geoherb reported on what he received from room service. I was hoping the dining room would have served real key lime pie.

What I ordered was also from room service. I haven’t seen key lime pie yet on the dining room menu.

Yes it was listed as pie but there was no graham cracker crust. @geoherb reported on it last week so I knew it was going to be key lime pudding. I just wanted to give it a try myself and it was ok but nothing to write home about.

The only key lime I like is the martini.
They used to make it at Crooner’s, but no Crooner’s onboard.

@caribill the dessert pictured above with LBD is a banana/chocolate mousse And tge texture and taste was far superior to the LBD.

I know the Patters have been posted for previous cruises but I didn't take a screen shot and can't find them.  Friends going on cruise Sept 19 were asking what times the shows were.  So would someone either answer the question OR post one Patter for the week showing the evening activities?  Thanks so much.  Looking forward to our cruise on the 12th.

This is the only one I have at the moment

Wait WHAT? Please do tell when you have a chance. You and hubby are good people so I can’t even imagine! BTW hope you are  feeling  better! Have some ginger if not. 😺

LOL Fight Club. It’s goin’ down!
    Just Kidding!

Situation is resolved. I spoke with her this evening, And she is actually a very nice person. I inadvertently slammed my cabin door last night,  Most likely a couple times,  because I went  back-and-forth to the cabin in between various festivities, And the noisy door woke her up and she’s a light sleeper, so I just told her that I’m trying to be considerate and she really appreciated it.

BTW: The show tonight was spectacular. All the vocalists were strong and the dancers were so good I’ve seen the show before,  but tonight’s was the BEST!

    Dinner  at Concerto  was delicious!

After being seated in the circle area, a lovely couple was  seated next to me.  Of course,  we ended up chatting,  and my dinner once again took two hours, lol,  but that was due

to the wonderful conversation with them.  Service was excellent.
    Table # 365.
Had the beef medallions , medium rare,  cooked perfectly,  and an appetizer portion of the pesto pasta, which was so good, and the mignondises (sp) for dessert. I love mignondises.  I’m sure you all know what I’m talking about,  but I can’t remember how to spell it. That and the word  ‘hors d’oeuvres.’

And when the couple next to me had their dessert , they too were offered the mignon whatevers, and so I had two more to go along with the previous four I’d already had, and that doesn’t even count the profiterole Pineapple coconut cream Thingy I’d eaten 20 minutes earlier
The good news is I haven’t eaten since then and it’s been four hours!

Two days on the ship and I feel like a cat whose used up 8 lives!

    Hi there Cat Lady

I am really curious as to the ambiance on the cruise regarding the passengers.  With all the covid 19 and Delta variant and Lambda variant stuff going on, are you passengers friendly and open?

You sound like you are having a wonderful time.  Maybe when you get home we can get together with you mom and hear more about this trip. Take care

    Hi @Knickearth

The ambience is the same as usual, even with all the new protocols. People are respectful and wearing their masks while walking around inside, but everyone here is very polite, except for my next-door cabin neighbor who wrote me a nasty gram this morning and slipped it under the door — actually, more of a passive aggressive gram ( but that’s a whole other story) LOL.
i’m giving her a pass this time, but if there’s one more issue I will assert myself.

Overall,  the atmosphere on board is very close to what you would expect on any other Princess cruise.  People don’t seem exceedingly freaked out by the virus or anything,  and I think everybody’s taking everything in stride. The energy level is quite high, actually.
The employees are wonderful and they are thrilled to be back on board,  so That resonates with the passengers,  and as a result we are all happy, too.
I think princess is an exceptional cruiseline.

Oh yes, the "first full day, welcome to the west side of Vancouver Island, hope you took your Bonine" portion of an Alaska cruise...

How good is the room service coffee? The one time I ordered the continental breakfast on NCL the coffee was wretched, so I'm hoping for better things on Princess.

I'll be curious to see the numbers for the September 5 cruise (for which I need to start packing). Our roll call lost several people after the testing/mask requirement was announced.

Coffee is not spectacular Unless you pay for it but it’s tolerable. it’s really nice on board right now with only 1800 people; it’s the perfect number. There’s enough activity, yet it’s not elbow to elbow which makes for a pleasant cruise.  Overall, seems to be  it’s a seasoned group of

cruisers.  I spoke with the captain circle hostess today I have forgotten her new title I’m sorry, she indicates that there’s approximately 900 some odd first timers on board approximately 230 elite and I thought she indicated around 500 platinums.
I can get more accurate numbers later in the week.

went to the wine tasting today I’m not a big fan of wine but it’s always fun to go because I always learn something new. It was well attended.  I’d estimate at least 125 were there.
not sure if I’m going to make it to the Concerto tonight or not, unless I get a second wind in the next half hour.

Dinner was a lot of fun last night sharing with others but it did take a long time, But there was no urgency on my part either, to attend other activities.

Had some Ramen from the noodle bar today and it was very good.

I was a little disappointed in the offerings at the buffet. My husband and I usually only eat at the buffet because we love it so much. And it’s understandable that it looks a bit sparse right now due to the porosity of people onboard.  Even so, there weren’t as many offerings. Princess usually always has a wonderful pasta at the buffet, and all they had today with some macaroni and cheese thing which I didn’t care for. The beef at the carving station was very good, however.  I think for me, everything is laid out differently unlike in the past when they would have all those beautiful roasted vegetables when you first walked in and it’s just a different layout. I really don’t like my food served  in flower pots, either, However I enjoyed that black bean salad in the flower pots. It was exceedingly flavorful but I dumped it out of the pot onto my plate. So I like the small plate concept, and I did like the presentation of certain crudite.
They probably have much more to select from at dinner, would be my guess.

