of fun. Unlimited margaritas, of which some had too many. I heard stories later from trivia friends that their tender ride back was quite rowdy and discovered that some were from my excursion. It was a fun time but I was concerned that we weren’t going to make it to the ship in time for sail away. I ended up being on the next to the last tender and was surprised when my kind MDR steward assisted me aboard. I was irritated though that the tender wasn’t a HAL tender but a port tender and the “drivers” were asking for tips. Sorry but they were unprofessional and because I was one of the last to board I was near them. It took forever to board because of the back up of tenders. After the Salsa Sail away.
  20. Susan! So good to see you posting and what a great picture, riding a huge motorcycle. Just what I would expect from you my friend.
