  1. Log out of the app and then log back in again. That has solved our issues in the past. As far as the health questionnaire, that shows up 24 hours prior to sailing. Just answer the questions then, it takes no time at all to do.
  2. Definitely do it if you it is offered. I know when we went, they gave you a list of what was available that week and there was some things that were on that link but were crossed off for some reason. I would suggest you remove any earrings as you put on a dry suit and they pull a hood over your head that is really tight and almost ripped out my earrings. We wished we had worn thermal underwear too as it got a little cold when you got hit with waves. I was in the middle, so not as cold because I wasn't being hit with waves as much. My DH was on the side and was almost hypothermic when we finished. He was really shaking. The ATV was fun too. Ours was more like a dune buggy since it was a side by side. I had never driven one before, so it was neat to drive through the river bed and stream. We did end up dirty after that excursion and had planned for it. One thing I found that helped with this trip was to pack a suitcase for the cruisetour and one for the cruise. The bus driver will put a different tag on the cruise luggage and it stays on the bus they whole time. We were gone for 15 days between our cruise, cruisetour and a few DIY days at the beginning and one at the end. I know we each had a rollaboard and I think we brought three 26" suitcases with us, two stayed on the bus and one for the cruisetour if I am remembering correctly. I know we had to have at least one big suitcase for the cruisetour because they lost my rollaboard when we got to Denali, but I remember I still had clothing to wear, just not what I had planned. All luggage has to go under the bus each day and you keep a daypack. They finally found it the last night while we were on the ATV excursion but getting it at 11pm when you are leaving at 7am the next morning was not helpful. We are not light packers and are glad we had everything we did. We flew first class since it was such a long flight, so no luggage fees. We did two days DIY in the Anchorage area before to Fairbanks the morning of our cruisetour to meet our group. We found Alaska Air at the time had free baggage if you were flying within the state, so that saved us too. We flew out early but found that the tour director wasn't even at the hotel until the afternoon, so we were on our own. We weren't the only ones wandering around, wishing they knew the schedule ahead of time as we would have taken a later flight. Another thing that was not communicated well was the transfer from the airport to the hotel. That is included in the cruisetour price but you need to notify them of your flight information by a certain date or you are on your own. Some on our cruise didn't find the information in their documents and never got on the transfer list. We are really happy we did the cruisetour but there is a lot of hurry up and wait. Hopefully, you have people on your bus that can tell time and believe in schedules. We had one couple that were late constantly. It takes away from time at the next stop and they just didn't get it or care. We were actually leaving them at Glitter Gulch in Denali and they were going to have to get on a different cruisetour bus when they came walking towards the bus as we were pulling away.
  3. Yes, we bought the pictures of us. It was a great time. something we figured we should do while we still could. When we went in 2018, they offered two different excursions. We chose the float down the river as opposed to the rapids. We made the right choice since we were early in the season and the river was running really high from all the snow melt. The float ended up doing class II and III rapids and the other did class III and IV. Our trip was perfect with enough whitewater to make it fun. I heard the other trip was very intense that week. They were very safe with a second, one man boat ahead of us pointing out wildlife and finding the safest way to go. He was also there to grab anyone that might fall out of our raft.
  4. When we did our cruisetour, you did not book the optional cruisetour excursions until you met with your tour director on the first day of your cruisetour. I did find a list of the optional excursions and had already picked out what we wanted to book ahead of time. You can see the optional excursions in this link under the resources tab. https://www.royalcaribbeancruisetours.com/ We did 4b and were in Denali two nights. We did the ATV one night and the rafting the other. We really enjoyed both. We did the side by side ATV and that was easy to drive. We did a Salmon bake in Fairbanks that was okay. We should have done it with the show. It is easy to do excursions at night because it is light out. We got back from rafting just after 10pm.
  5. We have bids in on multiple cabins and were able to check in for our cruise yesterday with no issues. We are on a different ship though. Have you tried logging out of the app and logging back in again? That has worked for us in the past when we have had issues.
  6. That is too bad they can't make it. Weather has wrecked havoc with the airlines this summer. We had two family weddings this summer and many had issues getting to the weddings and then getting home. Some of my nieces had to skip the second wedding this past weekend because they lost so much PTO getting home from the last wedding due to weather. Your dance will go perfect, all that matters is the two of you. Best wishes.
  7. That is quite the jump from what he actually said. He books suites so he will have access to Coastal Kitchen for meals. This allows him to avoid the Windjammer and the crowds. We do the same thing when we sail a ship that has Royal Suite Class.
