I would change only one word in your post, little to a lot. Makes your life a LOT less stressful.
Amen to that

Royal sails to both Labadee and CocoCay. I don't believe Royal would send you to Labadee for a day at the beach if they thought the people on the island may have Covid. Same applies to all the Royal sponsored shore excursions. The shore excursion companies don't want to put cruise passengers at risk; they would never get another contract with Royal Caribbean.

hang in there poocher; maybe corporate has to contact the insurance company; look at the actual contract amount and are trying to get you a proper answer that will satisfy you.

Thanks for all info! We are on Medicare which does not cover anything outside USA, so I am considering travel insurance for Canada ( I have Princess ins for ship)
Can you recommend a good travel ins? Any experience with Allianz Travel Ins?
I definitely considered switching our return to Seattle, but I bought YVR flight with EZAir, and when I called Princess outside the 45 day (no charge to cancel? Or change) agent told me I could not change without a 200-300$ fee! And of course flights were over double what I originally paid months ago!! She also said Princess doesn’t offer shuttle to SEA. I asked to be transferred to Customer Relations (?)
since I know the information was not correct, but it was over an hour hold time so I hung up. I will not buy EZAir again! We plan on taking Covid tests with us!
Booking directly with the airline avoids any change fees. Sorry you are getting frustrated. Hang in there.

We looked at the seats on AA first and saw that they still have PE seats available for the one way since our plan was to take a transatlantic cruise. We then went to EZair and selected PE to get the quote.
But I read on another post that they were trying to select their seats on AA, but EZair had not paid for their reservation so that's why they were not able to see in on AA to select their seats.
If you are a American Airlines frequent flyer member; once you choose your flight on EZ Air log into your American account; you should be able to see the reservation and pick your seat

Can anyone help with trying to reach someone at Princess who can speak English and not be verbally abusive? I'm thinking that the Carnival brands are going down the tubes financially.
my suggestion is transfer your cruise booking to a travel agent and let the travel agent deal with Princess. Makes your life a little less stressful

Actually, there are some good prices on Apex for certain itineraries. Celebrity Beyond, the newest ship in the fleet, is quite a bit more expensive in the Med than the other ships. Edge class ships tend to price higher than S class and certainly more than M class.
Thank you for correcting my and I will look at pricing more closely; have a great day and cheeers

Dar & Bob, and Ken the Cruiser; thank you both for all the great info. I have booked my first Celebrity Cruise on the Apex for Mar 2023 out of FLL. I am so glad everyone loves the Edge; looks like Apex is the sister ship. I have been sailing on Princess for the past five years and prior to that both RCI and NCL. I will be sailing on Enchanted Princess in Oct to New England/Canada; this is why I was asking about similarities and differences between the two ships. All the best to everyone and cheers

We started off very loyal to Royal, Rhapsody, Radiance, Voyager, Oasis, Harmony, Allure and Symphony. The Symphony TA was one of the best cruises we have been on, had an absolute ball of a time.
Then tried Princess with a group of friends out of Fremantle (our home port) and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We tend to lean more towards Princess now than Royal.
In my very personal opinion, I believe that Royal is attempting to go to a two class system on their ships. Yes, I understand that people pay more for their suites and should get some perks. However, they seem to get perks for everything and even venues on the ship that other people are not able to access. Also, the emphasis on Diamond Plus and Pinnacle has really turned me off Royal as well.
Princess cruises that we have been on there is very little emphasis on their top tier guests and you don't have that feeling of segregation you can get on the larger Royal ships.
Also, big bonus in Princess's favour... they have guest laundry mats on board the ship! It saved us a fortune in laundry when we did the Antarctic cruise on Coral and we didn't have to take so much clothing with us. 40 minutes out of our day and we had clean clothes. Royal, can cost a small fortune and we've waited 24 hours to get our washing back....
Cheers,
NaomiGreat observation. I think Norwegian started the two tier system when they introduced the Haven back in 2014

When Medallion program was lunched three years ago; I think Princess should have started small. Have the medallion app open cabin door and allowing you to get on and off the ship. Once that worked to perfection they should have looked at adding one or two additional features such as ordering food and drinks and buying items in gift shop. Once all that worked they could expand. Like I mentioned in my post# 3371, there are plenty of third party apps on my Iphone that work great.

Dar & Bob; what things did you like about Celebrity Edge? What things on that ship are better or different than say: Enchanted Princess or Sky Princess? Thank for any answer you may have

darnoc23; cruise fares vary by destination, and the ship itself. Right now Celebrity Apex commands a premium price because its a new ship. But you can still get some good pricing deals for certain cruises.

I can't answer questions about why an app does not support certain funtions. If the app was part of a fortune 500 companies lifeline such as linkedin; you can bet it will work the way it was designed to

Princess offers all inclusive fairs, Royal does not. Royal has great entertainment along with good food. Princess has good entertainment along with great food.

fairmontracer. the medallion class app message system is not the same as iphone imessage. you will not get a notification when you message a family member using the medallion app. Yes you can message people on the ship using the ships intranet; but there will be no notification. You just have to keep checking the app to see if someone has messaged you. The IT people on the ship can not fix it; because it isn't available on the app. If two people both buy the wifi package then you can use i-message just like onshore

cruisin from florida; so glad to hear you are ok and received good care. All the best. Cheers

Wifi at sea can be spotty. For video test; you need even faster speeds which may not be available on the ship. I know Royal Caribbean has two packages Voom internet and Voom surf and watch which gives you a faster connection for watching videos and doing face time calls; such as what is need for a test protor to use

Thanks for giving me ideas about booking with both refundable and non refundable fares. I have learned some good tips from you guys. Thank you

has anyone used the eMed test? If you've used it, how long did it take for your results? Thanks
If I test positive at YVR after Royal Princess cruise, and before flying back to USA with EZAir, who pays for quarintine?

I have to disagree. Delta, American both have no change fees. I fly Delta exclusively and have made six changes to both international and domestic trips in the past three months. No change fees involved. I booked a flight to Miami on American for Jan. Three days later I changed the dates; no change fees and no price increase
