  1. Good morning and Happy Wednesday from a beautiful sunny Tucson. Yesterday’s official high was 99F! Yikes! I heard we broke a record. Jake @Crazy For Cats, Happy Birthday to River! I love your cats names. I leave early tomorrow morning for Fort Lauderdale and was able to check in for my flight during my early morning awake time earlier. Thank goodness I was able to get back to sleep. Sandi @StLouisCruisers, I’m glad @TiogaCruiser sent you the itinerary for our cruise. I’m going to send you the following two itineraries for the Volendam since I’ll be onboard those two. Craig did his magic with the computer and made me a nice listing with the maps and itineraries. I have a paper ship that Craig was given at his retirement party and am planning on putting that on my cabin door with the magnetic tape you recommended. Hopefully, I can put the ship back together! (And no one decides to swipe it!). And I have sheet protectors with the magnetic tape for the maps. Bruce @aliaschief, Cartagena is on my itinerary also and don’t have anything planned since I’ve been there before. It was very hot and humid then. Have a great day everyone!
  2. I think that is a great idea. Back when our son was young he begged for a kitten. When he and I went to check out a kitten (and on the other side of town!), we couldn’t decide and I ended up getting the brother and sister from the litter. I’m glad I did because they were inseparable.
  3. Thank you all for the Bon Voyage good wishes. I'm excited and leave very early Thursday morning. Bon Voyage to my fellow cruisers too!
  4. Welcome to the Daily! We all would love for you to post more! We won’t bite, promise.
  5. Good morning and Happy Tuesday. Sandi @StLouisCruisers, I just couldn’t resist teasing you about saying it was Monday. I don’t want to add another day getting ready to go to Fort Lauderdale Thursday. 😉 Lately I’ve been waking up around 4:00-4:30ish with my mind racing about all I need to do before Wednesday night. So I have been reading for about an hour and a half, usually the Daily or WC blogs. It takes my mind off my trip preparations and can usually get back to sleep for about an hour and a half. I sure hope this doesn’t continue. Usually I sleep better onboard. @kochleffel, I was on the Oosterdam last June and loved the ship. It was the third time we sailed on her and I noticed nothing like what has been reported. In fact that was the cruise my DH got covid and was in quarantine and the staff couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful while I was alone. BTW, will your new pet be a cat? Have a great day everyone!
  6. Good morning Vanessa and thank you for putting our Daily group on the Celebration List. Could you also add @Dismomx5? She and her DH are sailing on the Volendam until 5/6. We have a Daily get together set up and I’m looking forward to seeing Susan @AV8rix again and meeting @TiogaCruiser and @Dismomx5. Jane @lazey1 joins the ship on 5/2 in San Diego and it’ll be nice to see her again plus go on several excursions together. Thank you for all the work you do to keep the lists up to date!
  7. What a wonderful sailaway! I'll be on the Volendam a week from today. I'd say watch for me but I'm not sure where I'll be except aft of the Lido. See you then!
  8. Thank you for the link Nancy! Sorry Graham but I tried that and it didn’t work. Nancy @0106 shared the link so I was able to share it with my family. Not really sure why, maybe it’s an iPhone thing. I really do appreciate you posting it, such a beautiful video. Our DD was born on Good Friday so I know she loved it too.
  9. I totally understand! I have very short narrow feet and have always had troubles finding shoes. When I found these it was a godsend. But you have to know your size for sure! Graham, I tried doing that but couldn’t save it or share it. Might be because I have an iPhone. Not sure. How fun! I wish I was going with you, your pictures were amazing.
  10. Vanessa, I don’t know if you like shopping for shoes online but I absolutely love my black flats from Allbirds. The most comfortable shoes I’ve ever had. I have 4 pair, two black, a navy and a gray. I got my DD hooked on them too. I have bought her two pair. Free shipping and returns. If you decide to order just make sure you order a half size larger.
