I asked that specific question of our guide when we boarded our 13 passenger van. The short version is no, they are not mandated. In fact Princess pretty much didn’t offer any guidelines to the tour company.

In the beginning I would say all but 4-5 passengers were wearing masks. By the end of the 4 hour tour, where we were in the van between 5 to 20 minutes between stops, us and maybe one other couple were still wearing masks. It’s like some folks are still in denial as to what’s been going on.

But, hey, we’re good and really that’s all we can do is to protect ourselves. We’re double boosted and our T-cells are working on over drive after a recent bout with a regular head cold a few weeks prior to the cruise. Now, if we were on the next leg after this one, we would probably be a little more conservative when booking excursions, like on a catamaran or open air bus, since we would have to pass an antigen test. 😁

It doesn't help matters when last night on the news the White House Physician tells the public to get ready for another Covid variant wave which is in New England now and is headed down the east coast.  Maybe some of the passengers on your cruise saw this news report or read it online and decided to keep wearing masks.

Overall, very nice cruise. We are staying on for the next cruise but in an aft CC cabin. They let us move our stuff tonight as the room was empty. All unpacked which will make a stress free tomorrow.

The new room is so much better, but of course smaller. Lots more drawer space , and even more closet space. Magnetic walls, grab bar in shower as well as a clothes line. Shelves in the bathroom. Huge aft balcony with 2 chairs, 2 loungers and a table.

I will do a review of this room in a few days.

Many years ago now we were on the Millennium and chatted to an elderly couple in Michael’s who had booked the CS as a treat for their anniversary. Quite simply she could not use the bathtub and he described it as a ‘bit of a challenge’. Far too dangerous for her to even attempt, she was not disabled but small and her balance and mobility were not wonderful. It definitely took the edge off the pleasure of their cruise. Fortunately, they did tell tell the concierge part way through the cruise who was able to get them an empty inside cabin to use to shower in…Not ideal but better than nothing.

Our butler arranged for us to look at other cabin types on swap over day (we were on a b2b) and we could clearly see the issue…

I think that the CS suites on M class definitely need some sort of ‘unsuitable for the less mobile’ warning and, as you say, some grab rails in many suites would be welcomed by many!

where would you attach a grab rail?

The sky suites next to the penthouse rooms on the M class ships are amazing. I like the Sky Suites on the S Class better. Have not been on the Edge class yet.

Suites vary, even on the same ships.

Can you explain what M class and S class means?  Thank you.  I have not sailed Celebrity yet and do not know what the Letters mean.  Thank you

As an aside, how have you been feeling/doing?

I have been on hormone treatments for one year.  My Oncologist is very happy with my bloodwork and says we will stay the course.   I go this wednesday to have my blood drawn and see my oncologist next week to receive another hormone injection.  Thank you for asking

  6. Sorry to say that if you live in the United States; after Sept 11, 2001 there really is no privacy any more.  The gov't can track your whereabouts all the time.  I don't worry about Princess keeping track of me on the ship.  It is not a big deal and won't ruin my cruise vacation.  My wife loves that she can find me anywhere on the ship.  I wander off quite a bit; so she likes to be able to track me.  Everyone have a great week.  Cheers

For some reason, my previous post disappeared.  I don't think all inclusive fares should be mandatory.  Having a choice is always better.  All inclusive rates are good for those who use all of the features which are included, but for those who don't use all of the features, it's not a good deal as they would be subsidizing the others.  That being said, I take advantage of the all inclusive fares on Princess.

Daniel A   thank you for your feedback.  I appreciate it

Yes for me. Our next Princess cruise is almost all inclusive. We had no separate fees and have premium drink packages, auto tips, internet and discounts on excursions per cabin. Still pay for excursions, casino,  and specialty dinning. For dinning we get the perk for platinum plus two from our TA. I like not dishing out for soda card for hubby and drink as well as coffee card for me. Always prepay the tips then just add if needed on board but no worries this time either.

    good for you;  have fun

Yes, i went last evening. They could not help me and said someone from concierge would find me and help fix. Never happened. So i went to concierge this morning and they couldn't help either, i was told again someone would find me later with an answer... Obi-Wan-Kenobi is my only hope...

Although you have app issues;  I hope you are enjoying your cruise.

I don’t know why - it’s been happening on other voyages as well - there’s no published outage of either the legacy MEO O3b network or the new exciting m3POWER 03b network, but ping times show they’re using the old GEO satellites a non-zero amount of the time.    Surprisingly, the newer constellation would be cheaper to use - the same amount of data takes up far less of the capacity so the satellite subscriber pays less.

It’s just weird and Princess has been reimbursing a lot of customers as a result.

Thanks for the reasoning about the wifi connections.

  11. I just noticed there are 117 pages of medallion app issues.  I would hope that Princess would listen to the people.  It's a shame that we passengers have to come up with ways to solve app issues or help others with their app problems.  Man I feel everyone's pain with the medallion app  issues.  Good luck for those who get it to work properly, or have no issues at all,  and sorry for all those who still have on- going issues with the app.  Two years and it still doesn't work for everyone.  Sad😔