Thank you for starting yet another live thread.  Always good to get other perspectives.  Is there a reason you didn't purchase the wi-fi package pre-boarding?  What is the current onboard price?  I recently made the call to 800 Princess to pay for my order.  Representative hadn't heard of the 50% OBC to platinum and elite passengers.

$52 including tax. The reason I didn’t pre-order it is because I wanted to make sure that I passed the “test “before boarding.
    I rarely pre-order anything

The medallion net is working great right now; it’s 2:00 a.m.

  7. KLM3164 has been  nice enough to weigh in on our live thread ,  so please do not turn this into a debate about masking or unmasking in one’s own cabin.

We are giving up our time to keep people posted,  and we don’t need folks trying to steer the thread in a different direction. Thanks so much. @Host CJSKIDS

    Now, back to the cruise.

I’m able to get on again tonight,  probably because everybody went to bed

Had  a lovely dinner at concerto this evening. I showed up at my allotted time of 630 and I had reserved a table for one.  There were two lines when I entered the dining room. A long line on the right hand side and a few people assembled on left side of the podium. Are they waved me toward the left-hand side, and asked me if I had a reservation and I indicated yes so they assured me right in but those without reservations were on the right hand side of the podium

I told them I would be happy to share a table so they allowed me to start a shared table for eight. The dining room appeared relatively crowded. Shortly after I had been seated a mother and daughter were seated at my table followed by a single guy followed by another single woman. That comprised our dinner table at an eight top. We all had a lovely time and left the dining room at approximately 845.  Our service was excellent.  The food was good, albeit, tiny portions, but that was not a problem for me.

Afterward, I went to the 9:15 Carlos Oscar comedy show, which was very well attended, felt like 50% of the seats were filled,  but it could have been less.

Now I’m sitting in the atrium having a drink! The band sounded really good. Unfortunately, they had to end their set at 10:45. I might go up to the disco now.
The energy level here is quite high.

Cruise Director Kevin indicates we have 1900 on board, 65% capacity.
not surprisingly, most of us are from America if not 99.9% of us.
even more interesting, based on the responses to the question in the show room, we are from all over the United States. Seem to be a lot of midwesterners. Based on the applause, it seems that half of us are on our first cruise and half of us have cruise princess before. Only A smattering of people have been to Alaska
Unlike former Alaskan cruises i’ve been on, the crowd here is quite lively, more what I would expect on a Caribbean or Mexican Riviera cruise. I suspect a lot of it has to do with the drink package. Haha.

also, went to the platinum, Suite, elite function and had a  deep blue sea martini. The Hollywood Conservatory is a lovely venue.

Well, that’s all for now. Tata.

I noticed that one of the bathroom amenities in your Elite bag was body lotion. Since I'm not elite, does that mean I won't get any and I'll have to bring my own?

(So the only way I’m able to post right now is the “my own posts

Right now.  I think it’s more of a cc issue. It always promised me to sign in yet when I look it says that I’m already signed in. Maybe if I start boozing I’ll have better luck 😁)
Apologies for all the grammatical errors, punctuation errors, etc., but I am voice dictating, And it’s too much trouble to go back and correct all the words that are coming out in lowercase.

Awayyyy we go, and right on time.

There  were some late arrivals from the airport.

of note, I reserved using the dine my way app a couple weeks ago and picked 620 every night for the symphony dining room.

upon meeting my cabin stewardess, she indicated that the symphony Will be closed, and instead I will be dining at concerto or allegro. And sure enough when I check the MedallionClass™ app it had reassigned me to concerto, five nights retain my original time request and two other nights it was changed to 10 minutes later.

not an issue for me at all but I just wanted to note that.

as an aside I cannot post with the ships Wi-Fi I had to kick it back to my LTE network cruise critic absolutely will not let me post.
so I probably won’t be logging in for the rest of the week

  9. View from my balcony. And my balcony looking upward. My husband and I have booked these cabins on several occasions, and they never disappoint. Although they are considered obstructed view, we love them. I particularly love that it is a straight drop down to the water so our views are not impeded by lifeboats in anyway whatsoever. It’s definitely bitchy up here at times, however.   Definitely not for the faint of heart.
Seattle Express  van pictured below.  $20 each way or $35 round-trip. I only paid for one way because I wasn’t expecting to use it on them return initially, but I think I will, since they circle every 15 minutes and I can just go at my leisure.

  10. Sorry but having a great deal of trouble trying to post today. The Wi-Fi did not cooperate at all so I had to kick it back over to LTE Cruise critic keeps kicking me out

Tried clearing cookies not sure what the problem is lol and I haven’t even started drinking yet!!

One of those photos above is of the French Bistro.

cannot believe our luck with this beautiful weather.

My cabin is beautiful, and I didn’t have to request anything.

I have three robes in my cabin. Usually when we board we request the robes and they don’t arrive till day two or three, understandably. This time, I have three robes?? Haha!

I boarded the ship at 11:50.

At noon,  I went to Alfredos,  and just as I was ready to be seated  an And announcement was made that all the rooms were ready.
everything was in my room when I arrived. The pre-ordered water, the mini bar, and the elite amenities, which today consist of a loofah, the moisturizer, the nail file, shower cap, and some kind of spray or mist.
everything is  spotless and the shower curtain, for once,  does  not smell like mildew.

already watched the Muster drill in the state room and went to my Muster Station.

I returned to Alfredos at 1:00, after I was finished unpacking, as I brought everything on with me today, 22-inch suitcase and small tote.

I have not yet purchased the Wi-Fi package, but I plan to,  Only I can’t remember how to accomplish that??
it’s been too long since the last cruise, apparently.

this ship is beautiful. Sorry that I’m not posting pictures to go along with these reports but unfortunately I don’t have a very strong signal right now.