  11. My post from December 15, 2022: We were just in Saint John, NB (not to confused with St. John’s, Newfoundland) just two months ago. We took a trolley tour to the reversing rapids. The pictures don’t do it justice. And also the City Market that Jacqui @kazu mentioned. However, it was closed, I don’t remember why but it was a Sunday. Some vendors opened up just for the tourists. It’s huge inside. We saw Debbie @dfish and Carolyn & Henry @Cruising-along there but they were on a different tour. If we ever go back I’d like to take the tour Debbie did from the other side. They were able to walk on the riverbed. Refresh my memory if I’m wrong Debbie. 😉
  12. Sandi @StLouisCruisers, thank you so much for sharing your ideas and pictures about your door decorations on that other thread! (Who knew so many dislike them though.) I love seeing the door decorations. I have ordered magnetic tape so I can put up my calendar and maybe, just maybe, a door decoration. I'm not as clever as you or @ger_77 with ideas. Craig always does a calendar for us so we know what we are doing each day, like excursions and times, etc. I usually just put it in that rack below the TV but now will use that magnetic tape instead. Great idea! Thank you again.
  13. Good morning and Happy Thursday. I can’t believe that I leave one week from today for Fort Lauderdale and will be gone 34 days! It will be the longest trip I’ve ever done. Thank goodness our roll call has livened up a bit and that’s thanks to @TiogaCruiser. She is organizing a paper bead session and paper flowers session. Someone else is doing an origami session. But still no CC M&G, however, several of us from the Daily are getting together. Yesterday was busy and I got a lot done. I’m beginning to wonder if all my stuff will fit in the one suitcase I’m taking. Annie @marshhawk, thinking of you today and your scan. BTW, the number of Gala nights are listed on my boarding pass. I’m not sure you have access to that since your friend is doing that portion. But what you could do is create an account with HAL and go to your booking but you would need the booking number. Have you checked in yet online? Or is your friend doing that too? Debbie @dfish, Kelsey Nixon had a show for a while on the Cooking Channel, the sister to the Food Network. Her recipe looks good but I probably won’t make it soon. I’m trying to use up freezer food right now. Have a great day everyone!
  14. I don’t eat breakfast often but do on vacation or a cruise or sometimes for dinner. I like a sunny side up egg and poached eggs. When I make a sunny side up egg I put a lid on to cook the white but you have to be careful because sometimes it can overcook. Yummy on fried rice or hash.
  15. Good morning and Happy Tuesday. It’s chilly this morning and @cruising sister will be even chillier on Mount Lemmon. Right now it’s 24F there. Dune is one of Craig’s all time favorite books. He took it on one of our early cruises and gave it away to someone on the plane. He sort of regrets doing that because he now collects and keeps his favorites. Blue has a paw-dicure appointment this morning. Other than that not much else happening. Although I do really need to start setting out clothes to pack. I never wear orange but decided to buy an orange top to wear for the Orange Party. There are 4 Gala nights on the first segment so I need to see if I have a second dress. I really don’t want to wear the same dress 6 times (6 for all segments). And yes, they used Gala instead of Dressy. I will check back in later. Have a great day everyone!
  16. Enjoy Mt Lemmon! We rent a cabin every year and enjoy it very much although I’m not a fan of the drive.
  17. Sandi, I found this but it only lists the ports. https://www.reggaeville.com/dates/festival-details/love-and-harmony-cruise-2023/details/
  18. Darn it! Try as I might I can't find DM's porcupine meatball recipe. I even went through her recipe box one by one thinking it had been misfiled. She had a crazy system. But no, it wasn't there. Sorry everyone. I'm going to ask her about it on Sunday when we go to lunch for Easter at her retirement center and see if she remembers. She'll just probably say it was meat and rice mixed together, formed into balls, and cooked with a tomato sauce. We had it frequently and I vividly remember seeing the rice poke out from the meatballs like a porcupine!
  19. Lucky you Susan!! Maybe we are across the hall from each other.
  20. Dixie, I think the airlines are getting better. Our overseas flights last year were stressful so we are staying closer this year. We have had no problems with domestic flights. Will do Jane!