  8. The ship would have to slowdown so they could airlift the passenger off the ship. The helicopter would have been seen and heard by some passengers who might be alarmed. They don't want passengers out on deck, investigating what is going on. Making an announcement, notifies all of the situation and instructs them on what safety measures they need to follow.
  9. @DaniDanielle If you guys do end up booking, let me know. I understand Charlie isn't ready yet, but if that changes, we are also looking to add a cruise too. I need to get my Mom to Florida to deal with a few things and she doesn't want to fly but I had her excited to cruise again and was going to book something when we got back from a family wedding that was over Labor Day. Unfortunately, it has turned into a covid cluster, with some of my family members very sick. My immediate household and my Mom are negative so far, but some that we were with all weekend are not. Time will tell but it has put a halt to her wanting to cruise. 😞
  10. JR did not have omelets when we sailed them last year and this past May. They have scrambles now, no omelets.
  11. That is nothing new, I have seen many people do that in the past.
  12. I agree, enough with those bathing suits. I was really surprised that Captain Jason participated in that in the past. I also think them serving food off of crew members, as they have done in the past, should be stopped too. Downunder was better when they featured scuba diving and snorkeling.
  13. Lots of repeat crew on BD Med. Tumi is chief stew, her first time in the role, Natalya and Kyle are back as stews and Luka, who we are now watching on BD Downunder, is on deck. Plus, Captain Kate who it looks like has a medical issue. You should be able to catch it sometime during the week, it is played a bunch of times or stream it. I have it set to record each week on the DVR. As far as BD Downunder, Culver is useless and really needs to go.
  14. Been to both ports many times. In Halifax, we like taking a cab up to the Citadel first thing off the ship and doing the first guided tour. It ends right around the time they do the noon firing of the cannon. We then walk down the hill to the waterfront boardwalk and do some shopping on the way back to the ship. Along the boardwalk is also a Maritime Museum that has a lot of Titanic artifacts. Whole museum can be done in about an hour. Discount admission with AAA card or CAA card. We have also done a brewery tour at Alexander Keith Brewery which is also right in the area. It is done in costume and once you start the tour you are back in time when they are just starting the brewery. You end up in a pub in the brewery with bar maids singing sea shanties. Cost of tour includes two beers last time we did it. There is also an immigration museum in the opposite direction of the boardwalk that has good exhibits. Peggy's Cove is another option but would be an excursion or car hire at the port. In Portland, we are doing something very different when we go there later this fall. We are going to do the Mail Run on Casco Bay Ferries. It is $17pp and you go on the mail boat to five of the islands in Casco Bay. If there are a bunch of passengers, they will narrate. otherwise, it is byob and food, and you just enjoy the scenery. Length of cruise depends on how much freight they are moving that day but is typically 3 to 3 1/2 hours. We are going to go to Holy Donuts, grab a large coffee and some potato donuts and enjoy our trip, weather permitting. Tickets only sold day of, so no money lost if we change our minds.
  15. We no longer do Royal Up bids if we have booked a suite GTY. We had a suite GTY on Anthem and ended up with a 2 bedroom GS. We found out a couple of weeks prior to sailing. We had already bid on a GS and OS by the time we got our cabin assignment. I was able to cancel the bids. We would have been very upset to win a Royal Up and pay additional for a cabin that was of lesser value than the one assigned.
  16. We received this for our May cruise and what we requested was in our cabin when we boarded. I have seen it discussed here before but didn't try to find the other thread. 🙂
  17. They need to do underwater surveys to make sure there isn't anything that got blown into the water or sunk during the storm. If a ship comes in and hits something that is submerged, that could cause the port to shutdown for an extended period of time.
  18. One day on board credit will be a calculated by dividing the cruise fare you paid by the scheduled number of days of the sailing. That is how it has always been calculated. Not sure why you would think it will be a random number.
  19. If you pulldown on the "watch another webcam" at the top, there are a bunch of webcams at various ports including Tampa. 🙂
  20. Looks pretty breezy in the Dockyard. They didn't make them take all the boats out of the marina either as they have in the past. https://www.portbermudawebcam.com/
  21. You can by looking at the deckplans. Here is a snip of deck 11, the larger gap between 11188 and 11190 is where a firewall is located. Check the deck you are on for gaps that look like that.
  22. They will get Oasis out of there. They have already moved the casino boat out of the channel, they aren't going to leave a big ship in there. There is a pilot boat coming into the channel. Oasis should be out of there soon.
  23. Effective 9pm it goes to ZULU. Oasis hasn't left yet. It leaves at 9pm.
