All you will get is a personalised message on the screens when you approach,  and possibly a chocolate cake in the MDR.

The worst case scenario is that assorted waiters will sing Happy Birthday.

I would avoid adding it to your booking.

Why do you say this?  You assume the OP is adding a birthday or Anniversary for themselves.  It could be for a child or their mother.

I know the old saying if you have to ask then you can’t afford it but can someone please share the approximate cost of a Sky Suite?

I think it depends on how many days you will be sailing or if the area of the world you want to visit is in demand.  I did a mock booking for a ten day and the price was $27,000

You could always bring the home tests with you and test in your hotel room before flying.  Just so you know if you have to take extra precautions before getting on a plane with 150+ other people.  DH & I tested positive when we came home from our cruise last month.  God knows how many hundreds of people we infected on the ship, in the ports, airport, and airplane.  We didn't know we had Covid.  We wish we had brought the home tests with us.  Granted, there was nothing we could do about it on the plane (social distance) but definitely on the ship and in the airport.

    Thank you for the tip

That should read the testing requirement if entering the US by air as that was what is ending; there were no testing requirements for entering by other means.

you are correct the new announcement cover aircraft citizens returning to the USA by air.  Thanks for the clarification

When you first set up the package on board the ship, you designate a Username and a PIN Code.

Everyone who uses that package uses the same Username and PIN Code.

If you have a 2-device package, two different devices can be connected at the same time, both using the same Username and PIN Code.  If a third device tries to connect using that Username and PIN Code, they get a notice that all available devices are in use, and they get the option to bump off one of those devices and connect to the system, or just not connect the third device.

thank you for your answer.  I now know how it works.  Have a great day

  6. Ok I get what you guys are saying.  Let me clarify something.  I have my iphone with me always; so I guess it was hard for me to see which was actually opening cabin door;  the medallion itself or the app. Sorry for any confusion; I get what you're saying about the app itself.  As for carrying my iphone always;  well I do a facebook family blog on every cruise; and I post from all over the ship.  Thus my phone is always with me.  I know; I am tethered to tech;  which I actually like

But your change was for flying from the same city.

The poster wanted to change their departure city from YVR to Seattle.

Are you saying you could have changed your flight to Miami from originating, let's say, from Cincinnati to one originating from Chicago at no change in price?

Got it; I did not pay attention to the actual city the OP was wanting to change. However, I did change cities once and the flight was cheaper from the new city; so that's a good thing.  Sorry I confused the answers

Those two features are not part of the app they are a separate system that uses the medallion unique  ID( a single number) as the trigger( open door) or bring up your mug shot for security.

Same at the bars the medallion  just sticks a number into the POS system that brigs up your account(they could type in the number or just use cabin number)  it has nothing to do with the app.

I am confused by your response.  If opening the cabin door is not part of the app;  then how does my door open when my app comes in close proximity to the cabin door?

Thank you both @AF-1 and @WAvoyager for weighing in on my post #3375!  I keep hoping that the MedallionClass app will finally perform as promised, but over the past 13 months it has been an exercise in perpetual frustration for me.  As a huge fan of Princess Cruises, it concerns me that there are new(er) cruisers who will not be so willing to stick with the growing pains.

I sail Enchanted Princess in October.  I have used the app on previous cruises.  For my October cruise I will open the app on 1 September.  Have too much  going on to worry about the app not working correctly.  I am not going to stress over which forms the app accepts or rejects.  In September if the app works that is a plus,  if I am still in Blue Lane I will complete everything at the port.  Have a great day.
